This song led to me greatly softening my approach to my 12 year old son, who was blessed with incredible mathematic, logical processing and memory brain. I was pushing him hard to, "succeed," not out of greed or anything, but simply because I assumed that was who he is, those gifts.
This song thunderstruck me. So I sat down with him and asked him to talk, and I listened. I didn't guide. I didn't teach. I didn't preach. I just listened to him.
And for the first time I saw that he hates all of those things, yet had been trying to live up my ideal version of him and it was killing him. It turns out he is sensitive, emotionally attuned to human beings, is empathic and cares deeply for others. On top of that, he has an incredibly creative source that is, "laced," with his logical analytical brain.
Things have been so, SO much better for him since I changed. He has been able to be himself and be seen. I thank Ren for his work that led to me being able to see things through a different paradigm.
Thank you - I am so moved and impressed by what you have shared. What a gift, to find an insight like that into your child and to be able to change the way you are parenting him, to meet his needs. And without a major crisis bringing it about. Great job!

Yes it was Ren playing at first . The mount that the camera is on ,I think ,is called a gimble and allows a 360 turn, evidently there are a bunch of interesting things they can do with it. This one was a 2 shot vidio with the break happening when Ren is in the wheelchair and they focus on his back . True to form Ren only has one suit and didn't want to ruin the jacket or the very expensive mike attached to it .Ren orchestrated this including the string quartet , no mean feat for a self taught musician ,I saw a film where you could hear them on their own and they were so beautiful . It makes me want to cry as well . He always has that way of softening the raw truth with those beautiful sounds .
It is a masterpiece and the video has won awards ,3 I think . It truly deserves it

Someone once said Ren can take a 3 hour hollywood movie down to 9 minutes but make it feel like 3 minutes!! I have seen this so many times and never get tired of it. In the behind the scenes and in an interview Sam did (there might be a short on it also), they talked about this camera that has the ability to do that crazy 360 work.

Ren always has a message behind his beautiful music. Hes the only artist that can make me dance and cry in the same song. money Game 1 was a history lesson, MG2 was an economic lesson and MG3 is a global look at what this worl is coming to. Ren is brilliant like you said.

It just the way Ren can make you feel everything he is saying added to our own thoughts and morals it sometimes overwhelms you I get the same way great reaction Nikki. I think that he is the realest artist in the world no one can make me feel what he does sometimes he makes you think and sometimes he makes you hurt because of things in your own life and sometimes he lightens up and gives you a smile or two and then sometimes its outrage because its something we see everyday that just isnt right like in Dominoes. It just depends on the individual and what you have going on in your own world as to how you react.

Money is never right as an end in itself, its pursuit has a distorting effect on us and our world. We have basic needs then after that it’s about what good you can do in the world. Money should be bent to that task.

Sam said there’s a cut behind the wheelchair scene. Some also say there’s a cut after he takes the hood off. I believe one way to begin to change the state of the world, begins with us, how we raise our children, what we instill in their little minds. Ren has given us something to chew on. If enough of us change our belief & RENs words reach the “right” people..it’ll take years but at least change will begin. This is certainly a masterpiece. I love RENs music as much as you ♥️.

The first time I saw this one all my barriers slammed into place, but I couldn't leave it alone, and every time I watched it again, it got a little closer to me. Finally it got through everything I was putting in the way, and I sobbed. It still upsets me, it brings some ugly truths into the light, but it also, now, gives me hope :)

I was saddened to hear of the passing of your daughter, I cannot imagine the pain you have had to deal with. You have always struck me as a positive thinking person as reflected in your involvement with youth boxing 🥊 training etc. I was interested in your hobby of crocheting but when you showed your dragon I was disappointed. Dragons are red, I’m from North Wales 🏴 see the flag. My daughter was in school with Ren & Joe etc. We used to live in the village Ren grew up in, we now live in the town where he donated £21,000 to the lifeboat service. They are volunteers who searched 24hrs a day for 10 days looking for Joe’s body. Anyway I’m kidding about the dragon haha! Keep doing what do, sending ❤ love from the beautiful Isle of Anglesey 😊

Ren was involved in music from an early age, he carried his guitar with him everywhere. In truth I could never have imagined the way things have turned out for him. He is a gifted musical genius in my humble opinion but let’s not kid ourselves he’s worked damn hard through overwhelming adversity to achieve what he has.
Try not to be too hard on yourself. It is so tough being a parent - we are all overthinking it at times. We are an important influence in our kids' lives but we are not the only influence. This society that we live in, peer pressure, social media etc they have a massive effect on our kids as well. We can only try and do our best. I am a mum of two older teens. I am petrified as to what will happen. They are already drifting away and chasing things that I don't approve of, not because I want things my way but because I am worried about them and how they are going to go in life. At the end of the day all we can give them is our unlimited love, and hope and prey we've given them enough direction early enough and trust they will make the right decisions. I, too, was afraid to watch the end of the movie. You and I both honored his gift and watched it. It hits every time.
I work to leave a child that is fully herself, whatever that is. I held her today as she got a meningitis vaccine so she can go off across the ocean to university. She has had some medical trauma and we are working to heal it. Last year she had me hold her so she couldn't move to help her control her body and the nurse waited patiently until she said 'now.' Her consent ruled. Today I held her in a gentle hug so she could push into me but she was the one who controlled her body. Her consent. She is creating her healing and I am just listening for her to be amazing. She is working her strategy to be able to get a shot on her own since she will be off in less than two months. Just one of the things I am so proud of. She knows herself and is herself.

Of 3 sons, two couldn't have cared less about brand names and such, but the youngest was very invested in it. He was a good boy and I indulged it, because otherwise they didn't get a lot extra. As an adult, he is a minimalist, wise with a budget, and immune to consumerist bs. Your oldest boys are not set in their ways - they will grow and keep learning and developing.

This is a masterpiece! It's won several awards now because it does speak truth. I understand being afraid of the future and how my kids would be. I was 5 months pregnant with my youngest when the 9/11 terrorist attacks happened. (I'm in the USA) It terrified me & I questioned the same things you are now. If you love your kids, you have worries & fears. But remember that there are a lot of "Ren's" out there who were raised by good parents who taught their kids good things. We cannot force our kids to be what we'd want or we would be no better than "Jimmy's" father. I'll tell you, my kids have made good decisions and bad decisions but I keep seeing them come back to good if I give them a minute & promise to always be there. You got this, Sis! 💜💜💜

I am a mother of one adult child. She will be 29 at the end of this year. She doesn’t want children because she sees the state of the world and she doesn’t want to bring a child into that. And I get it, as much as I would love a Grandchild. I worry enough about my daughter’s future. It’s sad that we are living in these times. Omg your crochets are adorable! I tried very briefly to learn and got as far as making a scarf/shawl/blanket thing for myself and one for my mum but it hurt my hands and wrists too much to keep up. Always impressed with people with crafty skills!

It’s like walking around with a backpack 1/2 full of rocks the honesty of what you heard just gave you a couple more rocks and now you can’t breath. Nikki, you must be the ideal audience for Ren's message. So honest, so receptive, so empathic. I think true artists are people driven not by the desire for money and fame but the NEED to express to others how they perceive the world. It's a special form of communication, perhaps it's really a burden they live with. I believe that the greatest fulfilment for an artist must be when someone says to them: "I Understand what you're saying., what you're feeling, what you're thinking. I relate to your deep insights. You're expressing something of great importance that I've not consciously thought about. Your work of Art makes me reexamine my life, my values, the way I look at the world. I 1000% understand the anxiety. I cried so hard, the first 10 times I watched this.
I have always been both very intelligent, and very empathetic. I've understood since before I was 9 that the world is broken place where horrible things happen every day. I remember, at age 9, wishing to somehow be made ignorant of it, because living would be so much easier if I didn't know. Made it to 43, and I still feel the anxiety, but it's just below noise-level. There are still no answers. As much as I hate to say it, I pretty much just try to not think about it, and when I can't, I tell myself that eventually, I'll leave this world, and maybe the next will be better. Or maybe I'll at least be ignorant of the horrors.
And yes, my icon is a picture of a crow. Specifically my feather-bro Jerry, who keeps me company.

He was litterally taking the words out of your mouth throughout the song ❤. And yes it is absolutely overwhelming to think of the state of the world overall. But I keep reminding myself we are doing the best we can with our children, when we can. If we all stopped having children, no one would be around later on to try and fix things. Not that its every child's responsibility to fix the world, but it all starts from within one's self.
Secondly, we are MUCH MORE aware of the state of the world now with social media, and it is overwhelming. Imagine if we had access to as much information a century ago as we do now. It would have been debilitating then too.
Big hugs again Mama ❤ and so sorry to hear about the loss of your first born. That type of loss is something very few people get to experience in our world, and it is lonely, and gut wrenching ❤️🩹. I am glad you are able to be open and talk a bit about it ❤🫂

It is Ren playing the piano at first (Edvard Grieg's famous piano concerto), you may recognise his rings and his hands even, once you are a long-time fan. And if that's not enough, just watch a BTS 🙂 As with guitar, Ren is self-taught on the piano. You see a piano enter his life in his Me vs. me vlog. Before starting to speak, he sings (oos) first Violet's theme (anouncing the theme of child abuse to follow), then the Money Game theme.
This is a live one take until the camera passes behind the wheelchair, and from then on it is again a live one take. The cut was necessary to transfer the brooch with the mike from the jacket lapel into a waterproof container in his tie knot. You can spot it there, when you look at it closely.

You have a great sense of humor, a big compassionate heart, your smart and I love your sass. You seem like a well rounded person. Kids seem to learn by example more than words and with you as a mum, they will grow up to be good humans! I'm 66 years old and I've learned that no matter how many kids you have, you will make mistakes with each one. Don't worry, we hopefully learn from our mistakes and so can the kids. Besides, we continue to learn as we get older and change. I look back to all the things I've learned and look forward to all the new things I still want to learn. First off, those crocheted creatures are fantastic!! I squeaked with joy when you showed each one! Many many many years ago I tried to crochet a 🦇 bat 🦇 cuz I friggin love bats. The result was horrible and I never tried crochet again 😕🦇😕
