Love it, Chuck Berry punched Keith Richards for even touching his guitar but he hands it to the man that started it all bowing to the roots of blues...LOVE IT
What a rare treat. I hope those people knew how lucky they were to see Chuck Berry AND the great T Bone Walker together on the same stage! If those two were suddenly erased from musical history most modern rock and pop music would disappear along with them.
T Bone is one of the most important influences in modern music.Almost every contemporary guitarist owes something to his legacy. Thanks for this fantastic upload.
Bone, was beginning to really fail health wise. When this was filmed. Pee-Wee -Crayton and I had many many tearful discussions. Worried about Bone. Because we loved that old man. Bone lived 100 lives, in comparison. To the 1 life the average person lives. Bone was my friend, my mentor, my teacher. My everything. Long live his memory. And his musicality....!!!
You're a lucky man. I've always wondered what T-Bone was like in person. Effortlessly sophisticated and talented onstage of course, but I often wondered if he was somewhat introverted as well?
Thanks for sharing such GREAT, EPIC footage!. long live T-bone, long live Chuck Berry, long live the many blues musicians who left us with the tools to be inspired by and grow, long live the blues!.
Chuck is so lit! LOL But look at the respect he has for T Bone. If Chuck is credited for inventing rock, it was only because he was standing on the shoulders of TBW.
Right. I was going to put my own comment to that effect then saw this one. I don't I've ever seen Chuck play this role, of the mentee not the mentor. Just great.
I was there that night in Montreux...It was around 1974 I think...Chuck was not specially drunk, he's always like that...Bo Diddley was there too. But the man who really stole the show was Muddy...Man, when he started with "the same thing" it was almost frightening...
When a harp player would come up to the stage to challenge Little Walter he would have to cut Louis on harp first.Nobody ever got by Louis to try Walter.Lol
When the blue sound back good you can't help but feel it and your heart and soul if you don't believe me ask the legendary Chuck Berry the sound of the Blues it will get you caught up in the web just like it did me RawBluesTv get ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for this post
A good artist let his Soul Free and before the Audience she or he is showing everything whitout any border. Please don't misunderstood me,but it's or she or he is naked by letting everyone in showing the hurt and joy and tears or laugh you got and that's why an artist will be earlier grappi'the bottle or dope, just to pull the emotions down,I admire artist for many reasons and for that I love Chuck and others
Chuck developed much of his style on guitar from listening to Walker. BB King also listed him as a prime influence. In fact most of modern guitar tips it's hat to the great T Bone Walker.
Yes... Keith Richards complained about that too...BTW... Bb is not an uncommon key. Guitarists like it because it puts you right in the middle of your fret board and horn players like it too because it has so few sharps and flats.
CB: (...man, this guitar is really out of tune...) HEY BONE! Why don't you take this for a spin?!?!? TB:(Plays first note, realizing how out of tune CB's guitar is...) uh, thanks?
Damn bro, Chuck passed off an out of tune ass guitar to TBone, such a magical moment but such a rough situation for Bones to be put it. Also I don’t think he’s used to holding a guitar that way, he usually plays the guitar horizontal/parallel to the ground, not the normal way Goes to show how much of a supreme showman TBone is to keep the wheels on the track in that situation
Is it asking too much to provide the source material for all these clips? The most noteworthy thing about this one is that it shows Berry was capable of playing like Walker. And the other thing that no one mentions is the very good rhythm guitar in the background. I’d like to know who that third guitarist was. Again, this is basic information that should be provided with all these TV show clips.
When we originally uploaded it, all the information was there but the people who take care of Berry's copyrights had the video removed. So when we re-uploaded it we didn't put any info so they couldn't track it down and delete it again. All the videos on our channel have all the information we could get. Answering your question, the other guitarist is Louis Myers, who together with his brother Dave on bass and Fred Below on drums formed The Aces, the best Chicago Blues group, in my opinion. Lafayette Leake played piano. Montreux 1972
@@RawBluesTV Of course, Louis Meyers. He and the Aces backed up Robert Junior Lockwood. He plays on that great live album from the ‘70s recorded in Japan. Thanks for the explanation. Chuck Berry was an arrogant pain in the ass when he was alive and apparently still is.
3:31 is this terribly out of sync or is there another guitar player ? Doesnt look like its out of sync looking at their hands and singing though but on several spots the lead guitar continues while neither of them is playing.
What a spectacular piece of music history! ❤

Where is Richards? 😡😡
That’s not how the Keith Richards story goes.

T-Bone Walker, one of finest musicians. All the great blues players looked up to him.
This is one of the coolest thing I have ever seen.
You are so right.

Hi Steve, you must be very blessed having the chance to meet in person Mr. TBW, Crayton, etc. Learning from them, I can imagine what a treasure

This my impression too. He surely was over the top. I like very much the "t-bone shuffle" but from his record.
Chuck is a genius.
But I've never seen that in such respectfully watching
someone. He knows that owes much to Mr. Walker.

I agree...it is one of the finest and strongest videos I have seen. Chuck was obviously honored to work with T-Bone Walker...
So funny, Chuck dancing round his master. And T-Bone has such a style and that funny quirky smile.
Both T-Bone & Chuck had those “knowing” smiles. 😀
Thanks for sharing such GREAT, EPIC footage!. long live T-bone, long live Chuck Berry, long live the many blues musicians who left us with the tools to be inspired by and grow, long live the blues!.
I am so enjoying this. Can't believe how young Chuck Berry is, and he was a prety darn good dancer too. Thanks for sharring.

Lol @ 3:24- T bone like "Man, if you don"t take this guitar...."
i didn't know t bone could play without his iconic way of holding guitar
Chcuk gets loads of (often deserved but not always) bad press, but what a wonderful thing he did here! Classy playing from both guys.
Doesn't happen often anymore, but seeing these guys together leaves me awestruck. Thanks for posting!
TBone was one of Chuck's influencers, Tbone had about 15 years over Chuck.

fantastico raw blues.
Chuck really loved Aaron. Don’t usually see him so loving.
