- USC's offseason has been pretty eventful. The Trojans changed defensive coaches, they got a Heisman Trophy for the 2nd year in a row(sort of), not to mention changing up the roster. I take a look at some of the more memorable moments so far during the offseason.
Segment 2 needs to know which position group needs to step up the most. I'll tell you which one and why!
Memorial Day is the somber holiday that celebrates life, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. I have someone who needs to be memorialized despite playing for two teams I despise the most.

Interesting interview with Julian Lewis by On3 today, I’m actually more confident than ever that he won’t flip now. Although I never wavered, good interview he’s certainly locked in
SO sorry to hear about “The Big Redhead”! I “hated” him because of the uniforms he wore, but LOVED him for his extremely colorful commentary, especially when he would heap praise upon SC while doing color. I watched him from the 2nd row behind the press table near the visitor’s bench at the Sports Arena, and thought how different things would have been if he wore Cardinal and Gold. REST IN PEACE, Big Guy!

Things would have been drastically different had he wore C&G, but he made me use that mute button when we played ucla. Otherwise his color commentary was incomparable.
Respect for your words 🫡 Bill was a character, he did himself to the fullest and is my favorite Bruin. He was always very favorable towards us Trojans and his devotion to the Pac was legendary. RIP big red
I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older that I can still despise the team somebody played for but respect the hell out of the player.
Bills zest for life is contagious. I wish more people looked at things through the same prism as he did.
The offseason has been tremendous. LR looks to have things ready to go in the B1G.

I think Kyle Ford showed his intelligence is greater than his ego…it’s better to be a swordfish in the ocean than a striped bass in a puddle…what good is it to be top dog at “UGLY” and not have a QB to throw you the ball when you have a system (LR) that prioritizes the passing game?

Great show Marc. Very sad news about Bill. I grew up in his era, I think he could have been the greatest college basketball player of all time. It's kind of apropos the conference of champions ends with his death.

ESPN aired a great doc about Walton in their “30 for 30” series last night. Really gives you a complete sense of who Bill was. Really worth watching.

Yes, I'm in the line that's shrinking daily.
They’re gonna have to pay taxes each year on the pay and any additional NIL. 1) Do they still get the scholarship with all its combined added benefits? Or, is it now deducted? 2) Do they pay each get payed the same, or is it based upon play? Definitely needed structure to it all, but who is responsible for providing the structure/rules regarding it? Those are the questions I have now.
I hate my most memorable was another's misfortune, but the firing of Alex Grinch definitely stands out. But Miller Moss' performance in the Bowl Game was also huge. I knew he'd play well, just not that good. He will play within the parameters of the offense and it'll take care of itself. If defense is top 50, SC will go 10-2
Agreed, except maybe a top 25 D gets us to 10-2, top 30 9-3, top 50 8-4 ~ 9-3 maybe. No knock on Miller, He exceeded all expectations in the Bowl.

USC, when fielding their best teams, have always had scary offenses with a big play
ability that’s like lightening strikes. That’s that scary part for opposing teams/fans. But you combine it with a good defense and you’ve got top 5 teams.
I can’t imagine anyone outside of the big programs, i.e. Notre Dame, tOSU, Georgia, Bama, USC etc can make enough off tickets, merch and TV revenue to justify paying huge salaries to players plus free schooling, housing, food etc. How many fans really wanna watch Mercer vs Western Kentucky on TV for example…maybe classify college football like minor league baseball…with commensurate salaries…🤔
I am not worried about SC competing in the Big ten. Look at the record. Things will change so much in the next few years. Ticket prices likely will double just my opinion.
SC has always hyped its records not just in football. It's going to be interesting which sports survive.

Morning Marc, as bad as the oline seem to be USC was in the top 5 in yds per play. We seem to forget that Henson inherited a solid oline with nothing behind it because of the poor recruiting that Helton did.

For argument's sake, lets say it's just for football.
If the kids are now getting paid a couple hundred thousand dollars a year are they also getting free schooling because at USC that’s a couple hundred thousand dollars or more also or do they have to pay for their own schooling inquiring minds want to know.
They will still receive full ride scholarships including related benefits. Will remain this way at all schools.

I read or heard something about he evaded an SEC rule which allowed him to transfer within conference by stopping off with us for a cup of coffee. I would wager it may have also involved a 💰…but who knows 🤷🏼♂️…FTFO
