Agreed. Check for local estate sales/auctions in your area. That's where I usually find good deals. If you can get out to an auction thats 45-60 miles from a major city, I think you'll find some good deals

Hello , what do you suggest if the blade doesn’t spin after changing the piston,cylinder and and rings ? I notice a crack in one the springs on the clutch . Could that cause the blade to not spin when giving it throttle ?
Hi. My saw does idle and shut down after using for a few minutes. I replace the cylinder piston, spark plug, air filter, but no the carburetor. Whenever I cut into the block, it loses power. Notice that the cylinder started to feel hot. What is the reason for not idling and overheating?
When 🤔 you installed carberator did you make sure the bottom tab locked in on the cylinder,air leak will fry the piston.Carb screws vibrate loose sometimes,turn em clockwise all the way in,then its 1 1/2 turns counter clockwise each, should start right up and run good.Dont use Chinese parts.40:1 oil mix.
I would double check that you re-installed the pull starter correctly (make sure nothing is binding) - also are you pushing in the decompression button when trying to start it?

I know you said you "wouldn't go into it", but a clue as to how to get the vibration spring off would be real handy mate?
Put the spring on the cylinder in a vise,bend it ,,wall La,tool goes right in.

Did you remember to put belt on,sounds like your bottom end is toast.

I would check for any air leaks between the air intake and the carb.

I just picked on up for free because it was seized. What you just replace the engine?
You can replace just the piston and cylinder. Should be able to do that for about $60 and your time.

When you put the new carb on did you have to adjust it? I've replaced the carb on mine and it works now but it runs like shit

Back em in clockwise,then its 1 1/2 turns each counter clockwise.Need a 21 spline carb tool.

I would estimate it took about 2 hours start to finish. It really wasn't too bad.
