I believe you still could’ve used the rex 7. If I remember correctly with the esc updater/programmer, you can select which channel the esc looks for the reversing switch. I believe you can select channel 7, 8, or 9 at least, maybe more. Since the converter is running on exbus, it’ll still output all the channels your radio is sending.
Yes. You are correct and I noted that in the video notes afterwards. Kinda learned that as I went. Thanks for throwing this out there. It’s appreciated
@@JustPlaneCrazy Sorry, I see that now! Skipped the notes. I’ve been running the ETC on many of my planes for a while now with avian esc’s and jeti TX. It’s a great combo! Glad you put a video out to make more people aware of it! Great piece of technology and the support at rclight systems is beyond great!
That’s not quite true. Some are already programmed and opened to a standard channel 7 port. It depends. A different channel can be programmed if desired.
I got all my telemetry but my reverse function doesn’t seem to work. I set everything up on my Jeti. Figured out the issue was I needed to program the ESC for “Reverse” all works fine.
First off thanks for this video. Just to be clear, with the RC Lights System converter we can use any brand of lipo with the Eflite Avian ESC and still get mAh consumed along with the other telemetry on our Jeti radio? Thanks again for the great video.
It has to be a telemetry capable esc from Avain. The battery brand doesn’t matter. As far mah used I have only ever used lipo, with the introduction of Li Ion I am not sure if voltage or capacity is best for those
Many thanks for this video.i want to use the converter on my Draco. When ordering it, there are two options: with a standard telemetry servo connector or with a Spektrum-XBus connector. Which one do I want. Sorry to bother you with this.
I would like to have the reverse on my futaba radio (t14SG). Even by connecting the plug of the controller containing only the signal on an auxiliary channel of my radio, it does not work. An idea ? Thank you.
Hello, does someone have any advice how to get this working on Futaba t14sg with receiver r7008sb? I did the configuration of ETC (hopefully right) and conected it to the Draco. Light ond ETC is now green, so I think than config is all good. Normal function of throttle is working perfectly fine, but i dont know how to get telemetry and revers function working... Many thanks for any help!!!
Make sure you set the aux 2 function on channel 7. And then set a switch for it. That’s where the esc is programmed for. As far as setting up your futaba tele I don’t have that radio but they should all be the same. Find the tele menu and select what u want to display
@@JustPlaneCrazy Thank you for quick respond. To be able to see any futaba telemetry sensors, I have to register them in Tx first using an Y cable.... but this thing doesnt seem to be working that way....
BIG thanks for showing this!! Im ordering a ETC for my new Draco. I fly futaba

For sure. I love this thing. Again I appreciate ur comments. Thank U. I am always looking to learn and share things.
Should also mention that the esc has to be programmed for reverse before doing all of this. And for that you need the programming box from Spektrum.

Thanks for putting this together. Great video!!
Welcome thanks for watching. Please share
Wonderful! I just got this for my FRSKY X20S and Castle 160 and Roban 800 Huey

So very helpful. Thx so much for the help
Thanks for watching🤪😜😝

Hi and thank you for this content.
Does this converter also work With an Radiomaster ER8 and a Spektrum Smart ESC?
Kind regards
Roland
Don’t hesitate to reach out to them. They will answer that better than me. They are very responsive

No worries thanks for watching. I used the standard telemetry connector

Yes. With this etc you can have that feature. You need communication from the esc to your radio and this device will give you that.
@@JustPlaneCrazy My rx is an R617FS. He can't have telemetry ...
What do you advise me as rx futaba?
Anything with sbus2 ability should work
Did you have to configure the ESC brake to use reverse?
No. I was able to just configure the tele module

Since I don’t have futaba my best recommendation is RC light systems a message via FB messenger. They are super helpful at getting you going
@@JustPlaneCrazy OK, thank you very much :)
Hast du eine Anleitung auf Deutsch?
Bin zu alt, um das engl. zu kapieren
You can buy a new Hobby Wing ESC with 8s upgrade for less than this converter.
