What was your favorite soda growing up? 🥤
Dr. Pepper but on this list Orbitz and Surge
All of the Shasta sodas
Moxie!
RC in glass bottles. Soda in glass was much better. Soda with sugar rather than HFCS was so much better. TaB was nasssty!
Hires root beer !!!!
It’s kinda mind blowing that Coke thought people would want a different flavor that was more like Pepsi. If they wanted Pepsi, they would buy Pepsi.
I didn't even realize Slice was gone. I haven't had a soda in so long. Out of sight, out of mind I guess.
Ummmm Jolt...hello?? Thought they were saving the best for last, but they completely left I off the list!!
No Jolt? Odd.
Would love to see a video like this on cereal!
Purple passion soda from the 60s and Jolt cola from the 80s!
DietRite. Not my favorite, but as my older brother was a type 1 diabetic, we never had sugary drinks in the house. In the old glass returnable bottles, 8 pack.
I'm 50+ years T1D, and I drank diet rite when I was pregnant with my first kid. One, it was sugar-free, and two, it was caffeine free.
one thing everyone misses is mountain dew pitch black 2. it was a sour version, that was better in my opinion and never got a rerelease
Disappointed that OK soda wasn’t included.
That's the one I was hoping to see. I had kept an unopen cans for years after his discontinued. Fun fact: soda does not keep well inside the can, ha ha. I try to drink it and it was disgusting after maybe three years.
Bring back Josta!
Bring back the bottles.
Surge and slice were great I also enjoyed Kona Pepsi that should of been listed lot of good memories with all
Pepsi should've just left Sierra Mist alone. It's a good seller and everyone liked it. Starry is just nasty.
this is the first time i heard some one mention hubba bubba soda. it was my favorite as a kid
I loved the New Coke. Was disappointed when discontinued.
Vault drink with its color and name coulve be a fallout ingame drink
Corona Cream Soda was the one we’d drink non stop…Whatever happened to (that) brand?????
I remember Orbitz! It was good.😊 so was surge!
You’re now, claiming that saccharine was not a problem😂
saccharine quite quite clearly affects the balance of bacteria in your gut
which has been shown to lead to type two diabetes, obesity, and in some cases cancer, so yes saccharine is a problem
My great-grandfather used saccharine instead of sugar from the time saccharine was invented. He died of old age.
When I was a little boy, in Connecticut, we used to drive over to a Red Barn Soda maker, because they were inside of a Red Barn. They produced, bottled, and "Cased" large bottles of sodas, with the old flip stopper tops, into these very heavy wooden carriers. The sodas came in various flavors, and you could chose what would go into the box each time you visited. Those were the days, before the bottles and can craze started, in a much simpler time. I don't remember ever seeing a normal bottle of soda, like there is today, back then, even at family gatherings.
How could you not mention c-plus?
Thank you.
Corona Cream
I used to go south sometimes for visits with family. I miss "NeHi" (SP?) sodas (grape.) They had other flavors, but grape was my favorite.
Crystal Pepsi was so heavily promoted in the early 90s even a bus I took to work from the train was done in a full wrap of it - which was just becoming a thing at the time. I don't drink sugary sodas anymore, but if I did I used to love the seasonal Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash! I wish they also still made the companion to Orangina, "Orelia" that was grapefruit flavored! I also thought for a while that Squirt had actual fruit juices in it because it tasted so great, but once I read the ingredients I was disappointed to find it had no nutritional value to it and was just good tasting!
They still sold Nehi when I was a kid, a favorite of mine as a child. Even if they brought it back it probably wouldn't taste the same in a plastic bottle. Also Birch Beer all but disappeared from the South East of US.
I want the original Orange Crush back. The stuff they sell under that name now is ok, but it's more sugary in taste and less Orange taste. Orange Crush was a standout unique flavor compared to other fruit sodas. Now it's just another on the shelf.
SURGE! A fully loaded citrus soda, with carbos!
Coca-Cola zero with lime is my favorite. And I still can buy it everyday 😀
I'm not sure if all Burger King's have this but my local one with a coke machine has surge on it. Been getting that every time I buy from there
An interesting show could be done about the near death of 'Barbering' from the late 60' till the end of the 70's.
Diet Coke with Lime was the best pop flavour ever!
Whistle sodas were the best. Early 70s.
How bout Rondo from the 80's
Ooh, I loved apple slice!
I'm old lol
FRESHKA
I miss Shasta
It still exists. I mix whiskey with their ginger ale.
@@sethjaffe9095 Where do you live? I'm in west central Ohio and I can't find it here
@@LittleBlueOwl318 West Valley City, UT
@@LittleBlueOwl318 In NC they still sell Shasta but not at the "main" grocery stores. If the store doesn't have a generic "store brand" soda then that's a good place to look. I've seen the small bottles at Sheetz (gas station), and in the past at Dollar Tree (but I think they may have been replaced by another cheap brand), Carlie C's IGA has it now and the last time I went a Piggly Wiggly they had it too. Which the smaller stores you have near you might not be the same as these and your stores might carry a different one but I would guess that one of the small random grocery stores you don't normally go to would carry it.
glass water and piece of real fruit, co co cola kill along with Nestle
Who is this "we" you believe want these back? There is a reason they have been discontinued, and that is that not enough people drank them when they were available. Btw, Slice was a very misleading drink. It claimed to be 10% real fruit juice, and it was, but the juice was not that of the soda's flavor. Orange slice was not 10% orange juice. It didn't matter the flavor of the drink; they all contained the same fruit juice. It was a combination of white grape, apple, pear, and cherry.
No one wants these back except cultists.
That's why they're gone.
being a canadian i have never heard of some of these soda's as i am sure they are american only orbitz Floating edible balls🤣I guess you could say that about all guys 🤣🤣
In the 90s, I made my own cocktail of Captain Morgan Parrot Bay rum, Surge, and a bit of lime. I called it the Green Parrot. 🦜
Also, while it wasn't in the video, I was a huge fan of Jolt Cola in the late 90s. It had been around for a while, but it didn't hit my radar until I watched that 1995 movie, Hackers. Product placement works, apparently.
