I remember him when I was a kid and he spiked my interest in magic to what it is today:-)

    Cara, no lol he does
Not steal the gimmick from his jacket. Wrong. The footage does not included the moment he stole the gimmick :) is very simple. In the tails, to clean up yes, BUT Fred did not always used his tail to accomplish this. He had 2 more ways of doing it. Notice that later in he carrear, Fred did not use tails. Anyway... is not important how he did it. People seem to be interested in what has no interest at all and that is annoying and hurts us, performer of our craft. Above all, what you are seeing here is a very skilled actor. Magic people is about communicTion/ expression and is all about people. I have to keep writing his here to try to educate people because people simply have the wrong idea about illusionism. We are actors playing the part of characters that are magicians. Culture and education would help a lot more people to grow and understand things better. When you see a piano player, do you jump into the piano to see how the strings move or hit the hammers within the instruments? No, you do not. Magic (as people call it) is experiential , not analytic. Your job is to understand the person’s message and way of expression being (if possible) entertained and enjoy the performance. No one is challenging no one, or claiming to be smarter than YOU (the audience). This is current and stupid assumption people have based on their lack of education and insensibility towards the artistic field. Sad, but true. Hurting people that give their best to entertain others just due to people’s stupidity is the origin of all foundations collapsing in our modern day... think about it!

0:33 he steals the salt pour gimmick from his jacket. 1:41 he ditches it in his tails. Both times as he turns so his right hand is upstage out of sight but you can still see him fiddling around if you know what to look for.

He has to keep shaking his hand up and down so the salt doesn't get stuck in the gimmick. If it were real magic and the salt was just appearing, he wouldnt need to do this. The way to deconstruct magic is to examine the actions of the performer. These give clues to the method. Dai Vernon said "Be natural". It was a way to combat the above approach which leads to the leads to the suspension of belief in the magic.

I d like to see you perform it as well. Did you think it there is real magic? He never claims it. Do you enjoy someone telling you the ending of a movie you want to see? Let others enjoy the mystery or noodle it out for themselves. Otherwise you come across as bragging that you are so smart. However, if you believe he shakeshis hand to dislodge the salt, you don't understand the real work.

Apparently you don’t know what to look for because he doesn’t have to steal the gimmick 😂😂😂😂. Oh does it hurt your feelings that you are wrong?😂😂😂
