I have a question about the jodan kamae shown on this video. I was taught that the jodan left hand should be a fist distance away above the eye level of your men; but on this video, it looks like the jodan kenshis left hand is significantly lower with the right hand above the eye level of the men. Is both variants valid??
It's not pushing with the right arm, you pull back and release. Like in Chudan the right arm only supports and gives direction, all power is derived from left. (Hence why right arm always goes back towards body after releasing in jodan).

DarkCloudXVX I think this is how they practice jodan in "kendo" only.. If you are ask any kenjutsu trainer they all say its totally wrong
