Loved visiting Devils Tower. I remember all the prairie dogs. The hike around the Tower was really nice because of the benches and shade. I appreciate that some areas are restricted to respect the spiritual significance to the native population.
I remember going there back in the 90s. We did that same hike. Did it with my friend who is in a wheelchair. A couple hilly parts we had to double up in pushing her or guiding her downhill so she didn’t fall out. It’s a great place to explore
We had Devils Tower on our literary leaving The Black Hills going to Yellowstone. My husband wanted to kind of bypass it and we almost did...and thank goodness we didnt!! What a BEAUTIFUL place! And you don't even realize it til you get there! Great video, Pops Glad you and Josh enjoyed it!
Devil's Tower truly is a unique place and worthy of a stop. The last time I was there was probably in the 1980s. While the prairie dogs are cute, I do remember driving through Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the 1990s, and seeing signs warning that the prairie dogs in that part of the park were carrying the plague. Probably don't want to let your dog (or yourself) get too close to them if there's an outbreak in the area.
Pops and the alien again lol.. you gotta do the zero G “dance” again and make your hat float away like you did in the mock space shuttle with Josh 😂… that looks like a great trail though
Hi! Did you miss this at Devil's Tower? Fun to frame the tower within this sculpture. Also, just FYI it's Belle "Foosh" River. But, we know what you meant :) Enjoy you videos with seniors in mind. Located near the picnic area, the Circle of Sacred Smoke, by sculptor Junkyu Muto, honors the American people as a gesture of world peace. The sculpture is designed to help raise visitor awareness of the importance of Devils Tower to over twenty affiliated tribes.
I didn't stop at Devil's Tower the first time through WY. Were some of those prairie dogs blonde fur? In Badland's they all were, and one stop had an explanation how they ended up in the area. They are indeed too cute and so fun to watch.
I don’t know about different hair colors. We did stop at a place where you could hand feed them peanuts which was fun. Will be in one of Josh’s future videos I’m sure.
went to this on a drive from NY to LA. quite unique but very out of place, Mount Rushmore is quite similar to this both a short quick stop but very out of place.

Thank you Pops. Appreciate you!
Thank you for the kind words?
I will always think about the movie “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” when I see the Devil’s Tower. :)
Hahaha me too! And making it out of mashed potatoes.
@@popshiking Definitely out of mashed potatoes. 🤗🤗
We're excited to see Devil's Tower later this summer!👏
It is really cool to see close up!

I suspected you might be able to do it in a chair. That’s good to know!

Beautiful!!! Thank you so much for taking us along. All the animals look so cute ! I love that the trail wasn’t crowded with people (:

I wish I had known about that. I hope folks will see that in your comment.
@@popshiking Good excuse to come back and re-visit :).

I would love to see the Prairie Dogs. I’ve never seen them in the wild, pretty sure I seen them in a zoo before but that’s not at all the same.
There was actually a spot Josh will no doubt post about where we got to feed them!

It does particularly seem out of place.
anyone got some mashed potatoes?
Hahaha that was one of the first things I thought of too!!

Just discuss it in your natural tone. It’s much better.
