Regarding torture as a means of interrogation. Without corroboration or the ability to safely confirm the info as true, the subject can just say whatever he wants to make the pain stop. If he believes he’s going to die regardless if he tells the truth or not, it’s a bad position for the interrogator to be in. Also, threatening death is a risky move. Just to be factual: The Stasi was the secret service in eastern Germany and did indeed horrible things. The Gestapo was the Secret Service in the Third Reich and did inhuman things. Two different organizations in two different states. 9:20
It's all bad, but... Yes. The Soviets spent quite a lot of resources they didn't really have arming the same kinds of groups while their own people starved, and did much worse. Don't confuse things, though. The fact that the communists were worse in most cases doesn't mean what the US agencies did wasn't terrible.

Jack Bauer is a torturer, he's not a hero. He's this twisted Fox News wet dream that was invented to justify American war crimes and mass surveillance.
A couple of other thoughts… 1. The suggested idea that the CIA isn’t needed due to its sundry failures is to accept the notion that a nation can survive without a spying capability and a covert action capability. To believe that is to accetp a foolish idea and worse run down the road to national suicide. The world is not a friendly place. 2. The narrator’s portrayal of CIA agents being men who will do any evil deed is at great odds with the men I grew up with, friends of my father. They were the greatest patriots I have ever met. Unsung and humble, they did their jobs recruting people to provide information, landing on the hostile shores of enemy nations & crossing tractless deserts into remote places such as Afghanistan was in the 1950’s. 3. Finally, the vast, vast majority of the books about the CIA are written by people who are predisposed to dislike the agency. Sure they make mistakes - any organization does. But the thing is that you never hear of the CIA’s successes - because after all, they're secret. You think that a U2 just happened to fly over Cuba at the right place and at the right time to take pictures of nuclear missiles there? No, a CIA team found them, took pictures with a cheap camera, got out and delivered the film. They then were sent back in with a good camera, got more pictures and then got back out a a second time. Then they went back in as an overwatch to ensure the missiles were still there when the hastily planned U2 mission was executed. Then they got out a third time. How do I know? I talked with the team leader at my dad’s funeral.
@@FEEonline Well at the given timestamp the news article cleary stated it was a "killed by poison dart fired by umbrella". Let's dissect that shall we? The only way to fire something is to have an ammunition with gunpowder. Much like the blunderbuss/muskets and lead balls. I can't imagine the poison would stay in those tiny holes of the metal ball without leaking out. Although you say "poked" The only way for them to the end of an umbrella into a person in order to inject a metal ball like that would be as if the ends of the umbrella were sharpened. And if he truly was poked the ball would immediately roll out because it would have a massive hole it would leave as soon as it entered. So the correct term would be injected if the ball was not enough to go into the sharpened end but not leave a protrusion large enough for it to escape.

A terrible paradox of humanity: When we see corruption exposed within an agency, we lose trust in it. When we see an agency that hasn't been exposed as corrupt in many years, we place our trust in it. _It should be the other way around._
@@MrNickPresley I think his point is that the corruption being exposed means that there's a level of transparency, and that the agency has the ability to self-correct and improve. If the agency isn't regularly exposed for its corruption then that just means the corruption is going undetected.

I dunno, man. The CIA in the Bourne series is very realistic. Morally repugnant? Check. Kills innocent people in the name of the country? Check. Incompetence? Check. In fact, Jason Bourne is pretty much a loose cannon and just wanna be left alone.
I don't think you can criticize the Mossad for what they do. They are the organization with the most responsibility and the first time they mess up will be the last time they mess up and cost potentially millions of lives. They can't afford to lose
But that's the same shit excuse they all use. Mossad are just as criminal as the rest of them, they uphold tyranny and treat human lives as expendable. Fuck 'em.
The story of Benghazi 13 hours shows a glimpse of the "competence" of the main staff and those above them. In comparison to the men who do the dirty work (GRS, Ground Branch) who are mostly veterans with battle proven skills who are competent.
When a person fails, they get to try again, usually. When the FBI fails, the weapons they sold to the cartel are used to kill dozens and the agents involved get a reprimand at worst, and are allowed to continue engaging in activities indistinguishable from organized crime.
It's all successes for them, the question is how you define a success. If your definition is stopping bad guys, saving innocent lives, and keeping the peace, you and the letters are not on the same page. False flags probably comprise a significant chunk of their activities, and the rest is surveillance. Of who? You and me.

Out of frame is ending. That makes me sad. I loved all of the movie comparisons to real life issues. This is one of very few channels that manages to speak politically the correct way with nothing but facts and logical arguments against the insanity of the world.
Ethan Hunt works for Impossible Mission Force, not the CIA. He pwns the CIA in the first film and jumps from director to director saving the world. DO NOT analyze this franchise. It’s not owned by Disney, so we should just be grateful.
You're giving the agencies the benefit of the doubt by assuming they meant to stop all the atrocities that slipped by them. Not sure they always deserve that generosity.

Just to be factual: The Stasi was the secret service in eastern Germany and did indeed horrible things. The Gestapo was the Secret Service in the Third Reich and did inhuman things. Two different organizations in two different states. 9:20
Giving billions in weapons to ISIS downright friendly by comparison. There are a lot of Syrian Christians who would disagree on that one.
@@FEEonline In Afghanistan, the US directly funded only Northern Coalition fighters. The Pakistanis funded groups like the Taliban, though funnily enough often using American money and equipment.
Of course nobody is under the illusion that the CIA and other government agencies are like Ethan Hunt and the IMF but it's a refreshing example of the possibility of how we could be better and more heroic like Ethan and the IMF if we try and worked hard on ourselves, say what you will about 24 and Jack Bauer but despite all the torture and stuff he's still a badass heroic character that deserves his props of respect for the man is constantly put through hell to try to protect those that he love as well as in service of his country and countryman; yet he keeps getting stabbed in the back left and right by the people he serves along with those who he trust the most, I'm pretty sure if he had someone like Ethan and his team on his side if the IMF were involved and helping him save the day within the course of a day he wouldn't have to resort to such Dark and Grizzly tactics in order to stop threats, an agent like Ethan and even Burn Notice's Michael Westen and alias's Sidney Bristow are and can be examples to a fictional character like Jack Bauer on how they could be better if they're given the chance!💯😁😉👍
I agree, but that run on sentence is legendary
@@vaclavjebavy5118 LOL it's not entirely a run on sentence I put commas here and there!😂😁😉👍
@@vmaninc.761 I mean, that makes it better, because not only is it a sentence that never ends, it's also grammatically correct, which is rare in RUclips comments!
@@vaclavjebavy5118 well thank you for the compliment! LOL💯😉😁👍
Jack Bauer is a torturer, he's not a hero. He's this twisted Fox News wet dream that was invented to justify American war crimes and mass surveillance.
NOOOOOO, please let us keep this going! Out of Frame is amazing.
I always assumed they worked for the International Monetary Fund (IMF)
CIA doesn’t like this video…
Tragic to see out of frame go
Is there sound? Not on my device....
Really gonna miss these vids 😢
Keep up the great work 👌
Once the franchise clears Jim Phelps name, I'll dip back into it.
Oof, no sound man.
Yup. No audio. 🔉
A couple of other thoughts…
Ill miss Out of Frame. I think its a very important series
What would be the fun being a Old crow. If you can be mad with power.
Thank you for your videos. Its the reason I follow the channel.
Next week's headlines: "FEE content creator found dead in apparent suicide with two shots to the back of the head."
8:23 If it was a poisoned dart it would have been a actual dart. Not a metal bullet.
It was neither a dart, or a bullet. It was a ball on the end of an umbrella jabbed directly into him.
@@FEEonline
Well at the given timestamp the news article cleary stated it was a "killed by poison dart fired by umbrella".

He got poked by an umbrella. That umbrella had an apparatus that injected a ball. The ball was laced with poison. He died. It was one example of dozens.

Great video, I agreed with everything I heard you say!

This series has been great don't tell me your stopping!!!!!
Uhhhhh it’s telling me theirs no video/stream……GAAAAASP!
Video about the CIA gets muted lol

So Burn Notice was the only show to accurately depict how horrible the intelligence community is. and even they downplayed it

I am sad that this series is going to end but I am looking forward to what comes next.
A terrible paradox of humanity: When we see corruption exposed within an agency, we lose trust in it. When we see an agency that hasn't been exposed as corrupt in many years, we place our trust in it. _It should be the other way around._
We should trust the corrupt organization, unless they aren’t shown to be corrupt at regular intervals?
@@MrNickPresley I think his point is that the corruption being exposed means that there's a level of transparency, and that the agency has the ability to self-correct and improve. If the agency isn't regularly exposed for its corruption then that just means the corruption is going undetected.
Shame to see Out of Frame end. I always enjoyed the very reasoned and rational approach you always take. You always try to take even-handed approach to the facts like you did here, trying to separate facts from fiction and ideology from reality. I may not have always agreed with you, but you have always made me think and reconsider what I thought was right. Best of luck on your future endeavors.
When you study world history and the state of the current world, the more you feel that being a school teacher is more altruistic than working for the government.
Fuck 'em.
Every Intel orgs are corrupted to some degree.

... finding out its over... what a terrible day for rain.
IMF in the original show was basically a private group of independently wealthy contractors who couldn't be bought. Contractors rather than feds.
0:20 truer words have never been spoking, I knew I loved this channel.
The story of Benghazi 13 hours shows a glimpse of the "competence" of the main staff and those above them. In comparison to the men who do the dirty work (GRS, Ground Branch) who are mostly veterans with battle proven skills who are competent.
09:27 you told Stasi. I think you meant Gestapo.
You only hear about the failures but never hear about the successes of these organizations. There are no rules in the game of life.
Of who? You and me.
@@SG-df9er There are no rules when everyone is a potential enemy. But I get what you mean. Humanity is fallible. Mistakes are made.
I want an intelligence angency that are like IMF.
The Good Shepherd is another good movie about the CIA’s history as well…
Poor Tom Cruise. Called a lunatic in the first 10 seconds.
welp, time to clear space to download all the out of frame videos, though it'll suck not having all the links in the descriptions attached to the videos
They have power due to blackmail and bribing power solely.
Unfortunately we may never get a video from OoF on the tragedies of Ruby Ridge and Waco
Wait what??

Can you provide links to music you use throughout the video?
For all of Tom Cruise's eccentricities, he's not Hollyweird.
You're giving the agencies the benefit of the doubt by assuming they meant to stop all the atrocities that slipped by them. Not sure they always deserve that generosity.
It can be difficult to tell incompetence apart from malice. Government agencies have plenty of both. Either way, arming terrorists and bombing civilians are business as usual.
Imf is not Cia.
