What about an independent time keeper? Like in ice hockey. Start the clock at 90, and every time the ball is in play, the clock ticks down. Any stoppage, the clock stops. Once the 90 is done, it's done. Ref doesn't need to watch his clock, just ref the game.
Everyone knows how long is left etc. etc.
Would stop the ridiculous additional time adding up. Stops teams faking injuries and using subs to eat time as the clock doesn't move if the game is dead.
I agree. When play stops, clock stops. Actually play a full 90. Other sports do it, so I don't understand the hesitance and skepticism around this for football.
Plus it would wipe out timewasting completely. You'd probably actually only need 30 minutes each half cos that's all the ball is in play for during 90 minutes anyway.

Would be good if there were some radical changes in the sport but the fans would kill the policy off before it gets through. F1 has DRS, Cricket has powerplay etc. They should have a 5 minute period (or more, depending on how it goes) where there's no offsides, would cause absolute scenes
make offside like ice hockey with a line on the pitch and not dependent on a player that is moving. offside was there to stop poaching and just booting the ball up to a player. this would still achieve that

I like the subs one from Gary! Would also make it mandatory for physio to come on if player on the ground longer than say 5/10 seconds, would stop players going down to waste time then getting up without having to go off the pitch because physio hasn't come on
Here's one I'd like to see. Deliberate (So called tactical) fouls done to stop a dangerous counter attack. Fouled team gets a free kick anywhere they like outside the area.
Good idea, those fouls are becoming so common it’s getting to the point most counter attacks starting in their own half are prevented before it gets exciting with fouls because because the punishment for them is so minimal, it’s killing the excitement and it’s just accepted as good play.

VAR should have a ten second rule. If it can’t be judged to be the wrong call by the referee within that time the Ref call stands.

what about if you curl a ball down the sideline or behind the goal at a corner and the ball comes back into play then its not out? it would add another dimension to it and think how goalies and defenders would have adapt to handle curlers coming in from behind them. lead to more goals which is a good thing.

I'd like to see what would happen to the game if each side only had 10 players. I suspect it would result in a much more expansive game with loads more goals. I've always wondered why football has 11 players instead of 10.

Offside should be determined by the weighted leg, time and again a striker gets called off side by an arm or shoulder when his weighted foot is behind the weighted foot of the defender

Off side should still be an air gap. The whole game is about scoring goals, the stiker should always get thr advantage. Unless itd blatantly offside, the goal should stand.
Agree. I think the VAR check on offside should just be look at the still as the ball is played and if you can clearly see it's offside then it's offside. If there's a need to check/draw lines etc then it's onside.

This idea of clear and obvious lends itself to interpretation, which would cause endless problems. The system as it is now is ideal because it removes subjectivity from the decision. It's like tennis, where there is no clear and obvious. The ball is either over the line or out. Period.

Get rid of VAR, invest goal line tech lower down divisions, remove VAR for FÃ cup, reintroduce FA cup replays, allowable PSR tax that’s then filtered down the football pyramid, not into the accounts of lawyers, accountants and the Premier League.
Clubs should be owned by the club itself. Not some dude or country with money...
