    This is how the core topic is to be avoided. Salman is worried about Muslims in India (we all should be concerned about well being of all citizens) rather than the hundreds of thousands who lost their lives. The debate is not about if there should be reunification now, but it about should Indian Congress party and British should have allowed the partition in the first place. No wonder his party did so.miserably in the latest elections.

      What's your view on the current situation in India? What most of us(non India,asians) get is contradictory. How do you see it and it's impact on Indians?

    • @nikhilprem7998
      @nikhilprem7998 2 года назад +1

      @@Klopp2543 there are many who work against India. Hence you will hear reports of violence after violence, basis of religion ofcourse! But these incidents are just a few selectively picked narratives of the many incidents in India, to frame India under the umbrella of being violent and unsafe to minorities.
      If Indians were truly biased then why would they be violent, on the basis of religion they hold a overwhelming majority so to crush a minority you do not need violence, but well proposed and biased economic and education policies to deprive certain communities (the greatest example is US, they hold a much smaller majority compared to India, yet they dominate )
      From the west, to some in Islamic world people continue to work in favour of disunity within India. Clear from the actions of China 1962, America 1971, Britain (during partition), not gonna mention Pak and Turk actions. But I cannot complain the world has never been free and fair, and should not be.
      The actions of a community is heavily influenced by the culture, way of life, religion, geography etc...For India all the 4 before mentioned promote or incline to peace. (For example large fields of arable land promotes collectivism over violence, geography physically blocks Indian armies to move out of the sub continent hindering influence, religion is too fragmented to form violent right wing and at the same time is heavily structured to be non-violent) Hence any type of massive violence on any community on any basis is tough to implement.
      To make India violent you need to hit at the sweet spots, that is the major rivers, or the northen plains, making many people angry or stirring a major crisis , resulting in violence.
      If you really want to see India, then visit India maybe in a decade or so, when the streets will be better and cleaner. (hopefully)
      Another subject similar to India, is Persia.
      Feel free to criticize if you disagree.

    If there were to have been a separate state for India's Muslims, it should have been in Uttar Pradesh, because that has always been the centre of Islamic Indian civilisation. The grand cities of Delhi, Agra and Lucknow with sites like the Taj Mahal were all examples of Indian Muslim culture. Instead the Muslim state had to be in the Punjab and Bengal, two areas of India that were not the centre of Islamic Indian civilisation.

    • @AnsikMahapatra
      @AnsikMahapatra 6 лет назад +4

      It's a token discussion. Partition was backed by substantial demand from both sides of the population. It doesn't make any sense to undo what has already been done. The only thing our respective population can do is make our regions worth living for and worth living in.

    • @ibraheemsaleem2161

      I agree with you, and I would like to mention the fact that a lot of Pakistani people (including myself, but mostly older people like my father who was 58 when he died) believe that partition was a sad and tragic affair which should have been avoided. But it should be mentioned that the supporters for partition had many logical and substantiated arguments against a united India which I believe were not done justice to in this debate. Mr Gandhi mentioned some of them but made a mistake when he said that Muslim league wanted to make a sharia law country, when in fact almost all Islamic scholars like Maududi and Azad opposed partition for their own reasons. They used to refer to Jinnah as Kafir-e-Azam!.

    This partition debate has arisen post the Soviet collapse. The world should not forget that the UK and the US openly and pretty brazenly supported the 1971 genocide and rape of Bengali (now Bangladeshi) civilians by the Punjabi Muslim army. Where was the concern for violence and rape then? Was even that related to religious differences - both sides were actually Muslim. Or was it about who's the "better" Muslim? No, it was just about having a lever in the subcontinent which could be pushed and pulled as and when required.
    Let's see if the Oxford Union could also organise a debate over the 1971 war. But obviously that would never happen.
    The real reason why some Westerners and their Punjabi Muslim coolies stirred this debate after 1991 is because the US-led capitalism-induced, modern globalization has made the US-UK cabal to go crazy and unfettered. It is unable to navigate the various power centres in the Indian subcontinent and would like the country to have remained united, BUT, subservient to the West as a whole, where its puppet Punjabi Muslim elite could be conveniently installed. Obviously this would never happen, even in Punjab, let alone the whole of the Indian subcontinent.
    This is also the reason why Sikhs never even feature in these partition debates, despite the partition line actually being drawn right across their core territory. Because the Sikh perspective will puncture the premises and assumptions of the whole discussion and expose its malafide intentions.

The British army would secure the route from SuezCanal to Australia and also they resist the entry of the Soviet Union in the Middle East.The British employed three agents Gandhi, Jinnah and Ambedkar io execute their plan. Gandhi refused to accomodate Fazal Ul Haq of Bengal, Allah Bux of Sindh, Sikander Hyat Khan of Punjab, Khan Abdul Gaffer Khan of NWFP and Khan of Kalat of Balochistan. Ambedkar was against the freedom of India always. Jinnah was promoted by the British.Gandhi even in 1943 prepared a Partition Plan. He gladly accepted the British proposal without any opposition.

    Where were the huge Hindu-Muslim friction and riots prior to partition? There were none prior to 1935.
    Last but not least, Hindus were increased as a percentage of its population after the partition in the new nation of India. Yet did the new Indian nation become more repressive and dominant of Muslims after its independence? The answer is a resounding no. No one will question that the Muslims in India are more free and prosperous than the Muslims are in Pakistan.

      @naumanshah5019 5 лет назад

      Mohit Dhanwani Then why do you export beef to other countries? I guess when you’re making money off of it, then it’s okay. Secondly, idol worship is not permissible in Islam, as a matter of fact, it’s the biggest sin you can commit. Does that mean, I should stop all the Hindus from going to Mandar? The Quran says “There is no compulsion in religion”. People are free to practice whatever they want. If they choose to worship idols, then let them do it, it’s between them and God. Similarly if somebody chooses to eat beef, they should be able to do it cuz you consider Cow holy, they don’t! In a secular society, the state doesn’t tell people how they should follow their religion. If a Muslim couple wants “triple talaq” as their basis for divorce, because it’s part of their religion, then let them do it. Nobody has the right to interfere in their business! As far the issue of women not going to schools, that’s just pure ignorance and it happens in some ignorant Hindu families in the villages too. Any way, why are we even discussing this issue, this has nothing to do with the subject matter. You’re trying to sidetrack us by committing whataboutism?

    • @mohitdhanwani6431
      @mohitdhanwani6431 5 лет назад +4

      @@naumanshah5019 Height of hypocrisy it's part of Islam let them do it but if something else is part of someother religion you are not secular. What kind of logic is it. You say Islam doesn't restrict anyone from idol worship then why is it against the law in many of the Arab countries to do the same in public and what if the same counties I want to eat pork will I be allowed to do so. Many things are written in Islam but how many are actually followed and how many are twisted by others so that it can benefit them.
      And lastly regarding the export of beef, most of the states exporting beef are in the south like Telangana, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu where beef consumption is legal where as in the most of the Northern states its illegal to consume beef so if you are not respecting Hinduism its fine but atleast respect law.

    Sabriyah Saeed you spoke about British Raj separation not independence India,Let me tell you Bengal was the First Political place where hibernated political thoughts & ideology But Later the politics was took over by Three Gujrati Jinnah,Gandhi & Patel,Later Nehru joined with them after losing Mughal Empire,except Aurangzeb who was cruel to Sheik not only that he was very bad with his sister,who murder her boyfriend who was a poet,Losing Mughal Empire Muslims was Backward,they didn't accept British Raj easily because of hypocrisy,cheater,looters,bandits,and so on.Hindu & sheik people took the chance to Learn Unglish or English.Most of the Hindus wanted to get out from Muslim ruler,they portrayed Sivaji as their ruler,now BJP Government put him as Hero of Hindustan,Barat or you want to call it as India ? Later Muslims accepted English & British ruled dividing role among the Hindus & Muslims.Now are born in UK you speak in English,if you are born in India I don't know which place your forefather migrated ? You should speak in those Language.Now Language & Culture of every ethnic people has a glorious history,Unfortunately due to Both Fundamentalist Brahmin & Maulana always wanted to create problems.All those riots occurred during British Raj & after separation is due to fanatic & Fundamentalism of Hindu & Brahmin.It is a shame both Pakistan & India,they MUST LEAVE KASHMIR immediately.and Free this state as independent sovereign country.Otherwise Both countries in near future will Loose many parts of their territory and will join with to make a Greater independent country in near future.It will occur within 10-15 years.I don't want to mention which will be seperated Like Berlin wall will Fall soon.Language & Culture is the First then comes religion.When Nabi Karim SWS went to Medina to Mecca he made an agreement with both Muslims & non Muslims,putting his hand on his chest on the right side he was telling" oh ! My Beloved Motherland I am returning my home,while he entered Mecca he uttered the word"Peace be with you"he never utter the word "You become Muslims"even during Mughal period their was a tolerance among Hindus & Muslims.Many Generals were Rajput & hindus,even Muslim Emperor married Hindu women.They put them as Queen,there are many instances and examples are there.So your conversation and Logic with time & years to come has nothing to do what will happen in near future ? Will India Pakistan or Bangladesh will change it's Geopolitical Map in the Global history ? But they will not merge with one state But there will be another states within this subcontinen

    He did not forget to attack on Hindutva and that itself speaks about his "Islamo-fascist" mentality. India should have become Hindu nation after partition but We fell prey to pseudo-secular Gandhi.

    India was never one country. Borders constantly change. The world will not accept a unified people from the Hindu Kush to the Bay of Bengal.

      World has little say in it. People from region creates boundaries and follow them.
      Look at issue of J & K and Ladhakh, world has little say in it. As it is bilateral issue between the two nations: One the legitimate successor of the land and the people i.e. the India and then other i.e. the Pakistan.

      @@hrushikeshkale00 The current borders of the Indian state were not created by the the consensus of the people living inside the borders. The issue of Kashmir has been debated upon innumerable times in the UN. It is of course due to the bad decisions taken in the beginning by the Indian government/leadership at that time.

    Little did the debaters know that soon India will be (‘Modi - fied’) into majority Hindu-Stan and it’s suppressed minorities, the very future that Mohamed Ali Jinnah was afraid of and therefore was determined to achieve Pakistan.

    It wasn’t a debate about Pakistan and India . If there was a Pakistani spokesman then this Indian mentality of using any platform to demoralise Pakistan would never have worked. It’s just a shame that how mrsuleman used his words to add his own typical “mirch masala” against Pakistan .

    Today Pakistan is a peaceful nation that respects minorities. Whereas, india is in the grabs of cow lynchings, ultra right wing hindu nationalism, and Muslims are being killed on the regular basis.
    There have been MULTIPLE pogroms in post-partitioned india where thousands of Muslims were killed. No such thing happened with minorities in Pakistan (even though the situation is not perfect).

      I first thought you were joking, but it seems you are serious
      I just wanna state facts, check the demographics of both the country and compare it with what it was at the time of partition.
