this is educational in what NOT to do haha so still useful. i feel like most people wouldn't have even uploaded this out of fear of exposing there failure but ...... to quote thomas edison: “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”

I would have loved to see video footage of the mixing. What is the salt used for in the lye solution?

Im pretty sure they use it to make the soap harder because just using lye can be quite soft

That tree smell you’re talking about, could it be pine? Ya know, since it’s pine resin.

do you put the resin directly on the soap oils? Do not prepare the oleoresin by heating in the crockpot for 3 hours or more in an oil, and only after storing it for 40 days make the soap with the oleoresin ready?

giusi scarsella this is Cold Process...I added the resin while I was heating the oils. Once it was all melted I added the lye water. It hardened FAST! I actually re-batched this soap by force hot process.

Ok, I thought that the resin should mature in the oil, I saw recipes made this way!
      But it works the same😊

      Ok!
Now I found it on a site here in Italy and I translated it, the Benzoin oleoresin , but you can do the same with the pine tree etc.
How to get the Benzoin oleoresin.
Producing the benzoin Oloeoresin at home is very easy, even if you have to be patient because it takes about 3 hours. To do this, only Benzoin resin is used, which is found in the most well-supplied herbalists and an oil among those that withstand high temperatures.
      Ingredients:
      - 10 gr of Resin of Benzoin or others
      - 100 grams of rice oil (or olive, almonds ....)
      - food alcohol (not necessary for oleoresin but useful for dyeing)
Weigh the resin and transfer it to a stone mortar to crush it into very small pieces ... a kind of grain or even powder. It is very hard but slowly it succeeds.
Then put the resin and the oil in a glass container not too wide with high edges (preferably with the lid because after, for the dyeing, you will need - I used the glass mackerel in oil: P) that resist heat without breaking and put in a saucepan with water. Water must not enter the container absolutely.
Then bring on the fire and let go in a bain-marie over medium / low heat for 3 hours without ever boiling. During this period never leave the saucepan, rather take care to add more water when the present one will decrease due to evaporation.
From time to time, mix the oil even if you find it difficult because the resin with the heat softens and becomes rubbery. It will never completely melt.
After 3 hours you will find yourself with amber oil and lightened resin because it has left its oil properties.
Filter everything when it is still hot without trying to remove the resin from the container, rather, do not let it go down but leave it in the jar.
The oil obtained is oleoresin. Put it in a dark glass bottle, label it writing the date and oil used as a solvent and store it in a dry and cool place.
The resin that remains in the glass container away from the fire will harden quickly, perhaps imprisoning the spoon .. no fear! Pour into the glass of the alcohol (the one to make the liqueurs, not the pink one for household cleaning, I recommend) to cover it all and let it rest by closing the lid. After 5-6 hours the resin will be completely dissolved. Filter the alcohol obtained and bottle it. You have also obtained the Tincture of Benzoin, useful for making perfumes or inserting home made products

You should be aware that using that much hemp oil is not a great idea in soap making. Your soap would go rancid in several months if not a few. And you’re using EVOO..that’s also not great, very heat and light sensitive oil and you don’t even use anti-oxidant for this..
Just because hemp oil is good in lotion/directly on the skin does not necessarily mean it makes a great soap. You should really study more about fatty acids in soaps. Most experienced soapers do not ever use such heat sensitive and linoleic/linolenic rich oil in soap making..
Your soap looked it has riced. It’s because you didn’t soap at high temperature... As some suggested you can HP it but you can also make CP if you soap at high temp.
Soaping is not like cooking. You don’t just whip up a batch of soap without knowing much about ingredients or oils.. and you wanted to share this to the public..

Thanks for the comment. This was my first channel when i started out. This video was about 4yrs ago and I actually had so much fun from my mistakes😂. I def love this soap as I have refined my formula since then. I make different types of pine resin soaps including black spruce, pinon pine and once in a while white spruce (which smells extremely strong when melting it). 👌☺️
