I really don't know why the view count for these podcasts are so low, because this is outstanding content from two people who are embedded deep in the game, especially Osman who literally writes for the biggest cricketing website in the world, where Ahmer is the tortured fan who tries to peace together the pieces of this tortured puzzle, to try and make sense of the senseless that is pak cricket. Please keep up the good work fellas this is quality shit 🤞🏾💯

To Usman's point that when will Babar evolve, he will never evolve because there is no competition within the team, who can bat as well as Babar, so complacency comes in.
But for Indian and Australian teams, Virat and Smith knows if they wont evolve or keep up with modern cricket someone better will replace them.
Babar is not even evolving as a person. He is not the first one who came from a humble background without much exposure. Even if we look at Shadab from 2017 to 2024 we see a big difference in terms of personality and maturity. Don't see that with Babar

This is the best review on the series. Totally agree with both of you. Babar per.. mujhe abb bus ghussa ata hai when he speaks to the press. aisi bongiyan marta hai. The 180 runs is par/ issi per hum khush hain (hum= Babar n mgt) .. is SO frustrating. There is no progression. No forward movement. Grr!! Thanks for a great episode once more, guys!

He’s the captain. If he’s telling the team 180 is our aim that’s what the team will aim for. Should we just applaud him for playing at 50+ avg but at a SR that’s hurting his team because he’s setting the wrong targets?

I heard Babar's press conference, and he put it exactly like Osman said. While hearing it, I was like can Babar even do basic arithmetic in his head? Can someone at least not prepare him on what to say so that he doesn't make a fool of himself and Pakistan Cricket?

babar cannot put away a bad ball in the powerplay. he places far to much value on his wicket. he'd rather play a dot or try to penetrate a tight gap with a drive that will 7/10 times go to straight to a fielder. he seems to be the only one with no role at all. its like an unwritten rule that whoever is on the other end with babar has to play with a much higher strike rate and take bigger risks no matter what the match position is or what form a player is in. one individual cannot be allowed so much leeway with regards to wasting deliveries quite simply cuz t20 is changing real fast. without a bowling attack like we had in the 07-13 era and absolute roads for pitches pakistan cannot rely on the bowling wins you matches mantra at present the batsman have to bail them out theres no other way to be contenders.
For once I'm glad that there aren't more views on this podcast. For those not wanting to waste time on this show like I did, what they keep saying is that babar is outdated and Pakistan team is shit and has lack of ambition. Not disagreeing with what's being said but no point in making the same point 6 different ways. Also, they won't admit it but entire opinion is being driven by watching IPL in case of osman and ahmer tu doesn't even watch the games and comments on the basis of scorecard
Love it. I agree with most things. Other major countries have already been using bilateral T20 series to give their second string players opportunities. That is the only way these series can have any meaning.
Pakistan are playing cricket from a different planet (unfortunately). They make 180 and say "wah ji wah" when other T20 sides, as Osman noted in the IPL, are racking up nearly double that. Great analysis of Babar by Osman, he's simply too safe in the pursuit of security and individual records.
Whenever Pak play with positive intent, they perform well. In 2017 Champions Trophy, Fakhar Zaman added aggressive approach and Pak won CT trophy. Similarly, Haris played some quick cameos and Pak reached T20 final in 2022.

I feel like sincere analysts (including you folks) should create a dream realm of pakistan cricket and chat on that..where rehan ul haque, hassan cheema are leading team selection, wasim Khan is back as MD, Chairman is just an honorary position with no real powers, haider azhar is team manager, able foreign coaches are hired to the NCA alongside Andy flower to the national team, retain able local coaches like Abdul Rahman, Azhar Mahmood

i think in modern cricket.....200 is par score more or less regardless where you play......powerplay score should atleast be 70....pak cricket strategy is seriously dated and becoming uninteresting with each passing day.....players like azam, saim and others who want to play the modern game will eventually become estranged with the national setup and play league cricket only which in all honestly they should do....i am also glad to hear it from you guys that bilateral t20s are completely pointless with so much t20 cricket being played
Pakistan cricket is at its absolute lowest........which mean they're about to pull of one the greatest comebacks in the history of cricket(again).
NZ's first class infra is really good. The gap between their domestic cricket and international cricket is a small one. That's why their talent pool of international level cricketers is say, around say 40. Even average players coming out that system will be good enough to compete at international level. Same is the case with Aus, Eng, India and SA. Whereas countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to higher degree, Pakistan to a lesser extent has to depend on generational prodigal talents. Like SL would be a force to reckon with when they will have a De Silva, Mahela, Sanga, Murali, Vaas, Jayasuriya, all prodigal talent in the same team. Whereas an average cricketer from Australian Cricket System - Fames Faulkner is talented enough to win you a world Cup Final.
Lack of intent is hurting Pakistan. The captain needs to change the approach and lead from the front. The fear of getting out is what keeps them from hitting and improving their game.
The central idea and the summary of the podcast and overall PCT dilemma is that : Shahid Khan Afridi was way ahead of the time, and now the need of the hour! Was also a great bowler in T20s, plus a gun fielder. Wasted no deliveries and swung from early on as a batsman. Basically a near-perfect T20 player

Babar Azam is a good player but a very below average captain who will never win a trophy. PCT will lose yet another tournament in June.
What you guys seem to forget is that kohli has rohit Sharma, pandaya, pant and so many more match winners, root has stokes, butler. Smith has Cummins, starc and Warner. Kane also has match winners. But who does babar have that we know can easily win a match or finish a match, we have no proven quality player who performs on a consistent basis. It’s very easy to critique babar but give him the same players as the fab 4 has and he will give you results. The fact that pak went to semis and finals the in past t20 world up is a achievement on its own.

They lack the capability, capacity and above all honesty to do better. PCB has become a tail end of Pakistan internationals' career, they hang on to it for their life, they'll salvage whatever they can, you can't guess what's bigger their egos or their greed,,,,,Pakistan cricket has always been like this, it's now that other cricket nations are moving forward at a pace that PCB is clearly not catching up with,,,,,,it's not the player, it's PCB.
