Those mesh jackets get really cold when the sun goes down. I carry a very lightweight windproof top that I can put on over the mesh jacket. The air trapped in the mesh then acts like a down jacket - really warm for that late night ride home. ☺ Another great review, thank you!
Looked like standard seat = the optional accessory comfort heated seat fitted has orange stitching. But with rear cylinder roasting chestnuts on an open fire a refrigerated seat would be more use more of the time! You can set up 2 short cut favourites so heated grips etc can be accessed without scrolling thru’ menus, but I’d still prefer a dedicated button.
Good to see Carlos out and about. Top bloke he is, Had a few guitar lessons from him some time back when he had less beard lol. I should catch up with him sometime. All the Best Richy, keep up the good work.
I like your reasoning for not getting a KTM. Your videos show it is an excellent bike. Real beast, real danger of losing your license. People who I know, that have them, absolutely love them.
Awesome review Richy!!! Really appreciated and your enthusiasm says more words than anything else. One question: is this bike nimble in the tight corners and stable in the wide fast curves? I understand that is also quite "light" in the slow speed or in the garage. Can you confirm or add something more. Excuse my english, cheers from Rome Italy.
I am going to miss that bike and I have never bloody ridden it lol! Thanks I had never considered KTM, but definitely worth a test ride. Heard the 390 is a dream too.
Love this video. Id like to ask u to think of something for your channel . I miss the lock down songs even though im still on lock down isolating so i can care & help the elderly without endagering them . 5 months of this isolating is really tough . but when all this madness is gone and everyone everywhere can get back to the old normal(??) I want to try to fly over with my bike hopefully next summer for WB weekend . i was thinking it would b neat to hear your band do something completely different . thre is a iconic instrumental song that would b so neat so great to kick off your fantastic weekend . I dont know if u know it . Machine Gun . such a fun song . I havent heard it for years but I had a wonderful dream where i was flying just above the trees . A little unnerving , unnsettling , but exhilarating. The song was in that dream and it doesn't leave my head . lol. Anyway i thought it would b epic at WB weekender . something that seems to me from seeing so much of what u do it would b so different . maybe way to far out of your comfort zone .lol . i dont know because i have no comfort zone . sorry this is so long winded
This bike is a wheelie King, it is a bit more refined but not as Germanic, has a wildness about it . Not as precise as a sports bike in feel and suspension isn’t as plush as say a GS but it’s far more exciting than a GS. I’m glad I didn’t sell my 16 rr the SDGT is a fantastic bike but will be even better in time. Gotta say I’m a bit over the adventurer segment I never went off road when I had a Rally GS maybe in 10 years I’ll be back .
Hey Rich, did this demo bike have the Track Pack software installed? Or was it standard and maybe you turned the MTC off? Thanks in advance... Edit: Think you answered this later on in the video but interested in the Track Pack answer anyway... cheers
Rich. You may remember my comment 6 weeks or so ago when I chastised the 7 (The SEVEN) haters, and condemned them to a sub-manhole, gonad-ically (new word 😂) end, with rats, whilst tied to a chair in a sewer, after your Tom Petty "Wont back down" rendition, and my comments about Carl and his utter passion as a bassist (and Jeeeeesus how much I loved that video) - always the least sexy in a band - and yet a band is useless without a guddun, Imagine then, if you will, for a pilchard in Cairo, 5 months away from his family and so seeing you meet up together with Carl was beyond awesome. Please pass that on to him mate. I googled him after that vid, so I know his pedigree, Don;t know him, same as I don;t know you - but love the pair o'ya for your passion in what you do. Nos pi55 off, I'm busy 😘😁😊👀😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
By the way, no you're not crazy I deleted my comment and re-posted instead of editing it shortly after posting, I think that's why it lost the first heart. 😁
"Nipple are gonna cut me jacket off" I find it disturbing how relatable that comment was to me riding on a cold day with a mesh jacket in 12 degrees LOL
@@RichyVida I’m really torn between this bike and a Multistrada Pikes Peak. The crazy thing is, bike to bike, the 2020 SDGT here in the states out the door (tax, title, tag fees) is about $20,000 on the dot and the Pikes Peak is about $26,000 out the door. They are separated by $6k, which leaves me about $1,500 to buy some nice riding gear and put another $4,500 into exhaust or whatever on the Super Duke. That being said, I’m leaning on the SDGT. Of course there is the BMW GS1250 and the KTM SAS.. decisions.
Looking at getting a touring bike to do some 2 up riding Richy ,torn between the H2 sx and this...not ridden either yet....you’ve ridden both...opinion👍🏻
Thanks for noticing.. I actually produced this vid to follow a team ride with the lads. That one taking a lot longer than I anticipated, but, at the end of that one, I was saying how it would be the last ride on the GT. then wanted this to follow, starting with “no, no, no. I have to ride it again” Make sense? 👍
raluxgaza We had a 11 day run of 94* or higher road mine everyday for 150-200 miles even in town don’t notice the back cylinder heat. Its not like a v-twin cruiser where you are actually sitting on the back cylinder there is a pretty good air gap.
Rich - as they say in my part of the world - you’re a case! Looks like a great bike BUT so ugly (normally ugly is to be admired but not here), perhaps too powerful for the road for its intent and sparse distributors. Are you buying one - that’s the key question mate. Wish you well. Alan
Of all the things I love about this bike, their is one huge problem for me and it must be an age related thing. Why do you have to scroll through all those menus just to turn the heated grips on? Whats wrong with a button? No taking your eyes off the road , just press and go. Like 8 said. An age thing. Lovely machine though
He’s the most boring bloke I’ve seen! Talks about how good the bike is , sadly he’s not capable of taking it to it’s limitations, from the few vids of his I’ve watched
@@mobleyuk then don't watch, it's that easy. Or better still, take one out and ride it to its limitations, then pop the vid of you doing it up on RUclips and see how long it takes the old bill to come knocking on your door, once your a well known Tuber! Love it Richy, great bike, the heated seat is a option, I’ve got it on my superadventure and it’s lovely, perfect in the winter
If you had to choose between the Africa Twin or the Super Duke GT which would you prefer?
I honestly don’t think you can compare the 2 fairly. The GT has so much more power

You made me laugh when it went from a chilly 14 to a very cold 11 degrees! As bikers we all know that feeling !

Yes and yes! Amazingly well balanced machine. Brutally quick, and absolutely solid on the road.

heated seat is a powerparts option looks like you have the standard seat on.
Thought you would love he GT, I have the year17 model and I think the one you rode is more refined. Great video
How does this compare to the adventure s 1290? Surely the extra legroom it offers gives better comfort than the Duke?
Glad you had a good time with her brother!✌😜
😍😍
I can't wait to see the new model next year in my head I've have one ordered already 🙌😁😍

Try Fortnine he seems honest to me
On the back of this vid I test ride this bike twice. My new 2020 model arrived Wednesday. Pls have a look at my Steve sherlock vid to have a look lol.

as great as it looks, sounds and seems I could never justify that money. I can think of 2 bikes I could get for that money. Maybe even 3.
I wondered where KTM got the inspiration for the style of the front end. It’s based on the head of the Mondoshawan alien from The Fifth Element!

Would you swop your VFR for the S Duke GT ?
No

Darn I want this bike, only concern is the rear cylinder heat. We have 30+ degrees celsius all year round.
Could be an issue. Sadly, I didn’t get chance to ride it in those climates..

Looks to be almost upright on the side-stand
Yes, not much of a lean...
11 degree's celecius an issue?
Twin or GT if you had choice to have one ?

Yes be prepared for that, and it is very easy to ride. You just need to be sensible :-/

You can set up short cut "favourites" so you don't have to scroll thru' main menus, but you have to RTFM to know that!
What happened at 2.27?
What do ya mean?
