I feel your pain regarding the installation. I installed this a few years back on my SuperDuke and at least one of the stock wires was too short. I kept trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I contacted Evo-Tech and as usual, their customer service was outstanding! They immediately sent me an extension cable which made the part finally fit correctly. I wish they would have included it with the kit, but at least they responded promptly and sent what was needed at no cost to me. I have used their parts for 3 different bikes and the quality is consistently amazing. Thanks for the great content.

Yeah they're great! I mailed them today as I need bigger spacers for the indicators. Quality is the best! I've always had their radiator guards on all my bikes.

Ordered the tail tidy for my XR. Went through the instructions that you can download, sent it back unopened. Lesson learned, now I do a lot of research before I click to buy! Do look better than stock. Nice work 👍

Aye, when it got to "cut the wires to........." bmw's have weird looms! All of my sports bikes had a tail tidy, rear hugger and taller screen. Didn't bother when I went the gs, xr, rt route

  • @Sion_Jones

Just fitted an this to my 2021 GT and its exactly the same procedure as here on the older gen. One thing I cocked up on was not bunching up the indicator wires inside the tail tidy. I thought I'd just feed them through into the bike and tidy them up under the seat, but the indicator connectors do need to be in the slot as it says in the manual. RTFM!😂
Don't forget to put the foam sticker on the back inside edge of the tail tidy too. This wasn't in the instructions.
Overall, it's a slightly fiddly job needing only basic tools, but definitely worth it and feels top quality too.

The install on my 790 was quite alright, at least didn't have any problems with cable length. But yeah, I probably spent a good hour in the garage installing the kit. If I remember correctly the only thing in the manual that didn't match reality was the color of one wire but a quick google solved that.
As always, great video! We're so lucky to have you, TMF, Lambchop, teapot etc. creating quality content for us to enjoy. Keep it up! :)

Think it's the arm that makes this one slightly more of a pain! The R&G was the other option, and that one has no arm, just the plate bracket. All turned out well in the end, but probably not the best project for those with little patience 😂😂 I have the patience of an oyster😜

Mate, I just did this upgrade on my GT. I agree, its nowhere near as straight fwd as the instructions made it look! The hardest bit was getting all the wires stuffed in without crushing or pinching anything!
    Things I like:
Looks great compared to the old tail
Its solid! Materials are high quality
    Things I don't like:
Its so solid that its actually quite heavy, pretty much as heavy as the oe one! I'd have been quite happy if it was plastic and therefore a bit cheaper
The aluminium shells don't quite close completely, a bit worried water will get in and rust the connectors
overall, it looks ace but I think the design could be better

I’m interested to see if you get water spray up you’re back from removing the fender. And I know you don’t have the factory bags but I’m wondering if the turn indicators will clear the factory bags? Thanks for the video I’ve been looking at this particular product

    • @thelikeablerider8800
      @thelikeablerider8800  4 года назад

Yes this does fit with the KTM panniers as I have it now. I've got some spacers coming to widen the indicators, after that they probably won't. Spray will be worse for sure, but tbh I wasn't impressed with the stock tail, with regards to stopping water spray. I always ride with a tail bag on, so hopefully that'll take the brunt of it.

    • @rkbuttonindrydenont

Thanks. That was my question as well. I bought an aftermarket tidy tail, and turn signals DO rub on my panniers, now they are scratched. (And definitely lots of water spray on the back in wet weather, just have to wear rain gear)
