To quote you........."We are here for such a short time. What a shame to use that time feeling like an imposter. Our true gift is to live as our true selves...right here..today." Life is waaaayyyy too short to focus on our negatives. Thank you for this gift. And, I would also like to tell you a quote. I don't know who wrote it.......but it has been on my bulletin board for a few years now. "You can't spend your whole life planning what will make you happy tomorrow. You have to make yourself happy today.....Because ONE DAY....You will be out of time."
Thank you. It feels like I am speaking here or you are stating my fears and insecurities. Your pain is helping people like me and perhaps you experienced it so you can help others. Thank you again
Hmmmn. You almost had me. I've watched a bunch of these videos. It seems like a lot "motivators" have glommed on to something quite real that they just don't really get. It doesn't matter what endorsements you get or evidence that you really are as good at what you do as people say, the simple fact is that you CANNOT let go of the feeling that "they will find you out". I think it's a paradox. If you can overcome it or let go then you really didn't have it to begin with.
I'm planning to apply for a senior position job, but my impostor syndrome is kicking in and it's telling myself that I don't qualify and I don't have what it takes to do the job... sigh...
I dont think imposter is the correct word for the feeling. The definition isnt appropriate. Success survivor guilt, low self esteem is more like it. A lot of it comes from your natural environment. When we achieve success after we have lived a life surrounded by others and our past selves who dont achieve success. It is very difficult to adjust. Which feels like being an imposter when in all actuality its just uncomfortable
imposter syndrome? Sounds like insecurities. Maybe you want to tackle that and head on. Grab hold of them like a ddog with a bone and see if they dont wither away.

I didn't know that I have been paralyzed by this syndrome and, whether I should be upset or happy discovering who I am.
