The Volkswagen Atlas is a mid-size crossover SUV manufactured by the German automaker Volkswagen since 2017. Developed mainly for the North American and Chinese market, the vehicle is based on the Volkswagen Group MQB platform. Outside the North American market, the vehicle is marketed as the Volkswagen Teramont. It is positioned above the long-wheelbase Tiguan and below the smaller but upscale Touareg.
The Volkswagen Chattanooga Assembly Plant (or Chattanooga Operations LLC) is an American automobile assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The plant was formally announced in July 2008 and was formally inaugurated in May 2011.
Production began in April 2011 with the model year 2012 Passat B7 (initially called the Passat NMS (New Midsize Sedan)), tailored to the US market,[4] with a projected annual production of 150,000 cars. Passat production ended in December, 2021.
Production of the Volkswagen Atlas commenced in 2017. Production of the electric Volkswagen ID.4 commenced July 26, 2022
The entire facility includes approximately 45 acres (180,000 m2), and is constructed on a 1,400 acres (6 km2) parcel of the 6,000-acre (24 km2)[18] Enterprise South Industrial Park in eastern Chattanooga.
The industrial park comprises land that was once an ammunition plant known as the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant (VAAP),[19] which manufactured up to 30,000,000 pounds (14,000 t) of TNT (trinitrotoluene) per month during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The Volkswagen facility is near a remaining storage area containing storage bunkers once used to store TNT. The site features nearby hiking, biking and walking trails, picnic areas, and overlooks, known as the Enterprise South Nature Park.

This factory was supposed to be in my hometown of Savannah, GA. They cleared fifty acres of trees to prep for the building of the factory and then the Democrats of the county said they wanted more tax revenues so VW pulled out.

Why don’t the Automotive OEMs use recycled plastics to make plastic side panels and bumpers for their vehicles similar to what the Saturn division did? Plastic recycled fender and outer door panels are less likely to be damaged than steel panel. If one of these panels were damaged a customer could order one from the manufacturer and simply remove and replace the damaged panel with little effort. This would be great for taxi, Uber or Lift drivers.

They're not bad, I've definitely got stuff on them I wouldn't want in my eyes and they're all scratched up enough where glare is a real pain when you're working on the outer interior. I can only assume my actual glasses underneath or my eyes would've got damaged instead. They make custom pairs too with an allowance they give so that's nice at least
