This is real fishing as are all of your videos modern carp angling with bite alarm has spoilt the fishing of today nothing better and more exiting than the basics of seeing the fish pick your bait up, loving the vids man
Thanks to this video I caught 3 totally awesome, 6/7 pound+ carp and my friend Ben caught a lovely looking mirror! Thanks for all your videos! As a 17 year old angler with all summer to fish I am really enjoying your channel and think its definately the best fishing channel on youtube :) keep it up Greame & Mike
Just got into carp stalking a few weeks ago and this video was brilliant! GP taught me how to tie hooks and MP taught me how to use chum mix. I was over the moon with this. The bread bit was just fab. What a couple of really nice guys. You are both lucky to have such a nice dad and son good job Thank you
What an amazing video lads these little tips help me the dog biscuit trick is a classic I'm pulling 9-10 lb carp out like no tomorrow.keep these videos coming
If the carp are not too big, say up to 10lbs,try a three foot length of 5/6lb fluorocarbon as a leader to the hook. Might make the difference. And try dipping the bait in a sweet flavouring to give it an edge. Good luck.
Really helpful videos you have here. I've never fished for carp before, I'm gonna get my self some equipment in a week or so and go try out some of these techniques! Can't wait!
what a great way to catch carp ever since I have been using this method I have had loads of carp. This is the proper way to fish. The TAfishing guys use unflavoured dog biscuits but I find if you add brown sauce to the water it works better. The pyramid bait is dynamite it works so well and I can cast it to where I want it. Thank you Graeme and Mike. (sorry if I spelt your name wrong)
Filming with them yesterday and getting ripped up by powerful carp a lady behind us thought it was her phone ringing !! We even had barbel on them earlier today on the River Severn. Can certainly find no faults with them and they look like being our major reel for the future.Just waiting for the larger models to come in.
Yes, warmer weather is better. But I have also caught carp on floating baits well into October. Not on clear, cold nights, but low pressure/low cloud, which stops the air temperatures dropping too much.
Hi graham and mike! I love all your videos and they have helped me loads in all aspects of fishing! I have just purchased 2 avon 1 1/4 rods and a small fixed spool reel! I can't wait to try them out at the weekend:)
Ive always carp fished with feeder or waggler rods guys too. i have carp rods ive tried, but much more fun and exiting times to be had on lighter feeder/waggler tackle than carp gear. my carp gear is catching dust in my cupboard lol. regards and tight lines : karl.
Excellent video guys :-) I used bread, dog biscuits, fake baits, and marshmallows. Caught 29 carp between 2lb and 8 1/2 lb and 7 roach yesterday. Your putty trick worked a treat. Thanks for the video
paddy Homebrew That's a great catch. At many waters you can outfish regular baits with surface baits. As long as its not too windy. A deadly method, and visually exciting too.
Great Video as always I use a 5ft 6 pro am Shakespeare rod with an Okuma reel loaded with 6ib line and this landed me a 19ib mirror with your pyramid bait. Keep up the good work and could you please do more vids about fishing streams
Graham, you should try bills farm fishery in Solihull. It is amazing for carp and roach. I recommend 6:30 pm bread fishing because the carp become very active and come to the surface. I've caught a 13.5 lb mirror carp with bread so I suggest it for you.
Great video, thanks for sharing! A question: I recently went fishing in the Netherlands and we found some lake with carp constantly hovering up on the surface. After 48h of using a floatbread-montage comparable to yours, we had zero bites (whereas at home that method works just perfect for me if they hover underneath the surface). I was wondering if you had any idea why that might be - after all, at some point, the fish would need to feed, right? We had literally zero action and the fish just passing by the hook over, and over, and over again...
A tip for you Graeme and Mike. I always carry sewing thread in my box these days in brown or black. If the carp are taking the mixer biscuits but not getting hooked. Take a 3 inch piece of thread, make it into a loop, tie the two ends to the bend in the hook, then you're left with a loop on the hook, pull the loop through a biscuit, then instead of putting a bait stop on, take the loop end and put it over the point of the hook, keep it tight and it won't come off.....if the loop is too long wrap it round the hook a few times. It normally lasts all day but as it's only thread it can rot so remember to check it regularly.
Stock in right now,but flying out the door due to demand.T-shirts,Polo shirts,Hoodies. Go to our website and you'll see Mike in modelling pose with the whole range.Either get in touch with him,or go direct to the shop. We'll post straight out,and of course you get a free DVD as well.
I don't know anywhere in the UK that lets you use bait for trout, its all generally fly only. No doubt trout will take virtually anything off the surface if you throw plenty in.If its allowed, I guess you could try it.Its used more for carp in the UK summer and autumn though.
A "pole" is a rod without a reel used primarily for match fishing in Britain. It has a piece of elastic which extends out to play the fish.No reel.A "spinning reel" was previously called a "Threadline" reel, then a "fixed spool" reel whereby the spool is fixed and a bale arm lays the line on the spool in an oscillation spread to ensure smooth casting.I don't know what a "conventional" reel is.Here in the UK a fixed spool,or spinning reel is the norm. They sell millions. The rod is standard too
We are just waiting for the first shipment to get in the country.Mail Mike on our website and whatever the final price is we'll let everyone know, plus make a great deal by throwing another item in as a special T/A opening offer. But we need a contact first as it looks like the first batch is going straight out the door.First come, first served.
father and son fishing is there any better way to fish?........ i think not love fishing with my son great work graeme and mike reels look class and have a great ZIIIIINNNNGGGG!
We have been authorized by the importer to sell them, but want to do giveaways as a bonus as well. Get in touch with Mike so your name is on the list .We showed the first ones to a tackle dealer yesterday and he was impressed by the smooth running. We nickname them the Tok4000.
I'm fishing my local river which holds a small head of carp - mostly common with the odd ornamental. I've caught 2 in about 12 evening sessions which is actually not too bad as a few friends haven't caught over multiple years and it is generally a difficult venue for carp. I caught one by offering loose feed (corn) to a swim which had a couple of carp moving around on the feed and I got them competing and eventually one took the bait on ledger tactics. The second I caught by returning to a swim I had previously fished about an hour or so before which had some leftover bait laying about (maggot) and saw a fish, kept it feeding, and again placed in a ledger and caught the fish.Sometimes you can locate the carp milling around and I now pre-bait the swims where I have searched for a fish but not found any - hopefully to come back to find them like with my second carp. However, a lot of the time, the carp can be seen racing through the swim without stopping for loose bait. One took a piece of corn on the drop today as it passed through right on the inner margin below me at the same time as me throwing in some loose feed. Has anyone tackled this fishing behaviour and have any tips please? I was thinking fishing on the surface may get their attention as they pass through my swim and hopefully take the bait as they swim past like they did with my bit of corn on the drop - or even hopefully stop them in their tracks and get them feeding. They seem to stop and feed only sporadically.
Been watching your videos for a while now, think they are the best fishing vids on youtube. I like your philosophy , techniques and the humour! I've been away from coarse fishing for many years, but now enjoying going again and particularly trying out the methods that I've watched you using. This video is especially good, as over the last two weeks I've been trying for surface feeding carp with mixed success. Thanks for the tips and advice, I'm sure I can improve now!!!
Hi graeme and mike I've always just float fished with maggosts for smaller fish like perch, roach, etc because I didn't think I could handle a carp (I'm only 11) when a seven pound carp took my 3 maggots and I put him in the net! learning new tactics for carp this video has been great thanks a lot. P.S do you know where I can get oe of those awesome tokushima reels I can seem to find them on the internet! Tight Lines Wet Nets
Here in Britain the marketing of a commercial ball of bait called a "boilie" has dominated carp fishing.Of course worms, bread, sweetcorn, maggots etc all catch carp, but like everything in the world its all about "selling".Boilies are easy to buy and use, earthworms you have to collect. They can't really be mass marketed easily.Shame, but that's the way it is over here.Worms are not banned here. Its just a popularity thing.A lot of anglers are now going back to "Old School" baits and methods though.
Yes,we can sell them, but want to do a free DVD giveaway with them as well if we can.The importers say the first delivery is due in early September. But just get to mike with your contact first. We are starting to compile a list of people who want them.
sorry ignore my previous comment i was wondering whether you catch carp when the weather is warm because i have no luck surface fishing for carp when the weather is fairly cold and i would like to know if different weathers affect your surface fishing
hi guys was looking into buying one or two myself , they look great and i love the sound ! where do yous get them ? i cant find any online and the one or two i have wont ship to ireland! any recomendations? keep up the good work!
Just sounds like a mirror carp. They can be part scaled, fully scaled, or have a row of scales running along their back which we knew as a"Saddleback". I guess someone gives them another name nowadays.
Hi guys, love the show! Always full of useful tips and tricks =] Im looking to invest in a new reel at the moment and was wondering how you rated the Tokushima HK-4000? At the moment my choices are either the HK or spend the extra and go for the Shimano Exage, whats your opinion? Many Thanks Paul
Whatever the RRP is we will throw in something to make it a great deal.Mail Mike to get your name listed.we will contact you when they are in the country.

Thanks Alex! We're glad the tips are helping you. Nothing quite like catching them on the surface, it's good fun and great on light tackle.
Mikes lucky to have such a legendary dad and what an angler you are Graeme! You’re a role model sir.

I've looked for this lake online as I live locally but can't find it, would it be wood farms on Bills lane?

Another tip use chapstick or washing up liquid to keep your line on the top, you'll get alot more takes on pressured venues that way :)
here in the states we have a product called fun tac for hanging pictures on the wall i use it for the weight putty...
hi guys was looking into buying one or two myself , they look great and i love the sound ! where do yous get them ? i cant find any online and the one or two i have wont ship to ireland! any recomendations? keep up the good work!
Sometimes it's worth putting on a bubble float for some casting weight too, sometimes casting even a short distance can be tricky with only a hook.
Good luck!
Great video (y)

Nice videos you have here whats your PB for carp?
Here in Canada, floating bait is as likely to catch a mallard duck as carp. Start throwing chum out and the ducks, geese, and sea gulls have a feast.
Grate vid helped me alot Thanks
thanks for the help
This is fishing awsome
Thank you ,i liked this alot guys .very well put together....ps all the best for christmas ;]
Thanks, Merry Christmas!
Nice!
Hi guys, love the show! Always full of useful tips and tricks =]
Im looking to invest in a new reel at the moment and was wondering how you rated the Tokushima HK-4000?
At the moment my choices are either the HK or spend the extra and go for the Shimano Exage, whats your opinion?
Many Thanks
Paul
Yes we like the Tok 4000.Probably good in larger sizes as well. Has a nice tinkly drag which we like.
Keep in touch with Mike via our website.Reels in the country in a couple of weeks.Rods we are just sourcing.
Good video
Check out our earlier films.I always filmed in a bright yellow sweatshirt and caught loads of different species.
what model is reel guys, another great video :-)
Whatever the RRP is we will throw in something to make it a great deal.Mail Mike to get your name listed.we will contact you when they are in the country.
That very 1st carp you caught had some strange scale patterns, were they missing or was that just a normal pattern?
is this the same for like trout fishing in a farm or something?
Wait till we load up a big pike on one....we aim to get that on film, then the drag will sound !
Great video, can you do more pike videos on lakes please :)))
i think you should buy anther landing net i watch your vidios all day i am disbled i do go fishing with a friend i do take your advice you and your sons thank you for the vidios thay are great good to see you are not selling some thing john nottingham
