i've always said that the double axe is slept on. it does so much damage and easy to line up head shots. move speed helps make up for the weaknesses obviously as shown in the video, some people couldnt even get away with their hands out so good luck staying out of range of it. but regardless even at lower speeds you can still make it work by being smart about your swings.
Pete is this kind of playstyle possible in normals or is the gear necessary to make the build work? Looks like you don't have too many items on but I'm guessing the ones you are wearing have ms on them
honestly people just need to stop running, the right way of playing against you is probably to just fight you head on since you are basically running a speed build, too often they just run and get run down for free, not realising you are actaully quite squishy
With his hp pool, you are gonna need 3 hits at the very least while he only needs to hit you once. Keep in mind he's gonna be faster than you no matter what so no kiting whatsoever. Pretty sure the only thing faster than him is a full MS slayer fighter and even then he can just throw a torch at you to Achilles you for free (Which should not be in the game btw.) Since its hitbox is huge asf for no reason.
I’m the rogue at 9:58 I was so confused I made sure to check my corners and didn’t see you anywhere then you just swooped down and got my ass had to watched the replay to see what happened didn’t even know you could get up there. I’ve never seen anyone do that in all my time playing this game
It's always the quiet and calm ones... his entire setup for playing is something I've never seen and reminds me of the people who got REALLY good at Quake with a trackball.

I love the double axe and use it as my main for solos, but I do run into trouble with longsowrd parry. I feel like the hitbox is huge for the doulbe axe and its almost impossible not to get parried.
Might be just me but, how are you that fast that you even catch up to rogues with weapon out? I use +5 on my boots and trousers with agility cape, and if possible jewelry, yet you seem to be just. faster lol
once 2x headshot dmg is out rogues are cooked fr 💀 hr isnt even fun for rogues rn, I have just been grinding lvls for multiclass as thats the only thing that will save rogues at this point
rogue skill ceiling is also insanely high.. vincennt just posted a video doing multiple 1v3s as rogue so i don’t think it’s completely the class, it’s also a very hard class and usually a bit of a skill issue when people die on rogue. most players aren’t utilizing the rogues speed and range properly and they just go to melee to die to a barb.. of course he beats you.. he’s meant to.. so yeah i don’t fully agree with this but they do need some love for more casual players to enjoy more easily.
Failure on Rogue = skill issue Y'all are fkn used to 2-tapping people out of invis, so when you need to actually put some effort into your games you start bitching and crying.
@@Bael1993 i think rogue is kinda limited on some play styles but i feel it is in a decent spot as well. using hide now is just a buff kinda like rage is instead of land mining which is healthier for the game. i think to make rogue better besides multiclassing is fixing his base stats a bit and changing dagger mastery to 10% dmg buff and -5 move speed on daggers. not fun when warlock uses kris daggers better than rogue lmao.

No one said anything about rogues wanting to 2 tap people out of invis, stop projecting... As a solo rogue main we are experiencing a class identity crisis of creep for all and more importantly the recent nerf to our ranged/throwable dmg nerfs as a throwing knife does the same dmg as a torch and the knife has -10ms and all higher tier hcb/throwing knives have been gutted💀 (might as well stack torches for the same dmg and no loss of move speed) I have recent dms with SDF with this exact issue and he acknowledges the overstep.
@@Bael1993 I agree the skill cap is insanely high as it should be, I enjoy the difficulty of the class which is why I main it. The skill expression is great when successfully pulled off. But as I responded to the other commenter above with the recent ranged nerfs for knife throwables/hcb and creep for all is not healthy for specifically solo hr imo for current existing rogues and as you mentioned new rogues wanting to dabble with the class and/or get into the game in general. I once again only say this from HR solo voyager rank and above pov. Anything under voyager you can skill gap people still learning the game and their own class. I can make rogue work, but at the risk of the expensive kit needed vs other classes and their lesser need of gear dependency it just isnt as fun for me anymore to attempt the ap grind when I can just run normals and grind for levels when multi class comes out and then I can do more build theory to make up the difference of the nerfs. prior to creep for all and ranged throwable nerf rogue was healthy imo.
Blood tax + Achilles strike, blood tax gives you health back on hit and it has an interesting interaction with Achilles strike where the small(literally 1 damage) when someone moves after being hit procs the heal each time per instance of 1 damage

Double axe sound fun to play I have been going in normals lately to practice it cause I'm new and idk what weapon I want to spend gold on but omg the axes are cool
the meta used to be a viking sword and a battle axe or zwei. the viking sword you could run with and chase fleeing people and when they'd stand and fight youd use your double handed weapon for damage. you being new i'd suggest using a horseman axe with a round shield and a double axe or zwei as your power. the shield will honestly help in the early days of learning the game and in learning the rhythm of battle. get used to blocking first and when to actually attack. pete makes it look easy but its NOT. so use this to aspire to, but also, dont expect to play like this now or maybe even ever lol. peter the raged one is one of one
If you are a barbarian man I would maybe suggest the bardiche. It has good range, very good attack animations and an excellent block that most other weapons lack.
Barbarians are the new rogue you go in with cheap gear and move speed and the class can get some pretty good kills on geared people. You run at max move speed. Rogues are unfortunately no longer the role they used to be, they are just a ranged class focused on poison like a weird mid range ranger. I wish melee was more of a focus in this game lol
How can melee be a focus when barbs hit for 160+ and have 200 or more HP. Rogue/other melees can't compete in a 1v1 so it's just a kite war against whoever the slower player is

stack movement speed and not wearing any gear that lowers it. going chestless lizard with agility pants on barb, I have found to quite effective even without all the extra movespeed. I normally use rage tho cause I don't be shmoving THIS fast.

Damage doesn't matter as much as the movement. Wizards can 2 tap but from a distance, warlocks kite you forever. Oh yeah, and also what the bard doin?

To be fair I do miss out on savage roar and i might have high hp but since i have no helm or pdr i get 3 tapped by anyone ;c

With some patience and accels and drags you can get around parries you just have to be careful not to hit the sword

Battle axe does almost the same damage and swings a lot faster and has a good 2 hander combo with m1 m2 m1

these videos just show how mobs needs to not heal off torch.
I do have to sacrifice a lot like rage to just have a 1 time heal in battle and if i miss it I basically have no abilities

There is no way you catch up to players with holstered weapons while you are running with an -40 movespeed axe. This is fishy!
His headset is full movespeed meaning he can easily catch most people as he is also very good with his movement
