    I actually think this is bigger than what Aaron 'Wheelz' Fotheringham does in a way, although that blows me away every time i see him jump.But I, like Aaron, was born with spina bifida, and there lies the difference between us and this guy, we were born that way, always been that way, got used to it over the years. this guy was able bodied and has had to come back, not only physically as much as possible, but also mentally and emotionally, getting back on that bike after what happened last time he was on one takes some balls.

      respect my brother!!

    • @08g8gt
      @08g8gt 8 лет назад +15

      +xneverwalkalonex Yes, I agree. I am a paraplegic myself. What Aaron does is amazing for sure, but he is not paralyzed and can still move his legs and core muscles for balance and whatnot. I kinda think of him as a normal dude who just uses a wheelchair (to an extent as I know he is still effected by other things). He probably doesn't deal with a lot of the pain and issues that people who have spinal cord injuries too. Again, absolutely not bagging Aaron in anyway what so ever. He's an amazing dude.
      For this guy to do this backflip just a year and a half after being paralyzed is pretty sweet!

    • @kingbod55
      @kingbod55 3 года назад +1

      Coincidentally my big brother's name is Aaron. He was born with Spinal-Bifida and has never had use of his lower half. He has faced death and back and made me the proudest little bro ever!!

    • @MikeySkywalker
      @MikeySkywalker 2 года назад +1

      I agree. But they are both amazing. Bruce’s life was much more effected by his injury. He lost everything. Wheelz disability made him what he is. It’s totally different. But they both inspire me in different ways.

    You can tell the second he lands it's all over. I cried watching this, mostly because of how he was able to come back from that I remember that crash like it was yesterday, I remember being in the stands wondering if he would walk away from it, he is such an inspiration to me, as I also lost the power of my legs. I even just got to see my bike for the first time in a while and it was modified just for me, just like his! ❤❤

    I've seen things on the web much more brutal and gory than Bruce's crash, but it made my eyes well up in tears big time. Seeing his accident, his immediate recognition/understanding of the consequences, coming out paraplegic and THEN sticking a backflip, the floodgates opened. Bruce, I doubt this'll ever get to you, but if it does, just know that you absolutely HUMBLED ME BEYOND BELIEF. I've never been affected this way by a video in my entire life. Ever.

    This is the true hero story as laid out by Joseph Campbell. I don't know why Bruce Cook's story isn't a Hollywood blockbuster. People are starving for entertainment to go back to the traditional tale of the hero. This, as a movie, would be huge. Our society wants it, and needs it. Badly.

You guys deserve more than wwhat you have, there should be a TV show or something about you, instead of freaking Kardashians and shit. You bring something to people, to there soul. You teach them to not be affraid to push yourself, as soon as it is what you love. If you ever wanted to be deeply inspiring, well, you achieved like a boss!
