This video is certainly making me feel like I’m going in the right direction. On. 1991 pickup though, there are 8 total wires coming back to the rear of the truck. Grn/blk, wht/blk x2, grn x2, grn/yel, grn/wht, red/blk. Any ideas on how they would run in and out differently to achieve the same function? Any further help would be a life saver. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. My 94 has a hotwire running from the battery to the after market led's and it's making the job of adding a reverse light all that bit harder. Some people just shouldn't touch electrical if they're not prepared to do it properly!?
This is not the one I used I bought mine at NAPA but this is the same thing. IIT 16690 Trailer Converter www.amazon.com/dp/B004EKW0DC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OA10EbRGCJA3K
The tail lights off both lights go to the same wire. The turn signal or brake signal wires go to each turn signal wire separately then both ground wires go to the same wire out of the converter.
I'm an electrical idiot I know this video is 4 years old but I have lights like the ones you took off and can not get anything other then running lights if there's any way you could help me out it would be appreciated I need to know exactly what harness wires you ran to the 5 into 4 and all the steps between
Bro your video helped me jerry rig the 3rd stop light on my pickup! You saved the day and got me through inspection!
Awesome glad I could help!
Thanks for the video my 1982 was a total mess this helped me out !

Mattdread yeah it’s amazing some of the things that people hack together on wiring!
What did you do with all the ground for all the lights
Did you ever get the hazards to work? I can't seem to get my hazards to work at all :(
My lights are 5 wires and the truck is five wires, could I make this work still?
link to find one of these adapters? Doing something very similar with my 83 pickup

Im not sure how you wire both tail lights into the four wires?
The tail lights off both lights go to the same wire. The turn signal or brake signal wires go to each turn signal wire separately then both ground wires go to the same wire out of the converter.
