      I just saw a 1995 4Runner but the engine and tranny gone it was from Arizona it had no rust on it went to metal recycle but I did get a few parts from it before the guy sent it off... lot of parts of the same up until 1995 I learned like the 1990 steering gearbox is same 1990 to 95.

      For sure you probably find one in Arizona a lot of people start rebuilding the engines or head gaskets on these 3VZE and either finish it and have problems or they don't finish them. Thanks God I found a guy that knew what he was doing and he rebuilt my engine.. during covid it took 13 months I have no rust on my body of the 1990 but I still have all the original exhaust pipes just I have changed the muffler

    There's a couple of things needed that aren't mentioned in this video, namely the VSV and the separate engine harness. There's another harness in the engine bay, with both a line to the Tachometer (needed for the AC amplifier) and the compressor and VSV. This harness is needed for all trucks to run AC, I can't find a way to get it. I think it attaches into the fuse block in the engine bay, mines a carb'd non AC model so I wouldn't know.

    Im thinking of just getting a small air conditioner, and mounting it somewhere to the back of the cabin, so that it pushes air in through an opening/tube. It would have to run off a 12v-240v converter though... Or maybe there is a better option. I may need to get some kind of upgraded alternator if I do it, Im not sure

  • @LSD97123
    @LSD97123 3 года назад +2

    Actually, using junkyard parts for retrofitting AC can not be recommended. Being a closed circuit, each and every part of the AC system is important for its operation. And they go bad when left with for a long time.. All these parts are available brand new, and there are universal compressors, condensers, dryers on the market. You'll just have to fabricate some brackets for them to fit on any vehicle. All the plumbing should be done with new parts because there is oxidization going in those pipes after sitting for a long time. That dust of aluminum oxide won't be nice inside the components of the system. And make sure to replace all the flare type fittings with o-ring type fittings. Sometimes the flare types tend to leak a little bit of gas.

So basically if I have an 86 pick up with no ac components from factory, I’m still able to get the ac components compatible for the truck and guaranteed to convert it from no ac to having ac no matter as long as I get all of the components? Like everything should match up or line up as far as placement for condenser, evap box, blower motor, etc….? Basically 100% guaranteed and not to where I’d purchase parts for it and for none of it to fit and not have ac period still?! Thanks for your help in advance! 🤙🏽

      Hey, in theory if you grabbed every ac related component from another 1986 truck, then yes it should be all plug and play. Most of the parts (if not all) should be the same for 84-88 trucks. Keep in mind the engine should be the same, as to use the same bracket and AC compressor, pulley etc. I have never compared the parts from each year to ensure they're all the same, so please do your research. You can get some parts a the dealership, but some have been discontinued and will need to be located on parts trucks or ebay.
