Hi,Alex. The "First aid" items that you were afraid of ( with good cause) are good to have on hand. The little case of Naloxone is very important. It's an antidote for opioid overdose. This is taught in the St. John Ambulance ( first aid ) course. If you happen upon someone who looks like they have taken an overdose of something; you can give them the emergency dose of Naloxone ( its a nasal spray ). The kit contains 2 treatments plus 2 CPR face masks with one way filtered valve, 1pair of nitrite gloves and instructions. No needles. Even if the person did not take an opioid; Haloxone is safe. Just a little info for you.🙂
You should open the kit before you toss it. That is just the sort of place people hide money. There's no real risk in opening up something like that as long as your careful. There could be an uncapped used syringe or something so you'd want to be careful but I'd still open it and look.
Also, a naloxone kit is not garbage - if it’s unused, it could save someone’s life. Might have been good to donate somewhere in Edmonton. Ah well, Alex has to make quick decisions, and I don’t begrudge him that one.

Those bins are full of some high quality clothing and shoes..looks like he probably could afford to lose the limited amount of things he did. Great stuff
Good video. First unit showed the risk of minimal return from storage locker purchase. Second unit better but still no jackpot. Glad there were usable items found. Classic London Fog coat very cool. Pair it with a fedora.
Another great video, thank you for the laughs. I just got a message from Kastners letting me know my items from 1/04/23 auction are on the way. Exciting!!!
You want to list those books for sale as soon as possible. When it comes to college classes, it never fails that the latest edition is required, don't want to wait until they go too far out of date.
Apple seeds have cyanide in them but you'd have to eat pounds of them to feel any effect. lol There is also cyanide in other seeds and nuts including almonds. In fact the typical taste and smell of almonds (and marzipan) is caused by the cyanide.
You never know though. My friend bought a unit for $8 with five full garbage bags. 4 were clothes, the fifth had $5000 face value silver dollars in binders. I've been buying storage auctions since 1978, and have many good, and not so good stories. Some of my best finds were in units I paid the least for.😊
Le Chateau sure brings back memories. I haven't thought about that place in a while. Does anyone else feel bad that this guy isn't gonna see his stuff ever again or is it just me?
The second unit had some really nice items in it. The down coat looked like something was in the inside the inner pocket. I could be wrong. Thank you Alex and Melissa.😍
I have an instant pot and they are so useful. Did you know that it was invented in Canada? There are lots of recipes on line but I like the instant pot site which is actually very useful. The bins themselves are worth money especially the ones from the second unit but even regular rubbermaid ones sell well second hand.

Lovely to see Bill again. That was one interesting method of delivery onto the balcony Alex 🤣 Nice score Melissa!!! The kitchen bits & bobs (baking trays etc) might be worth hanging onto for Stephen when he goes to uni if he's not living at home
I enjoy all your videos, Alexander. I especially enjoy watching your interactions with Melissa, your family and friends. You all seem like really cool people to hang out with. Great finds. 😊
As soon as you opened the second storage bin I knew you would find way better things in there. It was the way everything was so well packed. Thanks for a great day my friend.
First Unit is a good example of a comment I’ve made before. Bring a 6’ folding table and a box of heavy duty contractor trash bags. Put a trash bag in the first big box (or tote) you open and place it at the end of the table. Bring the boxes up to a comfortable height either on the table or by sitting them on a full box or tote and sort right into the trash. Use the better bins and boxes, from the unit, to hold anything worth taking home or donating. Initially pick out the larger items for consideration, then tip the bins, boxes on their sides and run the goods over the table for visual review and right into the trash. Less risk of needle sticks or being cut and less chance of missing something small but valuable, like a good watch or jewelry. When the first trash bag is full, pull it and put in another. Having them in a box or tote holds the bag open, for faster filling. At home, or if I have a trailer with me, I bring a full size trash can for that job. In the end, you process the unit faster and end up with 3 groups. Trash, donate and take home. I try to get the take home into the cleanest totes and boxes so less mess comes into the house. If I’m bringing a trailer along, I bring along a group of stackable bins (lids too) to make loading the trailer easier.
Dear Brian Henry. 👍👌👏 That's exactly the way to do it! 2) But Mr. Archbold will always fiddle around with only one hand in everything and therefore always make a big mess. No matter if it is a storage room or a box or a complete hoarder house. He always unwraps everything and very often puts glass/china etc. unwrapped in boxes. I often felt 😱! Maybe sometimes this behaviour is even good for hiding really precious stuff from the camera/viewers. For instance this time the pocket watch was not unpacked and not mentioned again. However: All of this current stuff is still worth at least 1600 to 1800 bucks. Even despite the fact of all the things that have been donated (including the table and the lamp). So he at least doubled his money (plus the proceed fom/out of utube of course). Mainly he simply is a really good merchant. Best regards, luck and health in particular.
This is the way I do it with stuff from auction lots. I learned it without much trial or error after watching a few videos while in the hospital two years ago when I was first "introduced" to Alex and family. Locker Nuts does it very similarly, using a trash can, and/or trash boxes if he forgets his cans.
@@TiptonMama It's something you either learn from a mentor or learn for yourself, in time. You look at the photos of the unit and the size and decide what you go with you, in addition to gloves and masks. My kit often has packing tape, a stack of bins (with lids or flip tops), contractor trash bags and a hand truck, if I know that the particular facility lacks those handy rolling carts. The first auctioneer I worked with (25 years ago) used to say, only handle each item once, while sorting, so having the trash can, charity box and empty bin to go home, means you only touch each item once while on site. Pushing loose items around in bins means you might toss something out that could pay for lunch. Being organized with boxes and bins also makes stacking the trailer with the stuff going home easier. It can be loaded with boxes packed level or bins, leaving the loose stuff and odd balls (boxes with things sticking out) to go on top of the totes, dressers, etc. Packing cubes is easier then random stuff and if you are far from home can save a trip, when doing multiple or large units. Anything that saves time on site is good, then you can get on to the important thing --- lunch! LOL
@@Chr.U.Cas1622 I don't disagree with you about him being a fiddler, or needing good footage for youtube, but even he has to pay for the units and make a profit in the long run and just doubling up on storage units isn't often enough. You can go broke slowly that way, when the price of gas and dump fees are up and the commission you pay an auction house or consignment store to shift the goods. It's fun, but doesn't pay the bills. The first unit is a good example of what I would call and why I used it to make my initial comment. I've been doing this work for decades and can still be fooled into overpaying up front and really struggling to make a profit (after expenses) on some units. One that looks great in the on-line photos can be trash, smell like pet urine or cig smoke, which you don't know from the photos. Take care, Brian
@@brianhenry2385 Brian, that's all invaluable advice, so thank you very much for taking the time to share it with me. I really only ever saw a few of those storage wars shows and figured they were all for show, and while I love the idea of the hunt, it just didn't strike my fancy. Then laid up for 5 weeks, between ICU, and skilled nursing, I had a lot of downtime, and I couldn't focus a lot. Short videos with no plot were everything to me, and I did overed, after I was home, still recuperating, I learned far more than I realized. Purely by happenstance, I came across a local auction company, like Kastner's and started watching their auctions online, and to my surprise, I realized Alex had taught me a great deal about many of the lots I was watching. My first foray was to bid on a nice corner desk for my husband's home office. He'd been looking at getting one in the $300-500 range, and instead I paid $1.19 ha! He, and I were hooked. I haven't been able to really sell much the past few months due to illness again, so I'm looking to follow in Alex's lead again, and offload all of the things I've procured to the local auction company and let them handle it for me. It'll just need to wait until I'm healed up enough from this recent surgery, so another month, and I'll be able to start labeling items for them.
It's pretty weird that you found the Alejandro Jodorowsky book in the first unit. He's a Chilean-French filmmaker, and the guy who owned the 2nd unit went to Chile. Jodorowsky's made some pretty trippy films, and he was going to do a FAR OUT version of Frank Herbert's Dune.
also Pablo Neruda books of poems, a writer and winner of a Premio Nobel of Literature, very interesting, i know this because i am Chilean residing in USA ,
Apples have trace amounts of arsenic in the seeds that if eaten in abundance can make you sick, but can actually be beneficial if eaten in small doses.
Just recently found your channel and love it! Good family vibes:). And with that Harry Rosen overcoat you just need the boombox and you’d be John Cusack in Say Anything😂
You did good with the bike & Merrell shoes...some of which retail for over $100.....it's always a treat to see what's inside the bins etc. Your kids will no doubt put the art supplies to good use! All the best... 💞from BC
Alex is pretty good at making sure the camera is positioned in such a way as to not let us see something new in the garage. But me being a car nut spotted a black Mercedes convertible in the far corner. I don't think I have seen that one.
Melissa you will love the Instant Pot! I use mine at least once week! Apple seeds have arsenic in them. I don’t know if it’s a lot but I would prepare the apples before juicing them. Great find!
The person in the second unit was fully intending to come back. You can tell. They packed their bins so that the weight was evenly distributed among them, which is why they put clothes and coats in each bin.
I've only worn Merrill Moab shoes for about a decade now. They really hold up. I believe I saw Patrick was wearing them when you were cleaning out that last house, too. My eye always goes right to them.
Fun video, I wish Alex had found at least one great watch in the boxes. Those always make him happy. It is the best when they go threw the finds together. Great couple and family.
I was thinking about that episode of Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. The building looked almost exactly like the storage building in the episode.
I have that same model of Instant Pot and I love it for making chicken soup from the carcasses (I buy whole organic chickens and use every bit of them that I can), stews, and also for making small cheesecakes. It's also great for getting tough cuts of meat tender quickly (brisket, BBQ ribs, etc). And it makes short work of artichokes, root vegetables, and tough things like kale spines. You scored some NICE stuff from that locker. The London Fog trenchcoat w/liner and the goosedown jacket alone had to be a couple hundred each new.
You can tell he was moving to a warmer climate and wouldn't be needing his heavy winter coats. Good locker. Breville is a good brand, you can't go wrong.
When I got workbooks from my schools I got to keep I saved them and gave them to my cousin so she can look back on all the notes and things I put in it if she's stuck on something. She'd also do some of the workbook pages and make sure they're correct. When she no longer needed a workbook she'd pass it down to someone else so they can learn and have plenty of examples to look at if they got stuck. It was our way of helping others with school.
Dear Mr. Archbold. 👍👌👏 Congrats! Very well done again. I was happy to see that your family will use a lot of these good quality items. 2) Please, Sir, please don't understate like you always do. * Good going Archbolds . At least you made a profit to justify your work. Nice to see Bill too. All the best from us.
Best line ever Melissa calming Alex down over underwear “Alexander we all have underwear“
Not everyone. 😉 😂
Lol
@@tomfournier4941 Thanks for the chuckle! XXX
not me
Always good to have another perspective! 😂
Those bins are full of some high quality clothing and shoes..looks like he probably could afford to lose the limited amount of things he did. Great stuff
Yes, Merrill is a great brand of shoe!
@Carol Southern they are one of my favorite shoe brands.. they fit my little hobbit feet very well.
Good video. First unit showed the risk of minimal return from storage locker purchase. Second unit better but still no jackpot. Glad there were usable items found. Classic London Fog coat very cool. Pair it with a fedora.
Some of the shoes & Starter sweaters will catch a good price! Art supplies are nice- the little gun lighter🔥 People love Instapots🤙 Interesting finds.
Another great video, thank you for the laughs. I just got a message from Kastners letting me know my items from 1/04/23 auction are on the way. Exciting!!!
The bike, instapot and juicer plus the clothing was a win for sure.
You want to list those books for sale as soon as possible. When it comes to college classes, it never fails that the latest edition is required, don't want to wait until they go too far out of date.
You are correct about that. Alex is also correct about them being expensive - and yes - they become outdated very rapidly.
Apple seeds have cyanide in them but you'd have to eat pounds of them to feel any effect. lol There is also cyanide in other seeds and nuts including almonds. In fact the typical taste and smell of almonds (and marzipan) is caused by the cyanide.
was scrolling to see if this comment or another like it already existed.
Man Alex is living the life of Riley with that big ass garage… kids stay in school be like Alex! Your awesome!
.......YOU'RE awesome.......learn English.......
The second unit had some really nice items in it. The down coat looked like something was in the inside the inner pocket. I could be wrong. Thank you Alex and Melissa.😍
Looks like you found some useful things at least in the second unit Nice to see Bill again ;it has been a while .. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
I have an instant pot and they are so useful. Did you know that it was invented in Canada? There are lots of recipes on line but I like the instant pot site which is actually very useful. The bins themselves are worth money especially the ones from the second unit but even regular rubbermaid ones sell well second hand.
Im a nurse, my adult children and I keep narcan kits in case we happen upon someone needing it. Nothing nefarious here.
Pharmacist here - I was thinking the same thing. She may have kept them because people around her were at risk.
I figure a storage locker is at least worth buying for the ZipLoc bags and RubberMaid tubs if you don't find anything good
Oh my goodness I loved that storage unit So many nice warm jackets brand names that are amazing the bike the instapot all the juicers I would love to have that unit amazing! All very usable and practical. Plus new or in excellent shape those Merrell shoes are you kidding me!!
Love the storage unit episodes!!!
Lovely to see Bill again.
That was one interesting method of delivery onto the balcony Alex 🤣
Nice score Melissa!!! The kitchen bits & bobs (baking trays etc) might be worth hanging onto for Stephen when he goes to uni if he's not living at home
Those string choppers are WONDERFUL!
Take care,
Brian
Wild stuff! I was pleased to see the Jodorowsky book. Brilliant artist.
also Pablo Neruda books of poems, a writer and winner of a Premio Nobel of Literature, very interesting, i know this because i am Chilean residing in USA ,
College books can be a scam because they often create a new edition every year or two so the old book can’t be used for the current class.
Apples have trace amounts of arsenic in the seeds that if eaten in abundance can make you sick, but can actually be beneficial if eaten in small doses.
Some very cool and practical stuff to actually use! So true, all storage lockers can't be big winners, but hopefully you can get your money back
Wooo hoo! You found a lot of great items in the bike locker. We have one of those instapot, my wife uses it all the time
Just recently found your channel and love it!
💞from BC
The university should have a buy-back program for textbooks, that they turn around and sell as used. You could probably cash in at the bookstore.
The Student Union building also may have a used bookstore for selling slightly out of date editions.
Alex is pretty good at making sure the camera is positioned in such a way as to not let us see something new in the garage. But me being a car nut spotted a black Mercedes convertible in the far corner. I don't think I have seen that one.
I always love your new adventures. It’s fun to see you open the bins.
I bought a mesh steam bucket to use in my instant pot Viva enjoy your new multipurpose cooker😅
Love the London Fog trench coat. Great Haul .
Melissa you will love the Instant Pot! I use mine at least once week! Apple seeds have arsenic in them. I don’t know if it’s a lot but I would prepare the apples before juicing them. Great find!
You would need to eat 100s of seeds to get poisoned.
Insta-pot/pressure cookers are such time savers! Meals in minutes.
The person in the second unit was fully intending to come back. You can tell. They packed their bins so that the weight was evenly distributed among them, which is why they put clothes and coats in each bin.
Those hiking shoes would bring a good price on eBay. Same for jackets.
Yes! Between shoes and coats he doubled his return on the unit.
Nightmare before Christmas stuff is very collectable. in the beginning of videa the green figure you found is oogie boogie from the movie =)
I've only worn Merrill Moab shoes for about a decade now. They really hold up. I believe I saw Patrick was wearing them when you were cleaning out that last house, too. My eye always goes right to them.
My favorite stuff - office supplies and housewares. You did well! Thanks Alex!
You are so funny. Love sound effects and the kindness and love between you both
I don't blame Melissa. All that stuff is expensive! Be kind to one another. Stay safe. Love to all
Fun video, I wish Alex had found at least one great watch in the boxes. Those always make him happy. It is the best when they go threw the finds together. Great couple and family.
I was thinking about that episode of Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. The building looked almost exactly like the storage building in the episode.
Ooh maybe without the monsters.
@@bonnieweeks7601 Well, we only got to see two units, so you never know.
The box of colored pencils and art supplies are probably worth what you paid for the unit. Good that your kids enjoy art.
Don't throw away that Alejandro Jodorowsky book. One of the most influential graphic artists of our time.
It was our way of helping others with school.
. . . yes, definitely ran into a few of those technopreists when I was clubbing in the 90's . . . good dancers for the most part.
Good haul 🐊🌴🍊 Have a great weekend
I heard they found 'overdose kid' in one locker, like a body, and you bought it 🙃luckily it was 'overdose kit'
I heard the same... my brain frazzled for a couple of seconds!
Dear Mr. Archbold.
👍👌👏 Congrats! Very well done again. I was happy to see that your family will use a lot of these good quality items. 2) Please, Sir, please don't understate like you always do. All of this current stuff is worth at least 1600 to 1800 bucks. Even despite the fact of all the things that have been donated (including the table and the lamp). So you at least doubled your money (plus the proceed fom/out of utube of course). Mainly you are simply a really, really good merchant. Congrats again.
Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
Melissa is the greatest. She gets you and that is super, because she gets you and STILL loves her man!
I love Melissa’s sound effects! She really ROCKS!
I’ve loved watching your journey since you started on RUclips. Never a dull moment!!! Watched your kids grow into young adults too. You have to be very proud parents. ❤️. Btw how is Hans? Hi Bill? 👋🏻❤️
I have that same instapot & use it weekly ! You can cook so much stuff with them..and from frozen too !
I have the same model Instant pot. I love it.
Same - my daughter bought it and decided she wasn't going to use it, so she gave it to me. ☺️ Those juicers are rather pricey, too - what a nice grab.
NOT BAD, THERE WAS GOOD STUFF IN THE 2ND UNIT, YOU FOLKS CAN USE. ART SUPPLIES CAN BE COSTLY ASWELL. NOT A WASH OUT, COOL!!! Do take care. Fl., U.S.A.
Melissa is the real MVP for showing the bookophiles among us each book near the end there ❤️
Yes she's fantastic .
