- Is the BT-01 Chassis anything special? Well let's find out!
In this video I will go over steps 15 and 16 where we will build and attach the rear uprights.
THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:
If you're a beginner to the world of Tamiya R/C cars I don't think this kit is going to be for you. By choosing to go with a design that can be configured in multiple ways, Tamiya have chosen to go with multiple instruction manuals that don't stand alone. You have to refer to the different ones as you go along with the build process. I'm not a fan of this type of setup as it can be easy to make a mistake and find that you have to go back steps to fix things if you did something wrong. So to avoid any confusion, I will be building this car using the standard mid motor rear drive setup.
I have heard there are issues with this chassis so again I'll take you on this journey of discovery and when the build is complete I'll do a full review on the car and give you my thoughts.
But from what I already know about this chassis...it's not an easy build and can lead to confusion.
I have to tell you when this chassis was first released I was NOT excited about it. I'm not a fan of a chassis that is being designed so that you can build it in multiple configurations. With the BT-01, you can build it Front Motor Rear Drive/Front Motor Front Drive/Mid Motor Rear Drive. And when you can build a car three different ways it can often mean that it's sub-standard in all configurations. From what I'm hearing, my concerns are valid as others are finding there is "slop" in the chassis in multiple places.
So, in theory, having a kit that can be built in three different configurations is fantastic...and as this video will show, I'm excited about building this one. But I'm not convinced that my excitement will last once we get into the build process.
Be sure to subscribe and hit that notification button if you'd like to follow along. There may be some frustrating moments in the build series and I intend to show you everything I experience along the way.
Wish me luck! Развлечения
Looking good Freddy! Building the uprights was nice and easy but attaching them to chassis looked a little tricky
Thanks John!!
👍🏼 Looking forward to building a kit soon. Until I do, this is almost as satisfying.
Awesome..thanks Trey. I think you'll really enjoy the build. I've swamped with work recently but I plan on doing a video on both the MB-01 and BT-01 when these are finished and do my own overview of the builds and what I've found with both of them. I really like the chassis honestly...I think they are both not getting the love they deserve and for various reasons.
Hey Freddy, pressing on nicely my friend. Best wishes to you and the family 😊😊
Thanks John! It's getting there! You too!
@@FastFreddyRC yep, getting there with my SCA-1E 2.1 spec. 🖐️😉
Interesting with the F and L tree.
isn't it? It was almost like an afterthought lol - not sure why it was done that way.
@@FastFreddyRC one short question. Did I had missed the instructions how to use the letters and numders?
@@RCBirds Ah...no you haven't missed anything. Once the build videos have all come out, I'll put out another video explaining what you need to do with those letters and numbers :)
It's certainly coming on
I really like this kit so far!
@@FastFreddyRC i am enjoying watching it come together too
@@rivierarc thanks Glenn!
