I think if if Google decides to keep selling it at a reduced price even after the 7a is out, this phone will become super popular.

@Onorevole Nullazzo doesn't really matter, it works fantastically well in the Pixels. I have an Exynos S22 Ultra and it is choppy and laggy. Software and optimisation is key.

@Onorevole Nullazzo i agree on the part that exynos sucks but honestly after using the 6a I can't say the same about the tensor g1. Updates have fixed almost all the problems and doesn't heatup that much (plays pubg at 60fps) battery also getting better idk how😂. I'd say go for it rather than bragging about the exynos.

For $250-300 is an insane deal, but Pixel 7a at least on paper, it's very promising, but at twice of price. I prefer 6a design anyway.

I already see the price of the 7a dropping a lot so I recon it will come down to what the 6a is pretty soon.

7a is pathetic in terms of battery life and heat development. Two incredible shortcomings that will not make the minor improvements over the 6a worthwhile

@m.t.2491 My battery life is better than my 6a and I don’t have overheating problems. If you’re in warm climates it typically causes both those problems and I’m in a cold country

@@m.t.2491Is it really that bad compared to the 6A? Even if it's set to 60Hz? I'm trying to decide which to pick: 6A, 6, 7A or 7. No matter the phone, I'd use it in 60Hz for the increased battery life.

I've had it for 2 weeks and my issue is camera. When reviews said it can't do "macro" I didn't think it was this bad. I was trying to take picture after removing tick from my dog to see if I got everything out. It wont focus until I move back far enough that it's worse than seeing with my own eye. I ended up taking the picture with my 6 year old Galaxy S8+. This isn't even "Macro photography" It's "Close up". Pixel 6a can't do "Close up" is more accurate.

nobody who uses apple complained about the 60Hz screen because they don't get any other options, no competition, from anywhere that releases iOs phones. With android you have so many options with so many different prices that a higher end smartphone from one of the main brands not having it seems strange since there are cheaper options that do have it.

Hi Matt, Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with pixel phones with the community. I like the added side notes and drone camera shots in your video.
I especially appreciate your thorough, personal review of the Pixel 6a and found it very helpful EXCEPT for the Android14 info. This exception is only due to info I'm finding online about the Android14 update causing serious problems for Pixel 6 models (I recently had my 5a crash after a software update and have been going through all kinds of havoc trying to regain balance in my technology.)
Do you have any updates on your experience running the Android14(beta) on your 6a?

I am using Pixel 6a and I don't mind the 60Hz display and slow charging etc what others say.
But the one thing that I don't like is the heating issue it has, especially on mobile data and outside. (In India it's hot outside)

@@MattRobb right. The ambient temperature matters. Where I live it's between 30 to 40 degree Celsius. So the phone gets warmer in a few minutes of data usage or camera. Even when using Google maps it's getting hot.

@@Prakash-tkTotally agree with you bro, I too am from India and this is the only issue I face with this device that on Mobile Data it starts getting warm I dunno why it's happening but it needs an update to fix this issue out, else I feel like Google optimised it so well that it feels buttery smooth to me.

Just bought 2 (one for me and one for my son). But as a budget phone buyer, I would not call this a budget phone (well... you need to exclude Apple in any considerations). I have bought 130 USD phones (Android ofc) and been amazed of features, and overall usage... sure there is always a let down of some things (often camera, sometimes display)... but at around 130 USD I would call some of the phones a budget phone (even though there are lot cheaper phones)... at 340 USD (which is about the cost of it here in Sweden) it's at least a lower-mid tier phone. I just bought 2, I'm not expecting super much as it's still "cheapish"... but I really hope this is a Nexus 7 2013 model thingy :-) which was awesome at the time... 220 USD tablet that 10 years later I wished did not get smashed into the ground by accident... I much later bought a tablet with the same dimensions for about 50 USD more with about half the spec and though that was a "steal"...
I have a work Iphone which is about 450 USD and it's no comparison... I just can't stand it... the thing is just headache after headache... but as it's not my personal phone I can just turn it off on my free time...
    Anyway! Great review!

My carrier has the 6a for just $200. At that price, there's just no other option for me. The next best new $200 phone is the Galaxy A53 which, besides the screen, just isn't nearly as good as the Pixel.

@@Formastigor The 6a have very bad finger print scanner with screen protector, I had to turn it off and use numbers only. Also the speakers aren't loud enough for me. I recommend waiting for more reviews on the 7a to see if the fingerprint scanner is better. Otherwise overall Pixel are very good phones.
I also had the S21FE which is basically almost as good as S22, but I stop giving my money to Samsung and Apple. My choice is either Pixel or Sony Xperia. Take a look at the Xperia 10 V.

Sharing connexion is ridiculous on this phone, wired or unwired it does not work good. I bought it to use 5g on my computer and I am VERY disapointed. Also doesnt work well for calls. I had to do a full reset of the phone for it to work again properly After only 3 Months. Theses are only a few problems over this phone. They invest in gadget stuffs when the basics does not work. It's like building a house backward.
