This is a short video I decided to make about my process of learning to make a multiplayer indie game in Unity. I started gamedev a few months ago, and since quarantine it's getting worse were I live, I wanted to make something to play with my friends and spend some time on it. Hope you like this video, I'm gonna be uploading game dev related stuff in this channel.
If you want to check out the game, it's on my Itch.io page mults.itch.io/

This just showed up on my homepage, and _I'm in the video._ Glad you found the tutorials helpful, and I'm excited to see where you take this :)
I wasn't expecting this hahaha, I'm glad you clicked on that random RUclips suggestion. Your tutorials were indeed super helpful and really well executed, thank you for sharing your knowledge. And also, thank you for answering my comments in your video.
Wow. Thats quite weird.
gamer
same
This popped up on my feed as well.
Waiting for Dani to leave a comment to this video..
That would be pretty cool hahah
Mults yeah he comments on a lot of smaller game devs
Who?
Oh... The guy he took the FPS tutorial from to make this game
Dani is awesome
And also you mults
Hey man you made the front page with 110 subscribers-- congrats!!
Haha thanks! I'm just starting to grow, so I'm really happy to see people commenting here.
this guy is nuts, I can't make this kind of project with even 2 years of unity experience
Hahah, thank you man!
Me: Wow these videos are very professional and well made, he must have a lot of subscrib-
Also me: U N D E R R A T E D
Thank you for saying those nice things about my editing :D
Only professional game developers start off with a BEAN, guess your pro now.
Hahaha beans are the way to go
GO BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Ur a noob I can make that thing only in 4 days of experience
Only if Brackeys is sitting near me

BRUH THIS GUY DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 100 SUBS!11!!!!111!1111!!!
Seriously though your content is up there with Jonas Tyroller and Dani
Thank you for saying that! I like their channels a lot :D.
I just started making this kind of content, so I have a long way to go tho. I hope you enjoy it
@@MultsElMesco You are very welcome.
@@Lussra Well now he has almost 600 subs
I agree with you
GREAT VIDEO, this shows up in my recommendation, I subbed
I got an ad before this that said
"I am a full time game developer, the game that I ma-" I skipped, but just lil spooky
It's October 133rd, no wonder It was spooky
Good job on the video! I would love to see more videos on your process of learning how to make games!
Thank you so much! I'm definitely planning to do it. Originally I wanted to upload videos every week, but to make them more interesting I think I'll do it every two. Thanks for the support!
glad to of found you, great job man
Thank you so much!
Of course, us "game dev-ers" can totally relate on how we solve smoothing some code without knowing why and how it was done. :D
That's how is supposed to work, isn't it?
I was so afraid to work on a multiplayer game.
But this just motivated me, and I think I will work on my first multiplayer game starting from tomorrow!
Best of lucks with your project for tomorrow! Do it, make your dreams come true hahaha
Awesome work man, really inspiring. I'm gonna look into networking as well.
Thanks man!
This is giving me a lot of inspiration, thanks.
I'm happy to hear that!

Give this man more subs!
I found him in my recommendations for some reason!
The algorithm works in mysterious ways hahah. Thank you man!
Mults you are very welcome 💶💷💶💷 subs = money, money = videos, videos = subs, subs= fun, fun = subs, subs = money. And so on
That's a really weird way of saying that you want me to get more subs so that I can be monetize so that I can make more content. But thank you hahahaha

It's much better to play a boring game with friends
oh wow such a small youtuber with a lot of potential... i love this
And I'm glad that you loved it hahah, thanks man!
Wow good job :D subscribed and I hope to see more content from you
It makes me happy to hear that! I'll definitely upload more videos in the future, I'm planning to do two videos a month.
@@MultsElMesco Yes I watched all the videos on your channel. Your sickest game ever looked amazing but you deleted the game, wild. Enjoying the content so far :D
Wow, you are on my Recommend page awesome!! Keep it up! Even I couldn't hit that much views with 10 vids
Thank you man! I watched your channel btw, if I can say something, the only reason I have more views is because my content is not a devlog per se, but more like a funny video. I saw what you did and it looks really cool, you have so many good abilities and it looks like you work really hard on what you do. Your growth might be slow (it might be not) but keep going and eventually you'll find a fan base that likes your project. I'm sure about that.
Plus you seem to be pretty young (I'm sorry if that's not the case), and you are really talented. I wish I started when I was younger hahaha.
Best of lucks with your project, and don't be afraid to experiment with your video style, maybe a bit of editing, maybe something else. I'm sure you'll find your own way to get in the sight of the algorithm.
Yeah I am Kinda in my Teenage years so yeah
THx for the advice
I wasnt expecting you being from Chile. Also "un grande el tio brackeys". Really good video btw!
I'm assuming that you are from Chile too. In that case, F por el tío Brackeys, espero que le vaya bien en lo que haga en adelante. That said, thanks for the support man, really appreciate that!

I'm planning for my final year project at university, and I find out this video! Thank you for making this video, it's a genuine experience, and it's exactly same as mine when I first made my own 2D game (unfortunately, I accidentally lost it when updating Unity Hub :( )

Ah yes, as a "game-dev" myself, I can relate to yer experience, especially the code part
Coding just works, we don't know how
Awesome video!
Here’s some things you did great
-great animation in video
-lovely editing
-high production
-good audio and volume
-good “story”
There are also some things you could work on
-sometimes you stop in the middle of sentences, like you are confused as to what to say
-that’s really all the bad things lol, this was a really good and well made video
Loved the feedback, it really helps me to know what people like about my content. Thank you so much!
Nice game, I expect more, MORE
Then I'll have to make MORE, by the name of the Sacred Musgerian Empire.
When I saw that health bar I was instantly thinking about brackys health bar tutorial :D
I should draw a new bar hahahaha
just gonna say open world games get the best type of hits and mutiplayer TOO... so open world games + multiplayer games = BANGER!

"If knights looked like power rangers" lol you made me laugh :D

I'm glad someone found it funny hahaha
My school needs to hire this man
I'll work for memes
this is very well made, and enjoyable to watch! i love what youre doing with this channel
however, here are some critiques :
- I would have cut explaining why you added respawning (6:11). Its strange because you seem to have recognized that there wasnt much point in keeping it in, but you did anyways
- You censored "shit" at 5:38 but didnt censor it at 6:29, so make sure to be consistent with your censoring if thats something you want to do for your video.
- Throughout the video you can hear the creaking of your chair (?). Try to minimize these outside noises when recording voice overs.
- Not super important, but doing the simple things in this video (ruclips.net/video/RfWOOahu2xU/видео.html ) can really boost your mic quality, by adding bass and eliminating white noise
not trying to discourage you, just some little things to look out for in the future. Your editing, pacing, and sense of comedic timing is really good! Your explanations were also simple enough that someone who doesnt know anything about programming or networking could still watch and follow whats happening. cheers
That was a pretty good feedback and I wanted to hear something like this. Thank you so much. Don't worry, you're not discouraging me at all. I like to improve. I'm glad you liked my humor and style and that you find this video simple enough to understand.
I'm going to try the video you sent me and also try to move less while recording. (I knew I was forgetting to censor something hahaha. Also, the respawning part was just a pretty bad joke hahah)
all the best
Thank you!
ok but like...
HES SO UNDERRATTED LIKE WHAT???!?!??!?!? HOW
Hey I'm the 1000th subscriber!
Thank you! Hahahah
This guy will make the Next Karlson Game
I thought you would have atleast 200k subs because of your professional editing
Thank you man! I work a lot on my editing, hoping to improve even more!
Noice man, you've archived What I've being trying for a year in a month xD, felicitaciones, se te da muy bien programar y tus tutoriales sin bastante chill e informativos, un saludo desde españita. Por cierto, vas a poner el Código o el juego o alguna forma de diseccionarlo o ver cómo funciona?
Thanks man! Gracias por cumplido, es mucha persistencia la verdad. Además, solo quería hacer algo pequeño para empezar a adentrarme en el mundo. Nada completo realmente.
I was planning to upload my code on github, but it's really messy (really) and it has some bugs. If you don't mind that, can upload it and put it in the description in a few days. Also, check Tom Weiland's C# Dedicated Server tutorial, my code it's completely based from his code.
The game is on my itch.io page. It's kind of tricky to play (lots of errors and lag). You have to open your ports and try a lot of times to enter the server.
You did better than I did. Mine doesn't work over the internet, and wont even play on my work's WiFi so I cant even show my friends unless it's at someones home haha. Didn't even know about this Tom Weiland.
Great video! I'm looking into multiplayer and wow! Quite a big jump from non-multiplayer and quite intimidating! Lot's to consider. Seeing you do it in one month makes it less intimidating, thanks. Does your game have much lag after player input or did you compensate for it?
Thank you! It's kind of intimidating at first, and, ngl, it's a lot of work. It can get really complicated once you start adding stuff so you have to be organized (which wasn't my case, that's why it is at pause for now).
My game has a lot of lag depending on where my friends are connected. If we are two far away (I have friends that live 800km away from me) they experience a lot of lag.
So basically, no I didn't do anything with lag compensation in this part hahahah.
@@MultsElMesco🙂 I bought a multiplayer game book called 'Multiplayer Game Programming.' I'm only a little ways into it but did look ahead to the lag compensation chapter. Looks very promising. Do you have lag on your own movements since they go through a server (I'm guessing not sinch I believe you said you were running the server on your own computer)
The error you mentioned in 11:05 was that a public "Unity Variable" ( ex: game object ) or a normal variable was not being assigned correctly or not assigned at all, I think.
Actually, it had something to do with the way I was receiving and seding packets. At some point in the code I tried to access a non existing property, that caused the error. I solve it by double checking in some parts. But it was pretty tricky to find it hahaha
Very nice
Thanks dude!
Dani: *Hm. I see you used the epic UNITY PARTICLE SYSTEM, I approve!!*

did you notice you have more likes than subs ?
also you're really good keep it up dude

Commenting for the algorithm 😀
The algorithm works in mysterious ways some consider to be unnatural. So thank you so much :D!
I recomend you to use the universal render pipeline from unity to make the graphics look a lot better or the hig definition
Yeah, I'm currently working on that for my next project hahaaha
