Something interesting; Older games are harder because there was limited space on the cartridges, and the games weren't very long. The games were made more difficult to make them seem longer than they actually were.

they don't take their time to "analyze" the situation (don't take the apples, go straight forward on the ennemies, fell 2/3 times on the same easy "traps" ). What would they think of " the cavern", "the escape" and "inside the Lamp" levels....(sorry for my english, it's not my native language)
Their also not use to these kinda platform games. Most games that came out around this time were similar so we were use to the style of game play. I bet if we played thru it now we wouldn't get as far as we were when we were kids. Of course I can't speak for everyone!

I played this so much when I was a kid. The key to the sword guys is to knock his swords back at him by mashing your sword attack button. Also screw the, Inside Genies lamp level...

Aladdin is now available on Steam. I used to speed run through that game when I was younger. And remember picking it up from Blockbuster in the used games section. EBay, Amazon and GameStop didn't even exist. The game's soundtrack was helmed by Tommy Talarico who wasn't even in college back in the 90's.

I sold my Yamaha DX7s to buy a Sega Megadrive with Aladdin for my girlfriend's Christmas Present. We played this forever and I can remember thinking the graphics were awesome and couldn't get any better. I love side scrollers. Great to see kids still enjoying these games.

Sega Genesis's Aladdin is up there with Yoshi's Island as the best-looking platformers of their time. Unless I'm conveniently forgetting about something else.
