I've only recently subscribed but I'm blown away by the quality of your videos and content. You're so fun to watch, and I'll never get tired of watching you.
aging myself, but who else remembers the wet n wild green lipstick in the white tubes that would turn pink or red?? These are like glorified throwbacks of those $1 makeups for kids
Apple Ate I don't know if you have BarryM in the US, but we have a brand in the UK called BarryM which sells this product and has done since 1982, the 'Genie' lipstick being one of their first products, which was a green lipstick which reacted with your skin and turned pink. And it costs like £3, which is about 4 dollars. Don't know why people are spending 25$ on something which has been around for a long time and you can buy so much cheaper elsewhere.
Yeah but the formula lipstick queen uses is better quality. If you try it and compare, you’ll know the difference and realise why her products are expensive
Tati, please try the Eyptian Magic cream (but don't buy from amazon or ebay there are many fakes there). I've read on Pintrest that it makes your skin so even toned that you can even skip foundation. And many celebrities use it as well.
green lipsticks like this have been around for ages. My grandma used them for like 30 years, they used to call them "chemical lipsticks" here and they were like 2$ each or so. they were green but turned magenta on the lips and were also incredibly hard to remove, they tinted the lips. I'm pretty sure it's the same formula used for these ones
This kind of lipstick existed for many many years around the world. It's still very popular in the Middle East, particularly in Morocco and Israel, the latter because many orthodox Jewish women are forbidden from wearing makeup during the Sabbath (applying makeup is considered a type of "work" which is forbidden on the Sabbath). A lot of companies make them, and the colour lasts for 24 hours or longer! This is definitely not new, but cool to see that it's being brought to a more mainstream audience as well. The Moroccan lipstick can be found on ebay for super cheap and plenty of other brands make them just as cheap, too.
+Amal Al Mandhari Hi :) The act of putting on makeup is what's forbidden. Combing your hair, preparing food, locking and unlocking doors and even tearing a piece of tissue paper from a tissue paper roll are all forbidden during Shabbas.
+amBr7L hey! 😍 you can find Shabbat lipstick in Sacara for only 10₪ סקארה... I'm obsessed about this one, also put it under regular lipstick... Also great as moisturize balm
there's also one you can buy at Bi Mart called Mood Lipstick. it's like from a no name brand and it's yellow bullet in a black package and it's turns like a hot coral color and it's super cheap.
When she searched it on her hand and said it didn't change I was confused because it definitely showed up a light purple both on hand and lip. She also didn't take off the original makeup before she tried it on, so of course it'd look different than without it. It drives me nuts when she does that kind of thing.
Erin Simms yes she didn't in the beginning but she was wearing the other one before and said it left her lips stained. so the previous stain could be altering the affect
Ok am I the only one who just does NOT get the point buying a horrible green lipstick for $24 just to see it turn pink?! Surely just buy a pink lipstick in the first place?!? That's like a gimmick for 6 year olds?! Soo confused 😆🙈
The point is that it changes according to your specific ph and what not to be "your perfect shade of pink" so it looks different on everyone. If you watch other reviews of this it's very apparent that the color does change slightly depending on the person. But yea, it's a little gimmicky and a bit over priced.
it's not horrible... that's the whole point. It's a really good lipstick, it feels more like a balm, it's so incredibly hydrating and the colour it makes is guaranteed to be flattering because it reacts with your own skin.
you're literally the only blogger I'm currently following. I simply stopped to follow all these beauty-gurus, because of a) all similar drag queen makeup b) not objective/paid reviews and c) just boring personality. Meanwhile your videos are always watched from the beginning until the end!!! love love love your channel, and I really appreciate your hard work and approach!
I only wear creme blush, so I actually know what I'm doing there, as opposed to applying any other form of makeup whatsoever. I get the quantity I want, on my pointer finger, and just give a smear from the apples of my cheeks, and go up my face following my cheekbones... really the exact places you'd normally apply a powder blush. Then, using a makeup sponge wedge, I blend it out. I've seen lots of people pat with their fingers, and I think that whatever works best for you, is totally cool. I just wanted to share my creme blush tip. :-) On your vid, I do see purple with the second one.. and I think I almost like it better, just because all of the color-changing lipsticks I've seen you try out, seems to turn almost the same shade of pink. And honestly, purple looks goon on you. The pink looks good too... just diggin' somethin' different.
You're very welcome. :-) If you're looking for a great creme blush, btw... L'Oreal Visible Lift is FABULOUS. I love the Rose Gold Lift shade, but also have Pink Lift and Berry Lift, and they are great too. All of the colors in the line are beautiful.. I just have pink undertones though, so I can't really get away with the more peach and coral colors. You should definitely find a shade you'll love. :-) * I'm talking about the blush in a pan or pot, if you will, vs. the tube blushes they also have.
Fun fact! The colour of the lipstick isn't dependent on skin ph - ALL colour-changing makeup uses a certain pigment called red 27. This pigment is transparent until exposed to moisture (such as the moisture on human skin!) whereupon it turns a hot pink shade. The lipstick, cream blush etc suspend this pigment in an oil or silicone base (no water), so you can't see the pink colour until you apply it. Google red 27, it's in lots of products and it's really interesting! :)
Interesting because I did an experiment. I know that baking soda is very alkaline and lemon juice is very acidic. So I did a patch of each on my skin, let it dry, and then swatched the Frog Prince over each. They were remarkably different. The moisture on the skin was the same. Over one patch, it was clear, on the other patch it was bright mauve/pink. So I believe in this instance, it has to do with the PH.
+Ann G. R. (ShibaGirl) since you used two different substances completely for the experiment, they have very different properties concerning moisture. For example the baking soda could have been absorbing moisture, or since lemon juice has hydrating properties it could have been creating more moisture for the product to change colour. It's impossible for different people's skin to have different pH's unless they have a legitimate medical problem and they would then have problems with enzyme dysfunction.
Lipstick Queen is one of my favorite line of lipsticks and glosses. Besame is another line I really love. Would love to see you do a review of this line.
But the color changing lipsticks are so common in Asia. It's not just green but you can find white, purple, blue lipstick! And plus, it's so cheap that I think everyone owns one lol
*holds up something that is most likely chocolate * *Tati-And I'm here like eating vegetables and hummus and like water* *Looks down at her bottle of Dr.Pepper * So relatable...
I love this! It's so simple, and fun! It's green in the tube, pink on my lips, and comes off clear. I like the simple color. It's perfect for me, because I like more natural colored lips.
pH has NOTHING to do with making these novelty cosmetics perfectly suited for your skin tone. It's completely unrelated to color. The reason it changes is because the pH of skin is higher than the pH of the wax, other ingredients, and the container. A special dye called red 27 reacts and like magic, you have a new color. The only reason this gets anywhere close to being a "perfect shade match" for anyone is due to the translucency, or LACK of pigment allowing some natural lip color to show through. Big thumbs down for nothing more than shady, unscientific marketing.
UM, yeah, but if some one has a higher PH than another person, the intensity of the color change is going to vary. That's the "custom" aspect. It's a spin. That's why it's called marketing.
Rio Reason There is still a "range of normal" for our saliva pH, 6.5 - 7.5 (and certain foods we eat can change that, dropping nearly to 6.2 or as high as 7.8). A person whose saliva is at a pH of 6.5 when they put on the lipstick is going to have a slightly different tonal reaction than a person who has a saliva pH of 7.5.
+Jamie M I could be wrong. Just doesn't seem like much to me, and after hearing reviews of these kinds of cosmetics, I get the feeling it's enough of a difference. Even the difference in pH between her skin and saliva should be enough then, shouldn't it?
+Rio Reason Well, like I said earlier, it's a spin...which means its only partially true that its a big enough difference. I think the power of suggestion allows the consumer to see a bigger difference then there might actually be.....I guess my main point was just to point out it wasnt full blown dishonesty, just good marketing.
Tati Lovers -- if Bunny's squad can get her a pallette with Tarte. we need to come together to get Tati her own pallette. ♡ when I make this happen Tati one of the shades will be AMBER -- OK :) Tati who do you want to collaborate with. ????? Tom Ford Gearlain Tarte benefit tell us Tati so that we can get you a pallette .... so therefore we can own it as well. shade idea = purple\Marron is your fave .. call it Amber highlighter =poka ♡ ect. TATI TELL US WHO YOU WANT TO COLAB. WITH. YOUR RIDE OR DIES WILL WRITE AND GET AN ARMY TOGETHER FOR YOU !!!!!
In India , we get the exact green lipstick that will not dehyrdrate your lips but stain them like crazy for like 20 Rupees, which is like 33 Cents in US 😂
+Tati I think she just meant it would have been cool if you just put it on without swatching it first. It would have been more of a surprise, whereas swatching it gave you an idea of what it would look like.
My grandma used to have these green lipsticks, like, ten years ago, and they were the exact same color as the one in this video, but would turn bright red when applied.
+kat rose It depends. Some colourblind people see all colours differently and some only see certain colours differently. Some mix up yellow and red, some blue and green, etc.
I think the whole concept of 'it adjusts to your ph-level!!!!' is just a marketing trick. There is a pigment that goes from clear to pink / red upon contact with water, so I think this is how they work. The skin's ph is different from person to person but always around 5.5 (I believe) so I don't think it fluctuates enough to cause a huge difference in colours (of a ph-indicator).
You know how to test the pH they have kits that change color to tell you what pH an item is? They just had to find something that changes color based on a difference in pH.
Its nice that some one on youtube pays attention to Lipstick Queen. Her Oxymoron matte lip and cheek colors are fun and all her lipsticks are fab and non cakey/drying/sticky/oily
i watched the flower vid first and you mention that your mom loves the green lipstick and it made me think, have you done any vids with your mom? I love vids with family members and i always like seeing you and your hubby on camera together.
I saw this video for the first time a week ago and I immediately bought the frog prince lipstick because it was just so pretty. It came in the mail today and I’m wearing it right now. It’s super flattering and really high quality. 10/10 would recommend. The packaging is also super cute.
When I go to Mexico I buy those type of "magic" lipsticks but different brand and they're like 80cents each. My mom has used them for many years since she was a teen and she loves them. 😊
💚💚💚💚💚💚💚 I love you Tati! Your videos really help guide me with my crazy makeup addiction. Your videos really help when I'm having a bad day and always look forward to them! I'm so glad you post often! 💄💄💚💚💚💚 you are gorgeous I hope you read this!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
They have been selling these lipstick in the Middle East for literally less than 1 dollar, it's funny how people are willingly spending 20 times the price just because it's been packaged differently. Lol.
"If you're like me and eating vegetables and hummus and drinking water."

+Zoe Miller im so confused please explain
you and your name give me life
+becky mcnamee hehe thank yewww
I actually think the blue one pulled a successful mauve and it looked pretty, but I think that since it was previously blue you're still seeing blue!
Krystal Duran I have those and the blue one just doesn't change as intensely as the green
I could also be that way because colors can look entirely different depending on whether you have a warmer skin tone or a colder one
The blue one looked really pretty on her after a few seconds of her talking about it. Who else thinks that?
JenellBrown DIY I do! 🙋🏾
Jeralin Banyon 😂🙋🏻
JenellBrown DIY definetly!!
true
Why do I not see any change - no blue,
I've only recently subscribed but I'm blown away by the quality of your videos and content. You're so fun to watch, and I'll never get tired of watching you.

Apple Ate my mom still wears that lipstick. I think it's the same thing.

Wait you're 34?? YOU LOOK SO GREAT!
Ikr
Censored Censored when did she say that?
Aesthetic Panda I thought she was 30 or 25
As if 34 is that old🙄
She's prob lying about her age but it's ok
you know what, i have one question what happens if you get cold
would your whole entire face makeup go green
_.katie._ It reacts to the PH of your skin, not to temperature
QA Purrsian she said that
_.katie._ PH my ass it changes with body temperature
"the pH of your skin" the acidity in your skin's not gonna bloody Change over the course of a day is it?
Alejandro Daniel It really doesn't. It uses a really common indicator that turns pink when it reacts with basic substances.
I really like the blue one, not so much the green one... I'm not really a pinky person
Same
Sarah May Dunker saammmeeee

Hi! Just wanted to ask where in Israel you can find it, and which brands offer these sorts of makeup.
Yeaaah I am Moroccan and have one of these too but they don't feel as moisturizing as the one presented by Tati :/

Stormy Tilley her lips are lightly stained, not enough to change the over all effect
that's not lightly lol
hello sailor is honestly one of my all time favorite lipsticks! its fool proof to apply and soo moisturizing and the perfect berry on me!

Skin ph has nothing to do with skin tone / color anyway so idk why anyone would say that's the reason it's anyone's "perfect color" lol
I have been wearing Frog Prince and Hello Sailor for over a year and LOVE LOVE LOVE both the lipsticks and the gloss.
Lipstick Queen is one of my favorite line of lipsticks and glosses. Besame is another line I really love. Would love to see you do a review of this line.

Big thumbs down for nothing more than shady, unscientific marketing.
UM, yeah, but if some one has a higher PH than another person, the intensity of the color change is going to vary. That's the "custom" aspect. It's a spin. That's why it's called marketing.
Thanks for the information, was really amazed to see this, knowin it has an explanation made my day 😘❤
Rio Reason There is still a "range of normal" for our saliva pH, 6.5 - 7.5 (and certain foods we eat can change that, dropping nearly to 6.2 or as high as 7.8).
+Rio Reason
Well, like I said earlier, it's a spin...which means its only partially true that its a big enough difference. I think the power of suggestion allows the consumer to see a bigger difference then there might actually be.....I guess my main point was just to point out it wasnt full blown dishonesty, just good marketing.

Paan
Chilled out Bunny what is the name of it?
I feel like she cheated because tried it out on her hand. I think this would have been better if she just applied it.
+Lizzie Ivy please watch the whole video - I did apply it. xo's
+Tati I think she just meant it would have been cool if you just put it on without swatching it first. It would have been more of a surprise, whereas swatching it gave you an idea of what it would look like.
its jus d same on lips or d hand
😂 how is it cheating at all and who cares
+Mari Ya ok?... then skip the part where she was talking easy as that :P u don't have to put a mean comment

My grandma used to have these green lipsticks, like, ten years ago, and they were the exact same color as the one in this video, but would turn bright red when applied.
You can buy that for like a dollar here in Turkey. Most of the grannies use it. Bye bye 20 bucks

This is like a nightmare for colourblind people....
+Shannah Gibbons xD
How so?
+Nick Nack From Guam I'm guessing you're not colourblind....
I wonder what color it would be for someone who's colorblind
+kat rose It depends. Some colourblind people see all colours differently and some only see certain colours differently. Some mix up yellow and red, some blue and green, etc.
Your eye makeup looks AMAZING
I absolutely love the look she did today she looks so stunning and absolutely gorgeous

Julia Bladt 😂
😂
lol
you just won the comment section XD
But...but pH has nothing to do with skin colour or tone.
THANK. YOU. It flatters you on a chemical level 😂😂😂😂
Maybe it reacts to the ph on your skin which hovers around 3-5.
plus only water based liquids can have a ph bc it has to do with hydrogen or hydroxide ions in the water
You know how to test the pH they have kits that change color to tell you what pH an item is? They just had to find something that changes color based on a difference in pH.
I see purple.
When I was younger my grandma gave me a lipstick that she'd bought in Mexico that did the same thing as these lol. Dame green color as well.
Same**
Same mine also got me a yellow one and a blue
Here in mexico they sell those kind of lipsticks EVERYWHERE!! But it cost you like $1.20 😁
Watch out lads flying to Mexico.
Did it have a flower pattern??? Because I had one too 😂
My name is Saylor so when she said Hello Sailor I flipped out😂💚
Lol
I was looking forward to see the glosses by themselves
I was thinking maybe that's why they take longer to react and do it unevenly (maybe?)
well it was uneven when she swatched it on her hand too,so...
Jenluvreviews did show it that way. Check it out!
+Sasha C thank you
Its nice that some one on youtube pays attention to Lipstick Queen. Her Oxymoron matte lip and cheek colors are fun and all her lipsticks are fab and non cakey/drying/sticky/oily

I saw this video for the first time a week ago and I immediately bought the frog prince lipstick because it was just so pretty. It came in the mail today and I’m wearing it right now. It’s super flattering and really high quality. 10/10 would recommend. The packaging is also super cute.
2019 anyone? Omg she looks so different!!
i remember being given this kind of lipstick at a kid in the 80's. been around for ages obviously its new for younger people.
So funny that everything comes back!!!
When I go to Mexico I buy those type of "magic" lipsticks but different brand and they're like 80cents each. My mom has used them for many years since she was a teen and she loves them. 😊
That grreen lipstick is so cute! I loved the idea behind them. It is such a cool idea!!

You should try the Powder Lipstick. It's a Korean brand, I think you can get on amazon.
Can you please do an AlieExpress makeup dupe review? Your eye makeup looks amazing!
They have been selling these lipstick in the Middle East for literally less than 1 dollar, it's funny how people are willingly spending 20 times the price just because it's been packaged differently. Lol.
Same
Haha exactly, I like those better
+1 :-)
+jasmine le it's better they last for more than 24 hourse they do stain and they don't go away by make up remover.
What are they called over there?
