I watched a couple videos of Lyles show in Chicago. He's in a strong voice and the band is hitting on all cylinders.

Just now, it just struck me how a moment of harmonic balance appears when each person in the studio does exactly what they love to do. Tina sings and leads singers. Phil plays drums. Everyone else does their thing. This harmony really shines through the spirit of the performance.

I love to Tina story as to how she did it
It reminds me when Stevie Nicks talks about Prince. How back when she did stand back it just needed a few things and she didn't know how to get it in studio and she called his production team, they relayed message he agreed and he flew in he did a couple of little things on the keys and she said he added little boop boop and beep beep. And next thing you know he left. And the song just rocketed up the charts.
Thanks for sharing this amazing performance. Hoping Phil is enjoying his retirement. He gave us all so much throughout his career. Could not ask for anymore.
He somehow wrote the soundtrack for my life. He was always there.. for example this song: the first time I took my daughter to the cinema: the movie was Brother Bear…
@kevinmichael9482 One of my most favorite concerts was his 1st solo tour for Hello...IMBG.. I also saw every Gene. tour in the 80s. No one was better at entertaining an audience than Phil.

Thank goodness for all of the recordings of talented performers like Tina, Gordon, Christine etc who've died in the digital age that will entertain and enlighten for generations. We still have much of the analog preserved but have lost so much of the early recordings of equally great performers.

I'm following it multiple times a day. Makes my heart heavy...terribly.
I have been following it; there are risks in most anything we do.
Those who bought maiden tickets on the Titanic were assured it was the safest ship ever made.
Following but not optimistic at all.
I was watching one guy who's been down on other tours of the Titanic and he felt it may have gotten caught in the wreckage.

It s my understanding they lost contact with the vehicle 1 1/4 hours after submerge launch, it would seem not enough time to submerge to the Titanic level of 12,500 feet.

Phil must have been simply giddy as a schoolboy to have Tina sing his lyrics. 🙂🙂 I certainly would. She was a definite powerhouse. The Queen of Rock's own great spirit will definitely live on forever.

I just grabbed the SHeraton(No idea where you are but for S&G's) in Indianapolis to see how many minutes to Nashville and it is about an hour 15 to an hour and 30 minutes away from the sheraton!!!!!!!! Assuming no traffic!!!!

Phil could have just stuck with drums and continued to be one of the best, but nooooo. He had to add insult to injury and become one of the greatest songwriters of all time in the bargain. I saw Tina only once, in Paris. She happened to be playing at the Zenith during the week I was in town and we happened to hear about it in time get tickets. Will never forget that. This was a really special recording to be able to hear.

It must've been flashback time for you. Tina Turner was a force of nature on stage. My wife saw her perform. "Too bad I didn't know you then. I might have taken you as my date. Maybe not." Phil on drums, you can tell it was him. On bass, I'm getting better at saying, "That's Leland Sklar on bass." Still learning though. Safe travels. I think you'll like Michigan. The good ol' stickiness is in the air.
