I met Mr Aronoff in 09' at South Street Seaport after he played a free gig with John Fogerty. He signed a gig used stick for me! Nice P.C cut🙂
Evening Lee and all
Greetings from Epping Uk
Cheers Barry 🎸
Lee, I can just see you on stage playing this! You'd be stylin'....🎵
Hello from the swamp!
Happy Wednesday!
Today is a good day, eh?
Good evening Leland and everybody ✋
Glad you are getting rain. It's been so dry in Southern Australia for the last 3 months. Looks like El Nino and La Nina have reversed.
What a great bass line...I would love to see you playing again in the videos!
Reminds me old the old Johnny Carson 'Art Fern's Tea Time Movie' bit that he used to do. The line where he's giving driving directions, "When you get to the Slauson cutoff, get out of your car and cut off your slauson" :p
Boy, you've worked with some great drummers: Aronoff, Kunkel, Collins, Pedro Segundo, Cobham and the list goes on😮
Feel so fortunate every day!
@@lelandsklar6363 blessed, lee
And on and on! Blaine, Porcaro, Keltner, Gordon, Vega, Colaiuta, Robinson, Bisquera.... man....

Wow nice song I love Phil Collins music💯 🎶 thanks🤓
Always love Phil. The band is always so tight.
Cool! Kenny Aronoff is one of my fav drummers! I'm glad the boys got to get out at least for a little bit. Give'em a kiss from me! Take care, Lee!
I always thought if we take Phil Collins B sides songs it would make a great album.
- For a Friend
- Take me With You
- That's How I Feel
- It's Over
- Deep Water Town
- Burn Down the Mission
- Around the World on 80 Presets
- I Like the Way
And so on...
😎 . . .
The singers, the horns, Phil, Daryl, yourself... everyone absolutely killed it. Probably my favorite Phil B-side. I first heard it at a mountain lodge outside San Diego that had the jukebox playing 45's. I saw the song on the list and thought "what's this?" I dropped a quarter and didn't regret it. To this day, I'm still amazed it didn't get on the album.
Horns 🎺🎺🎶, Vine Street with Harry Kim 🎺🎼
I am a huge fan of Phil since I was 15 and I hadn't heard this song. Thanks. Big energy there.
Your bass part on this fits like a glove.
Hey there, Lee and everyone!
🏆HI Winston!
👋
@@slipperynoodle20 Hey there, Tom!
@@artemisXsidecross Hey! How’s it going?
Hi Winston
Hi Leland! How are you doing? Could you play Doesn't Anybody Stay Together Anymore?
But Seriously Tour Berlin Version.
It would be really cool!
Thanks!
Hi Lee, I have the deluxe version of But Seriously… which has this on - it’s a fab song - Phil’s writing then was so strong wasn’t it? (It also helped he had one of the best band around!) thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the tune today, I always look forward to hear what you have selected.
Same erratic weather here too near the Oakland Hills with winds clocked at 74 mph. On our early walk this morning we passed four down trees. Pasadena had a fraction on an inch more rain than Oakland.
Will look forward to the results of the interview between the the two of you today. 👍
🤔🤔 Hmmmm... You're counting the downed trees you pass and we're counting the downed trees we have to cut up and put into green waste cans. As of this evening, our second in less than 3 weeks.
@@SoundsFair--M-and-J
On our walk I described, a big Redwood fell and the neighbors themselves worked as you described to clean it up. Working Class Heros are those who care for themselves and not wait for city clean up. Good work my friend 👍
@@artemisXsidecross The latest one is my tree so it's my thing. The first one was a neighbor's tree that landed in my yard. We put out 6 cans of crown and then one day arrived to find that they had repatriated the trunk.😃. Nothing on the scale of a redwood (although 30' is 30'), but there must be lots of good uses for redwood trunk.
Think it's gonna rain some more today 🌧
Can definitely hear your bass line in this one, Lee. It's like as if you've got your own melody. Great song, and love hearing you jam that bass. 🎸🎶😁🎧
Great song Kenny is a bad azz drummer man that snare sound amazing I love everything about Phill I pray for him it makes my sad to see him getting sick through God miracles do happen Leland another great video.🙏❤🙏
Just love watching your videos Leland. Thank you so much for reminding me how much great music is out there.
Take care.
Evening Leland
👋🏻
Man that phone deal was frightening! Hello everyone. Hi Leland. You kind of got a Danny Mo' Morris vibe going on this track. Supper Cool. Cheers man.
Hi, Lee. Glad you got in a little bit of a walk with the boys, before the heavens began to rain on your parade. Thank you for sharing this B-side that you, uh... "threw up" for us. I like that post-Genesis Phil has used horns on many of his recordings. And some bearded bass player, of course. 👍
Never heard this one before, thank you for sharing! 👊🙂
Kenny is a great guy!
I was doing a "demo" at TRC recoding studio and ended up hanging out with Kenny and the late great John Cascella in between laying down guitar tracks. John ended up adding some keyboard tracks and saxophone tracks for us for free because he liked our tunes. The band was named "The Windows"... Great memories of great cats...
Thanks for the break from reality my friend!
God bless and take care Lee...
I remember when John passed, an incredible talent lost.
@@grimgrinningtracy9157 Yes, he was... It was cancer if I remember right.
John was one of "The good ones", for sure.
Most of the really great ones are totally down to earth. It's the insecure one's that have to talk down to everyone and put people down to falsely elevate themselves.
Thanks for your input!
God bless and take care...
I love the horns on this track along with that incredible band. 8:15
Love this song👍😊
Saludos, Desde Chile.......!!!!!!!!
Kenny is a super-cool cat (and one of the best examples there is for young players)! Love this song, but understand why it was left off the album.
Great musician, this Phil Collins! Love his songs.
Thanks for posting this. Not heard it before and really enjoyed it. My first thought was it feels like a Genesis song, which is odd because I've never felt that with a Phil Collins song before.
When you listen to a song you did many years ago like this...and grove along to it, are you hearing the whole song, or isolating the bass line in your mind? GREAT SONG BTW.
Listen to the whole song. Not me…
@@lelandsklar6363 That 🎸 guitar solo sounds like Daryl again! 💖 (Great touch, special player)
Thanks Doc for sharing You Been In Love song. This was my first time hearing it and it gave me chills. Take care of yourself and my hommies!
I remember the video for “Rain Down” it looked as though you guys were having a blast, Phil is such a talented fellow, a lot of people forget what a musical force he was over about a 15 year period
Many thanks for Your Revisit to Phil Collins B-Side! A great tune! Yes, "Flat 5 . . .this Saturday. . .that's where the Magic takes place ✨️. . ." Enjoy time with Kenny Aronoff 🌟
Wow Kenny is great I look forward to you speaking to Kenny. What a great drummer
This guy's one of the best bass players in the world keep up the good work my friend from Miami Florida
Chemo today, but really, it's so much better than cancer. I have no complaints, and I am doing well.
What stage of chemo are you and how far out on your treatment?
@@artemisXsidecross At his point, it's a maintenance item. Hedging the bet to reduce the likelihood of recurrence (plus or minus 50%). Half the previous dosage after a clean camera look, chemo delivered only to the bladder. 3 weeks instead of six, like after surgery to remove the cancer twice last year.
Technically, Stage 1 cancer, although the has been no evidence of cancer since August of last year. The next item in this medical round robin is the CT scan and then a month later, another camera incursion. Then more chemo depending on what is seen in the camera appointment.

Thank you for an update. Keep climbing to reach the Mountain Top; the return viewing is alway better. 👍
💐👍
California’s weather has been comically erratic. Has it been drinking again? Asking for a friend.
Too much Napa wine.
What a great song! It shows how great of an album But Seriously is when a song like this didn’t make the album. Phil couldn’t do anything wrong back then,
Hey lee. This is the second time this happened. I tried to look this one up and got no on my request. Such a shame. It’s a great song and as a massive phil Collins fan. A must have.
I think my favorite five Phil Collins songs are Against All Odds, Don’t Lose My Number, Two Hearts, Take Me Home and of course Heatwave from the going back album. Such a cool song and already 58 years old AND STILL BOOMING. ❤️Original from Martha & the Vandellas.
Thank you for sharing lee. 👋🏻
It’s amazing to me that today’s track is new music to my ears. It certainly has all the hallmarks of a classic Phil Collins song!
I am surprised this was not a big hit for Phil......Classic Phil sound and I like the feel.
😊 One of the best album ever ! Great music great musicians ❤Lee & Phil THX keep on rocking you're legends
Your bass sounds ace Leland ❤🎸
Tornado in E.L.A....?
That's a 1st...?🙄
Hold on to yer hats folks...!!!

I can't even keep the rain episodes straight at this point, but I think it was early yesterday morning that the rain came down in wind that I thought might be aircraft noise. I was thinking that it was like weather on other planets. (Is that what Elon Musk had in mind re: humans living on other planets?).
@@SoundsFair--M-and-J
Rain...comin' down, sideways and splashing up after hitting pools of rain.
Hope it's not going to be like this from now on....until the ice age starts...!!!😐
That's a hit right there, IMO! Just like "I Don't Blame You At All" on the flip side of Smokey's "Tears of a Clown!" Daryl's solo? Sharp!
As usual, thanks for sharing.
Instantly knew I'd love this song too after 2 bars. Thankyou.
😎👍❤🖖

Hey Lee - I always enjoyed the B-Side, "The Man with the Horn"...it got some minor radio play around '85 and I think it was from the "No Jacket Required" record and may have been the B-Side of 'One More Night'. Do you recall the song and did you play on it??
Leland you and the band mates of the Phil Collins band, all of you made such great music for me to listen to!! The stuff that came from the late 80s early 90s for the children movies soundtracks, those songs helped saved my life when I was younger because I had a serious head injury from someone who pushed my head into a corner edge 1980s zenith TV and when I was pushed my body weight shifted and the side of my head hit right above my right temple, anyway these songs from the cartoon movie soundtrack days are what I hold on to now because Leland you are my only friend and I feel like I knew you all my life, love ya buddy🎸
It’s raining in Sweden also. But that was on the A-side
Kenny is the greatest
I just came across your page. I've seen you many times in concert and have always enjoyed you. I saw you with Phil the most, but with others also. I'm enjoying your page.
Love anything Phil Collins. Have not heard this one for a while.
Did they use the "ball and biscuit " mic on the drums? Or were you not there for that?
I wonder if they called the site Flat-5 because either Tri-tone was already taken, or because of the misconception of it being the "Devils Note". It's still funny that they gave such a diminished name to something that is clearly an argumentation. (Don't know how many music jokes I can cram in here.)
Well augmented, Sir ❤
Kenny is amazing!
Have a blast!
Thanks Lee!
🌦️🌦️ Had no idea Flatfiv was a magical experience, will have to keep that in mind. However, is Aaron a musician? You could profile him. More importantly! we've never gotten to see pictures of you as a contest winning piano prodigy. That would be fun!
Is Kenny going out on the road with Fogerty again this summer?
Thank you so much for Phil. I'm crying... Mike Rutherford says "Phil is much more immobile than used to be...". I hope Phil's is surrouned by trusworthy peaople ! His health was ruined in part by very bad doctors. Please, we have to help Phil. Thank you so much with all my respect and love.
Thanks for still being Leland ,and if you did vomit wouldn’t mind from your greatness 🙏🥰❤️
That could have been an "A" side....
Then, qgain, it's Mr. Collins, Sir
Super Groove ! Thank You As Always!
Good day, Mr. Leland!!!!! Thanks for your job!!!
Listen for you from Urals, Russia!!!
I appreciate you, thank you for making content.
Nice to see you again Lee. Any news on how Phil’s doing health wise? It’s too bad that he’s not touring. Real shame!
Phil in there `90 best time of my live, best concert 1990 Berlin Waldbühne
Have you spoken to Phil lately?.
Have not in a number of months......
Hi Phil I know your looking in
Hi Leland-san! I'm second!
Hey man....hope to see you this summer. Will keep you posted on the schedule.
Hello Lee!!! How are you??? 🖐🏻
Could you do That's How I Feel next?
❤😊
❤✌
Você é um musico admirável ❤
Lee, how’s it going? I really enjoy this song it has much meaning to me due to it was not on …But Seriously… I hope Phil is doing okay. You are one of the best Bass players I’ve ever seen. I saw you guys when you guys were in NY during the First Final Farewell Tour in 2004.
Its doninic miller birthday today (or yesterday), he played on " but seriously " but not sure if he played on that track....though the solo sounds like him....oh and listen closely that ringo quote " i got blisters on my fingers" at the very end 😊
Nice bass line It was the most interesting part of the song.
😊✌🙏👍
RIP United Recorders.
Mark
Do you mean United Western Recorders?
@@artemisXsidecross An LA station (channel 5) "Mar 20, 2023
After 65 years of recording major hits by some of music's biggest artists, United Recording announced it will shut its doors to the public. The iconic Sunset Blvd. studios have been home to artists like Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Lizzo, Kendrick Lamar and Paul McCartney. Owners Hudson Pacific Properties say they will instead keep the studios for film and TV shoots."

What a great song! Too bad it was cut! Love Phil Collins, and Genesis! This was a fantastic time in music! He was a master!
Cool track…sweet bass. 🖕

U need to link up with Daryl again sometime bro been so long eversince
Great track, but I agree it doesn't quite fit in with what's on No Jacket Required or But Seriously.
