Great review. I used one for my mom and we used it for going for outings, and when going for prayers and it worked well. We also used a cushion for mom. Not quite how you have in your video but something to make it much more comfortable than the seat on its own. I love the details you go into, it really covers all the details of having one of these transport wheelchairs. :) Theraband and cup holder are awesome tweaks to have!

Well done - many thanks. I bought all three items. I am taking my wife (she has MS) on a trip to Vegas. It is her first trip there. I will be her "motor" while she cruises the Vegas strip!

I had a stroke in April in July we bought the Medlinechair. My husband's able to put it in our car we even can put it in the back seat. We haven't had any trouble using it in public. The only problem you've had is handicap access is not always good but that's a public problem but not a wheelchair problem. I find the chair very mobile I do have to scoop my feet to walking around my house myself not ready to use it as arollator yet I can get in and out of the car easily with this chair it gets really so I don't think you will have any problems using it I would highly recommend it

The front foot rest broke on mine and they offered a warranty replacement in June. Was to be shipped on July 21. Now it is due to be shipped in November. No dealers have these in stock. They are selling new ones but not replacement parts. I need a red left footrest if anyone has one left over from an abandoned chair.

The bumpy ride can be improved by swapping the wheels with air filled ones. Be Award that you have to Watch out for flat tires then.

Thinking of going on a cruise and deciding between a rollator and a transport wheelchair. My mom can walk with a cane but sometimes need a quick break to sit down. Can these transport wheelchairs be used as a rollator safely?

      Leo,
As a long-time mobility patient, I have dealt with both pieces of equipment. Rolators are really not safe to use as a Transport Chair, but a few walker/rolator types can have a seat to rest on, and can safely be used as both. But you must buy the kind that specifically states that you can push her around while she sits!
I personally believe that it depends on your Mom's mobility at the exact time you are leaving on your trip. But if I were you, I would take both items. One day, she might be able to walk more (use Rolator), but the next day, she is way too tired (from the day before?) to do any walking (needs her Transport Chair) to be safe and so she isn't stuck in her room because she doesn't have a chair!
I use my Transport Chair to maneuver myself around the house, on one floor, where I have my bedroom, kitchen, LR, DR, Bath/shower, and chairlift to go down to the front door of my home, when I have to go to the doctor appointments.
      I hope this helps!

How wide is the usual transport chair?

Seats usually are 16” depth by 18” width. The full width of the chair for doorways is 22” wide.

The Transport Chair does not have any back supports to stop the chair from going over backwards. Very Scary!!

      Dining Out:
Are you the caretaker or the patient who needs the chair? Keep looking, there are anti-tip (backwards) guards to help with that problem, if you really need it. You just need to find t he chair that accomodates that posibility. Normally, it's not too much of a problem, unless the person wiggles around too much, or will be using the chair to get around by her/hisself! I've only had one chair that made me fall backwards, its design, I learned AFTER I bought it was for someone to be pushing me everywhere, not me working the chair by myself!
You have to read the equipment information, read reviews, and if necessary, talk to the customer service representative where you expect to buy the chair, about your list of questions.
Good luck to your person! May they never fall out of a transport chair! Or become too tired to walk with their walker/rolator, without any chairs around they can sit on!!
      God bless you BOTH!
