I so loved carnac the great, classic comedy!! Imagine the fun of going to a job like that? Non stop hilarity, great humor no one would want to retire!! Thanks for great memories and ed's contagious laugh, rest in peace 💐🕊️
Bit of a delay after the "after hours tailor shop". The audience took a few second to get it, with the people who liked it being a little quicker than those who didn't.
If only we had late night comedy shows on the air today that actually did "comedy" and were as funny and entertaining as the Great Carnac. We really had some great, talented funny people that the networks would put on the air - Carson, Letterman, Leno, etc. It's all nothing but a crap sandwich today.
Johnny had many liberal views but shied away getting political. He was asked about this and replied,"I dont want to lose half my audience." Today its TDS on all the talk shows.
Still true today walk down the streets of Boston from the street hooker to the head of the Catholic Church mentioned his name and it's Bucky f****** dent
In private people have described Johnny as a centrist man in his politics. A sort of Eisenhower republican, on the moderate left side. He told friends that he was opposed to racism, opposed the Vietnam War, wanted racial equality. Supportive of gay people to be treated in equal way. Here is a quote from Johnny in 1970 "In my living room I would argue for liberalization of abortion laws, divorce laws, and there are times when I would like to express a view on the air. I would love to have taken on Billy Graham, but I'm on TV five nights a week; I have nothing to gain by it and everything to lose."
Johnny was and always will be the King.
True !
Even though as a person he turned out to be an ahole ,David Letteman was the real king of Late Night
@@bearcookie13 I didn't mind Letterman but compared to Carson he was fucking shit. 🇺🇸
I have heard many times over that JC was far from a nice person in real life.
May the Bird of Paradise do his business in your oatmeal
Love these episodes. Takes me back to my high school days. Hearing my dad laughing his butt off downstairs every week night. Johnny was pure gold.

The Macintosh, Dolly Parton, and Ford Pinto gag was great.
Only Johnny (as Carnac) could pull those off. If you tried that nowadays you'd get sued.
I still open envelopes with the Carnac method.
So do I! It drove my late husband nuts and people at work always laugh when I do it.

Making a joke about the 2 political parties 40 years ago....and sadly it still resonates today.
Ed seems like a sweetheart but totally one of the guys at the same time ready to cuss and joke a little.

I beg to differ. Letterman and Leno were the beginning of the downfall of late night. Colbert is better than both of them, by a mile.
Thank you. 😂😂😂😂.
Any videos of:
Ed: everything you wanted to know about _____ is in that ….
Johnny: “you are wrong _____ breath. ?

We not only beat the Red Sox, we won the World Series. Good times were had by all.
I remember watching that game. Huge Yankee fan. We were their double A farm club.
those days are gone for the Skankees!
And to think Bucky Dent started his career with the White Sox.

Answer- cujo question - what’s a good pet for my mother in law
He was self-deprecating, and never political.
Why are so many people against political comedy
@@peterriverajr6899 What I mean is, he never brought his politics to his show. He mocked both democrat and republican equally.
