I've said it before roadside logging is some of my favorite logging and you would be surprised on how much great wood can come out of a top of a tree it's a bit of work but I always felt it was worth it
Nice roadside find there! 👌 18 minutes to buck up those 2 is very fast! Enjoying the cutting adventures and videos, and thank you for your honorable service!
You're finding some beautiful wood Schieb, and being free makes it even better. It's a lot of work getting it out but I've kind of learned that hard work doesn't seem to bother you too much. Thanks for the great video. See you soon.
Kinda surprised you don't cut up from the bottom first and then down on those over hanging cuts. Anyway nice find and thanks for taking the time to produce these and the Sunday night chat sessions.
i would rather have it off the ground while cutting so I start at the top first. i love up rooted trees that are suspended off the ground makes things a lot easier.
Free firewood, and on flat ground. When I find something like this, it is usually tangled up and on a slope. My buddy and I have gotten pretty good at getting a cable around it and pulling it down and dragging it to the roadside. We can then cut and load without taking any further steps.
Logger Scheib! Nice score there Don! That will be a few truck loads. Would you be able to bring your trailer? Those rounds will make nice bundle grade firewood!
@Outdoors with Scheib, Just a thought mate, instead of using the metal rod with the magnet attached to your bar, Why not use a 16” zip tie secured round the right side of your handle? It saves time and double cutting every time
Thank god your perfect stick fell off. I watch all the. videos where they a perfect in every way. I was beginning to think I was doing something wrong. Nice roadside find! There is a lot of wood there brother.
Lil over the head cutting. How did your shoulders feel the next day? I did a bit of that with a husky 460 and felt it the next day. Good video and thanks for the “much gooder” comment. Put a smile on my face.
@@OutsidewithScheib The cable company and phone company never come out to fix them. They wait till the trees fall on them, and even then they never come out till people lose there service.
That awesome the saw is sure putting in it work. Plus that's a work out sawing over your head💪🏽💪🏽.. did you have to sharpen up the chain at any point just wondering?
Hi Scheib!!😀😀 That's some really nice firewood. Did you talk to the landowner and get permission to take it? Around here if you just go along the road and cut down trees you will get a fine for timber theft. The fine here in Wisconsin is 1500 dollars for timber theft. Even though I've watched a lot of trees just rot along the road but it's not worth the fine if you get caught talking it without permission. Take care may friend!!😀😀 Logger Al
The land owner is capital region water I have a few buddies that work for them and they said take it but I have reached out to the company to see if there is a proper procedure to getting the wood.
Nice size firewood, bucking is my favorite part👍!! Lugging those rounds to the truck, at 69 age is the hardest part for me!! How close could you get to those rounds buddy, know your as strong as an ox💪💪
The only downside I can see with that big-ass saw is that it creates a pile of rounds to carry out in a short amount of time. Are you going to be able to get your 3500 and closer to the wood?
Feel the burn in the arms after that session my friend. Great job schieb. What a find that will make some great firewood. Now to get it loaded. Woo hoo 🪵👊🍺🍺
Nice job. What do you do with the punky stuff? I’ve been keeping what’s good, and separating out the bad. Stay warm man, the next couple of days will be brutal for us in NEPA
Do you need a permit to cut firewood on public land ? Here in Canada we need a permit from Ministry Natural Resources, Land and Forests Department to cut wood on what we call crown land
Good jop on your wood this was a lot off wood you have i like your new video you can send me one of your stickers 108 Sawmill Lane Bradford Pennsylvania PA love your video buddy 🍺🍺
Love you channel but have ? WHY do you need all that wood i never see you make deliveries just the road side u sell it right so is it for ur heating and just roadside you dont want sell to people like deliver it thanks keep working hard love ur channel
Nice logging job you have there! Keep cuttin'!

Listen to that crunch while you're walking. That's cold. Nice score of Oak.
Yep definitely frozen
Nice score! That’s a good bit of wood. Must’ve been a heck of a wind to blow those trees over. Glad you took us along. Thanks for the video.
Thanks 👍
Nice cutting but now to load all the wood. I started to roll the rounds to where I want them to be.
Great video

I found a hand truck helpful with getting logs out of the woods. Nice find man
I can see that but how well does it work in the snow??

Nice job Scheib after all that work you be ready for 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺👍🇺🇸

That is awesome!
Great content Scheib love the roadside logging stuff👍 ordered my 500i Tuesday morning should see it in 6 weeks.

The magnet is more versatile for me. I can put it on either side and mark in both directions with the zip tie you are limited to one direction.
Score! Good find on that oak.
That’s a nice amount of firewood you got there!! You’re getting some respectable cold weather too!!🥶 -4F this morning here but going to warm up. 😎
Yeah it was -7 yesterday morning but warmed up to 26

Yes off the ground hanging by the rootball is the best
Hi Sheib, good looking oak, for firewood! Struggling with that saw though! Looks to me like your chain has been improperly sharpened. Len (Devon 🇬🇧).

A question for you. Is there a difference in cutting "frozen" wood as opposed to "non frozen" wood? |Does it make any difference to the saw or blade?
I haven’t really noticed a difference in chain sharpness longevity between frozen and non frozen cutting.
