    For you and your followers, Barry: I’m in Montana now fishing small rivers. There are about 30 species of Sallfly in the west. I ran into a prodigious hatch of one the call, Tiny Green Sally. I’m tying it in bright chartreuse size 18 1XL. If you fish the west in the spring, this is a very good pattern to have in your Arsenal.

    Beautiful pattern, fair amount of skill involved to get that fly looking as good as that

    That is a really neat trick with the UV for the wings. That fly would be very effective when the yellow sallies are around on my home waters.

    Hi Barry, I've observed the method you use for tying the wing post on a number of your patterns, but which poly yarn responds best to the heat treatment? There are so many different makes on the market. thank you

      Hi Peter, I have successfully used the Veniard and Lureflash poly yarns for this para-weld technique. But many others work also, just have to give it a go.

    Love your videos and patterns, question, are you using the thin or thick uv to lock the fibers of each wing in place?

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  5 лет назад

      Hi Jeff, thanks, quite honestly I don't think that matters so much but maybe the high viscosity one has a little less build up?

    So I see these guys post wings that look like the barbules are woven inside the stem...much the same look as a dream catcher....can you post a video of that method?

    Great pattern.
    Aren’t I crazy to think that an old school turkey down wing or even a yellow humpy would suffice?

      Thanks Paul. Yeah but where would we be if we only had a few patterns...

      The feather bender You’re right. New fly patterns give us an excuse to tie more flies.
      This one of yours is particularly nice.

      This is a very elegant pattern. Having floated this amongst Sallies, the shadow it casts is very realistic, as well.
