I enjoy your videos, humor, and learning. I have a customer with a vitex tree, and I had no clue what it was (perhaps I did not care to know) until now.
Cold May, dry June, straight to 107 heat index here in Kentucky. In a crazy season it actually helps a lot to see grass that is not perfect from a lawn guy with more experience than i have. 👍 Happy Independence Day Paul. Take care out there if you have heat like ours.
Our Vitex had a spectacular bloom this year in the Brazos Valley. It was a surprise because they looked pretty scraggly coming out of the winter. Liked the Mockingbird calls at the end of the video. I just got a McLane 25 inch reel mower for my Zorro Zoysia but I don't have as much to mow as you do. I tore my Achilles tendon last fall so I'm hobbling around behind the mower also. Good luck with the knee!
I love your videos. Happy 4th of July! Your videos are never a waste of time for me. I always learn something! I live in Las Vegas which is a transition zone and hopefully, if you have time, you can answer a question. I have multiple types of grass in my small lawn. They include Bermuda, Centipede, Zoysia and RTF fescue. I want to keep the RTF fescue but get rid of the rest. What would you do besides digging it all out? Looks like I also have spotted spurge both harry and smooth crabgrass 9:51 and nimblewill. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I moved to this place a year and a half ago and I am trying to make it the pride of the HOA. Last year, it most definitely was not. Thank you.
Glad to see you back. I saw your video about Annew PGR for control of POA triv in tall fescue a few years back. Has that still been working for you ? I think I want to give that a try this fall when I do my dethatch and over seed.I have a shady yard in Virginia and anything that I can do to punish the triv would make me feel better.
I would recommend a 25 inch McLane, the TruCut is good but your thumb will get tired from holding down the go button. But if you are going to spend that kind of money, you could look at a nice well used riding Greensmaster triplex mower. I have the Greensmaster 3 from 1974 and she's still going strong. I saw one the other day on marketplace for $2k. With a yard that size, the riding reel mower is the way to go.
I have the McLane and a healing Achilles tendon. My Zoysia yard is about 1/4 the size of Paul's backyard. I would agree with your riding reel recommendation especially for a pro. My leg is already hurting thinking about walking behind the McLane that much! BTW I got the Briggs engine and I love it! I got tired of getting the wrong part because Hondas are so serial number specific. I wish McLane would offer the 25 inch with the Vanguard 6.5 engine - that would be a great combo!
@@PaulsPrimeCuts I have the equipment to keep my reels sharp. I also tinker in all kinds of equipment repair so nothing is too complicated. They are basic gas engines and a basic hydraulic setup.
@@geomark8851 I have two McLanes, they are good mowers. I have Achilles tendinitis in both heels, so I understand what you’re saying. That’s why I love my Toro greensmaster three. I can mow all day and don’t have to walk hardly at all.
Hey Paul another great video. I’m starting to get myself ready for the overseeding season and wanted to know what you thought about MVS vs Southern Seed. For my full renovation last year I used Southern Seed and have about a 100 pound left that I plan to use. With that said I see many more established yards on RUclips who use MVS. Should I switch up yearly or keep it consistent? Thanks in advance.
Both are good seed, I use both but prefer the southern seed. You will see MVS more because it is a huge seed producer that sells under that name around the world, southern seeds is a local distributor in NC that picks the top performers from a big seed producer called Pure Seed to make the triple threat fescue blend. Southern seeds only comes from one place as where Mountain View is sold every where so you will see more MVS.
Hey Paul just picked up a permagreen for my first ride on from watching your videos. Can you spray wettable powders through it without problems? Also I’ve seen your vids on spraying wdg prodiamine, do you do anything special on the machine side of thing (taking screens out etc) to be able to run those kinds of products?
I have never ran a a wetable powder in the permagreen. I do remove the screens to spray WDG … the ones at the spray tips the ones in the tank and the one in the can at the back of the machine
Told ya I wud come help ya but now we’re both kinda handicap wtffff 😂 actually just mowed mine with my neighbors gas reel mower for the first time, pretty sweet man I think ima try and find a used one
How lowwwww can you go 😂. Except for that time you seen dude at church tho and your like yea man don’t worry I went ahead and smoked the rest of that bent grass off man don’t worry 😂
I’ve got a 30” cal trimmer style mower for sell if interested. Built by peach tree mower company. I have 35k of zoysia and it’s way too much to mow with a walk behind reel mower to be honest.

Ha! Yeah most of the year it’s just another tree

Thanks! They are going to fix the knee on the 6th so hopefully that will be over with. The McLane looks like a pretty straight forward machine
Yes sir, happy to see your back Paul
Hey Paul glad to see another video hope the knee is doing better hope you and your family have a great 4th of July
Thank you! Hope you have a great 4th as well
You should look into used sports field reel mowers. It would save a lot of time over pushing and you have the knowledge to repair them. Nice cars!
Yeah he’s got some sweet rides
Great video Paul!
Toro makes a big ride on reel mower. I’m sure there’s other companies that do also. That’s what I’d check into. Happy Independence Day
Yeah I have been looking around for a used one

Paul, I enjoyed the video. Is Bermuda the best grass type for homeowners where you live?
It is probably the most common lawn in my area

@@PaulsPrimeCuts awesome man! I’m grateful for you answering all my questions over the last year. I know you are busy, but keep up the content!
Hello Mr. Paul...triplex fairway mower with your money!!!!
Stand by for a text
You’ll be good as used after few weeks removed from surgery. Hopefully the hamburger summit happens before aeration season
I’m looking forward to it

I called about the one Paul Wade found… as soon as I can walk I am going to check it out if the dude still has it
Hey Paul, is this bent grass yard in the Raleigh area?
About 50 miles east of Raleigh
10-4. Thanks. I found you.
I’m about an hour down I95. Let me know if you wanna talk reel mowers. I could bring one up and let you try it.
