  • Just in time for The Last Jedi, and only a year after you began requesting it... we finally have the sins of Rogue One. And there are plenty. Maybe more sins than midichlorians in this movie.
    Thursday: Sins of a 90's adventure.
    Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

      Actually, Vader is slow NOT because of confidence, though he does have plenty to spare. He's slow because of the suit and all the life-support equipment required to keep him going. Palpatine designed it specifically to keep Vader from making any kind of real recovery from Mustafar and unable to make a move against him

    • @rev0568
      @rev0568 3 года назад +13

      @@kalligthegrey7010 That's legends. In the new canon, Vader is more than capable of moving faster and, more than that, has made adjustments to his suit before. So this is in part, his confidence and lack of faith in the rebels.

Imagine how much more edgy it would've been if he crushed it in his hands. But, there were more copies made! It could've been a race to find all the plans, and considering how powerful Vadar is, he could've destroyed multiple ships trying to take off, but one gets away, Leia's. also it's never stated that the exhaust port was 1. even actually stated to be there by galen erso. or 2.part of galen's plan. the flaw galen built is ONLY the fact that an explosion to the reactor would cause the destruction of the system. the exhaust port could have very easily been someone else's legitimate mistake. also the fact that the entire tube was free of obstructions (turbines, grates and the like) is extremely convenient for luke and the rebels however seeing as that was the ONLY exhaust port for the entire station and it was ONLY 1m wide makes it a bit more understandable as to why it was built the way it was. as far as the reactor flaw, most starwars reactors can take a pretty decent beating before they explode as is evedent in the force awakens with starkiller base. also, even when they do explode its not usually an event that will vaporize the entire ship/station, as is shown in the phantom menace with the trade federation control ship. I have no doubts that if the empire had completed construction of the second death star it would not have had the reactor flaw and would have been effectively impossible fore the rebel alliance to combat let alone destroy.

For whatever reason, that vague statement is not unlike what Chirrut says the entire movie. It is vaguely connected and true, so I think the force is somehow leading him to say those.

      He still strongly believe in the Jedi code and believe that the force will continue to guide people to "do the right thing"(Basically, "A strong heart is guided by the force").

      which is why sith lords mainly use red, why yoda has a green sabar and the skywalker sword is blue.

      Azura Moonstar before a few months ago the red crystal was created artificially which made them red and more powerful, but it also gave them a tendency to malfunction. Only very recently did Disney make it that a Sith would have to make a Jedi’s crystal “bleed” and only then could the Sith properly take control of the crystal. Personally I liked it the way it was before.

  • @boi905
    @boi905 6 лет назад +273

    This is hilarious, but you weren’t paying attention in several places.
    1) There are thousands of exhaust ports on the Death Star, and one that is deceptively connected to the main reactor. It’s literally a needle in a haystack.
    2) The rebel fighters on Eadu literally set off an alarm. It happens right before they fly in, yet you’re sinning it for not setting off an alarm. Try watching the movie next time.
    3) Galen didn’t have access to the plans, and if he tried to get them it would have raised suspicion.
    4) Jyn doesn’t have swords, those are the landing batons, you literally see the person she stole the uniform using them when they land on Scarif. Again, try watching the movie.
    5) Leia was being escorted to Tatooine by Admital Radus on his ship, then he decided to fight and they went here to get the plans first. Then Leia made a daring escape on board the Tantive IV, though I’ll give you a pass there because that was in the Rogue One book and not explained in the movie.
    Anyways, this was hilarious and I love your videos.

    • @GAdmThrawn
      @GAdmThrawn 6 лет назад +30

      1) Actually there were thousands of exhaust ports in the second Death Star, not the first. The first had just the one (or perhaps a few others) of the same size as it allowed more exhaust to escape from the reactor. The ones on the second were smaller than 2m to fix the design flaw. And I really don't understand why he even sins the design flaw as it's not that big of a flaw at all. Half of the Rebel fighter defense were killed in their passes on the exhaust port and it was pretty tight and heavily defended. The weakness that Galen explains in the film isn't so much on the exhaust port but rather on the reactor itself that would cause a chain reaction.
      2) True that.
      3) No argument here either.
      4) True true.
      5) In ANH, Leia even said that she was on her way to Tatooine to pick up Obi-Wan and bring him to Alderaan. She just gets handed the plans as a safety measure that doesn't really last. So, really, he doesn't need to read the book to figure this out he can just remember the other films. But I'm sure he would sin it anyways because that would be homework.

      TBH it's a bit much for CS to say that the flaw should have been noticed by anyone who took a cursory glance at the plans and fixed and also note that it took a one-in-a-million shot that was only possible through the use of the force by the chosen one and therefore not remotely obvious to anyone else. Like, I get the point is nitpicking for laughs but those two adjacent statements completely contradict each other.

    What always amuses me in science fiction (or space opera ...) is how an entire planet is used for one thing:
    The prison planet, the archive planet, the factory planet, the farming planet ...
    Scale it down to our globe and you have to build the prison city, the archive city, the factory city and the farming city.
    My tiny home town of 100.000 people has libraries and archives, a jail, Adidas headquarters and lots of farming.
    Do I make sense?

    • @slvrcobra1337
      @slvrcobra1337 6 лет назад +13

      That is kinda funny, but I think they do that because it's easier for the audience to keep track of, and often times they are newly-developed/colonized planets.
      So using Earth as an example, I guess they're using the colonization of the New World as a template, as certain parts of the Americas were better for farming or lumber or fur, so that was the primary use of those areas until many years later they developed into multi-faceted cities and states.

    • @PongoXBongo
      @PongoXBongo 6 лет назад +9

      When you have a sufficiently large multi-planet society, then planets become the new cities. And we do have farming towns, mining towns, financial centers, etc. The only reason Earth is this diverse is because it's the only planet we've got, and we need to use it for everything.

    • @eugenideddis
      @eugenideddis 6 лет назад +8

      Prison, factory and farming planets make some sense. Prisons don’t need to be perfectly habitable, so putting them on planets that are out of the way, and not very nice to live on make sense. Factories are often close together, and would be best kept away from agricultural centers, so the entire planet having manufacturing as a primary source of their economy would make sense. Farming planets need good soil and water, but not much else, so the planet might not have any heavy metals, but still be able to grow crops. As for Archives, it’s likely that certain planets don’t have a ton of influence, but they have collected a lot of information, so the only reason people go there is to access the archives.
      This is Star Wars I’m more referencing here, where planets which are influential are diverse, but less important ones barely make enough to get by. Doctor Who has a planet that is entirely covered by a library and that really doesn’t make sense. Star Trek, well every species has a hat, so why wouldn’t the planets have one?

      Pretty early. New Hope was a smash hit and they got all the money they needed, but still published that story as a book.
