- In this instructive video, Gary Lane of Star Time Supply explains how to use a popular Bergeon Waterproof Watch Tester, BG5555/98. This is similar to other "wet" waterproof testers. This particular model does not have a connection to use an air compressor.

I tried to order some materials from your website, but, seeing as I'm not a 'watch maker' I was not allowed. Ended up buying a Calypso from Cousins, and some Horotec tools from Otto Frei. I don't know any 'watch makers'. Technicians, repair people, but no 'watch makers'. Mahalo for the video.

So, if you see bubbles, you’ve ruined your watch?
ok ... and what happens if the watch can't withstand the pressure? Is the watch broken? I'dont want bubbles in my watch :-)
the idea is you have a controlled environment and can quickly remove the watch before water can damage it (you can use a hair dryer)
3 bar is at a depth of 20 m!
google says that 2 bar is 200 meters and 10 bar is 100 meters. Is that right,
No. 1 bar = 10 meters
Is that a genuine Bergeon or a cheap Chinese counterfeit?
the Bergeon sign kind of gives it away..
@@oscarslife5497LOL! Nope. That means nothing.
thats not how u perform a pressure test on a watch
Bobby Dazzler is it not? How would you recommend to test then?
Without elaborating that’s a pretty useless comment.
This test will ruin your watch if it has a seal problem.
No it will not.
@@JonTheComputerDoctor yes it will. You do the test without the movement in the case.
@@pwrestoration Defeats the purpose once you open the case to get the movement back in you would need to test again to guaranteed water resistance.
@@PhluXx1 this is why dry testers were invented. It seems like a huge risk otherwise.
