Big thumbs up and thank you for the video. Your Caddy is completely unrecognisable compared to how it was. It was properly hanging when you bought it, but it's now mint inside and out. Very few people would have would have or could have achieved what you have done in such a short time frame. Full credit to you Dobbo.
Karl thank you mate, some say it would have been easier to buy a different van but I really wanted air con and electric pack and most don’t have that. It was definitely in a state when I bought it but I persisted with it and I’m really happy how it’s turned out. I’ve done all this work and a mostly full time job behind the scenes in 7 weeks. Just need to lower it, add a few trims to the outside and the engine swap. Always really appreciate your comments 👍👍👍
Hey Mike your right it was an absolute shed, so there’s plenty of caddies out there but I didn’t have a massive budget and I wanted AC and electric windows etc and this one fit the bill but it was hanging everywhere. Hope you enjoy the videos mate and thank you for your comment 👍
Hey bud thank you I’m super happy with the van and yes I did loose abit of skin on the knuckles. The later caddies have less metal to cut away so abit easier. Really appreciate your comment 👍
Thanks mick I’m happy with it, took the mrs and kids out last night and they enjoyed it in the back. Most of the time there’s a trick to a job it just took a minute to work out how to get the seat belt fixings in.
Thanks Darren appreciate that 👍 I’m looking forward to that to, drove the caddy last night and I don’t like the 5speed box and the BLS engine is a lot noisier than the BKD.
Wooo another video on the Caddy! Smashing it man, this is a nice upgrade! Love how easily removable the seats are too should you need to use it as van in the future 👌
Hey Dan thank you mate 👍👍 yes I like how easy the seats come out, I built it as I wanted a small van then put seats in the rear 😂 but as they pop out in seconds it still a full van.
My 2007 Caddy 1.9 tdi is going well. It was dirty when I got it. Looks good now. I might make a bumper like yours. Not sure if I wanna lift it and put all terrains on or lower it. Hmm
Ur works outstanding totally underrated brother keep up the work, vans gonna look minted, I think u should put a flat bottom gti wheel with the buttons swap the gti plate to a TDi one nice finish
You can get the plastic trim from a caddy life model for the side door entrance at the bottom sill /step inside if you know what I mean . Still have to trim a bit off round the touran bracket but looks better
For the dash end pieces where you cut the lugs might be worth trying the ones from a golf plus they have a caddy style dash in but alot of the trim pieces are the same
Hey there, just sorted the seats into my caddy rear, did you have any issues with the seatbelts not retracting properly? If so what did you do to get them working right? Thanks
Is there any way you can put the brackets into the caddy without welding - like bolting it in, some friends of mine suggested that to keep the costs down, but everyone seems to weld
That’s an incredible amount of work going into this Caddy. I want to know a final build cost estimate for this when it’s finished with your hours costed in at like a £25 to £50 per hour Labour rate
It’s definitely taken a while B-ry, if I take into consideration human hours then it’s not worth building it, it would have been cheaper to go and buy one. You never include man hour costs with something like this, I’m £3k in cash into it and the repaint alone is another £3k let alone the engine swap, I’ve seen on Facebook posts it’s £1500 for the rear seat conversion. Brian you remember your Suzuki swift? Definitely don’t include the man hours in these builds 😂
@@YTDTETV Yeah of course you won’t count your hours when you’re looking at what it costs you but it would be interesting to add it all up as if you were going bill somebody for doing it at a standard hourly rate
@@brianstorm4806 yep ok B-Ry I’m with ya. So the paint job is easily £3k and as mentioned the rear seat conversion is around £1500, it’s gota be around the £2k mark for supply and fit the engine and gearbox I have with ecu etc, lowering the van has to be £750 inc parts, then last job is board and carpet line the rear that’s gota be £500, then the price of the van £1000. A few other small bits and it could be £10k a customer would have to pay 😮. At the moment it owes me £3k so it’s a nice saving if you can do all the work yourself.
I love your caddy mate ✌️ stupid question here, how did you wire the touran front seats to the caddys electric wires ? Do you have a diagram ? 👀 thanks in advance 🍻
Hey bud thank you appreciate that 👍 not a silly question, my caddy was poverty spec and didn’t have any wires to the seat for airbag etc so didn’t need any wiring
Thank you for the reply 🤙 i Just want heatet seats before its winter 😅 my caddy seats was heated and the touran seats is also heated, but its not the same wiring 😆😅
@YTDTETV sorry ye watched the next video and saw haha cracking van that youv got, the leisure battery and tv/screen is genius, did you consider flocking any parts or using suede...?
I need to take my touran seats out (need space) 😢😢 seems it’s going to be harder than I thought I guess I need extra floor aswell hopefully I can do a deal for someone to take them out 😂😂
Hey bud, yes there a few bits of metal under the seats holding them down, with the seats out you might have enough room the touran floor bit does sit flat. Failing that I’m sure someone will swap them out for you as replacement 👍👍
That is a good point 👍 I really wanted a small van but if someone just wanted a bigger vehicle then yes it would have been a whole lot easier to just tidy the touran up.
This build just gets better and better. Love the way your doing it with the factory look 👌🏾
Thanks bud really appreciate that 👍

That van was a shed when you started,…….. absolutely stunning motor!! Binge watching at the moment.

Epic work DT. Getting the van ship shape was one thing, converting to rear seats takes it to another level
Thanks Karter really appreciate that 👍👍 next video is lowering it then engine swap.
WOW what a talent you’ve got, brilliant work,it was addictive viewing thanks
And I struggle to put up an air freshener. Amazing job
The Caddy gets bloody awesome! Excellent job 👍👍👍👍
Thank you mate appreciate that 👍👍👍
That rear conversion looks factory, you really are a wizz with the conversion and detail, keep them coming Nathan.
Thanks Nigel I’m happy, kids enjoy it. Sill a few more vids on the caddy 👍👍
can't wait for the end product, don't forget anymore of your day to day stuff sir, we love your how too etc
The vans looking really nice a lot more work than I thought it would be makes it nice and comfy like driving a golf
Hey Stuart thank you mate 👍 it feels very similar to my golf really happy.
Inside looking fresh now , that seat will be like night & day for comfort nice work as always , looking forward to seen it lowered
I’m looking forward to seeing it lowered to it sits so high like a off road van 😂
Excellent work Sir! Keep em coming, really enjoy watching, thank you 🙏✌️ peace.
Thanks Simon really appreciate that mate 👍👍
Looked like a massive job ... But looks sweet now 😃
It was abit involved but can enjoy the van with the family now so happy days, thanks Phillip 👍👍
Mega job on the seat conversion you can do so much to these caddy’s!👌
Thank you bud 👍👍 yes there’s so much out there that you can do to them. Really happy with my one
Just wow. Really inspiring. Great results.
Hey bud thank you appreciate that 👍
You've done amazing bits there converting van.....the seatbelts were a mission....the knuckles are showing some seatbelt war wounds
Hey bud thank you I’m super happy with the van and yes I did loose abit of skin on the knuckles. The later caddies have less metal to cut away so abit easier. Really appreciate your comment 👍
Hi m8 that caddy is looking the dogs now the seats suit it. You've done a really great job and love the seat belt trick.
Thanks mick I’m happy with it, took the mrs and kids out last night and they enjoyed it in the back. Most of the time there’s a trick to a job it just took a minute to work out how to get the seat belt fixings in.
Lovely job mate 👍🇬🇧
So impressive what you can do bro, looks amazing, KTM looking pretty as always too!
Hey bro thank you 👍👍 yes I did debate on selling KTM but then I rode it 😊
Looks unreal 👌 really making me want to buy a caddy and do this conversation as well lol.
Hey Davey thank you mate 👍 I’m just fitting another set for a friend to a caddy after he saw my video.
Unreal work as always bud 👍, looking forward to engine conversion time 👍
Thanks Darren appreciate that 👍 I’m looking forward to that to, drove the caddy last night and I don’t like the 5speed box and the BLS engine is a lot noisier than the BKD.
looks banging mate 👍👍👍👍👍

Hey bud thank you really appreciate that👍 I do like a flat bottom steering wheel so I’ll look into it. 2.0BKD swap is next.
What size spot weld drill bit did you use mate. This will be me next job, got the seats ready & a mate is going to weld the plate for me.
Great build and great content. Thanks
Thank you bill appreciate that 👍👍
That’s a bloody good idea the cubbyi mesn
You can get the plastic trim from a caddy life model for the side door entrance at the bottom sill /step inside if you know what I mean . Still have to trim a bit off round the touran bracket but looks better
Hey Keith thank you bud 👍 I never knew about that trim but just googled it and your right they look loads better, just need to find one for sale now.
For the dash end pieces where you cut the lugs might be worth trying the ones from a golf plus they have a caddy style dash in but alot of the trim pieces are the same
Hey bud niceone I’ll have a look at them 👍
Hey there, just sorted the seats into my caddy rear, did you have any issues with the seatbelts not retracting properly? If so what did you do to get them working right? Thanks
Another top video learnt alot from you on this one cheers
Hey David thank you mate appreciate that 👍
Top job that interior mod took lots of faffin but well worth it looks stock ! Impressive
Thank you bud appreciate that 👍👍
Lot of work
It has taken some time, is half the fun with this sort of project I think. Apart from rubbing all the bodywork down I’ve enjoyed the rest.
Is there any way you can put the brackets into the caddy without welding - like bolting it in, some friends of mine suggested that to keep the costs down, but everyone seems to weld
Hey bud I’m not sure I havnt seen it done but maybe loads of bits and bolts would do it 👍
That is some dedication Id have given up long ago and gone home Crying 🤣
The interior made a big difference, the arm rest was abit fiddly to fit but persistence payed off. Really appreciate The comments 👍👍
Hi mate, is there any chance you could do a more in-depth vid on the rear seatbelts location where to drill please?
Great video looks good 👍
Thanks ghetto appreciate that mate 👍👍
Still loving the videos!! Always entertaining! What’s the situation with the pd140 golf any new videos coming on that ?
Hi Felipe 👍 thank you mate appreciate that. Yes I’ve got 2 more videos on the caddy then another video on the golf 👍

That’s put me off doing a rear seat conversion myself lol
Hey David it is a little bit involved with grinding and welding etc
Yeah, someone local charging a grand too do it but I’ve too supply the seats , belts and a few other bits
Did you have to run power for electric windows with those door cards ?
Hi bud my van already had electric windows 👍
Well done DTE it came together really well, what is that song on the video at 8.50 ??? 👌🏼
Hey bud really appreciate that thank you 👍 in my editing app it comes with RUclips friendly music and it’s called “wrong”.
@@YTDTETV No worries and thanks
After painting that a pillars what will you do with the sun visors and grab handles est...?
Hi bud I painted them to and the paint hasn’t come off 👍

You need more subscribers content great!!
Thank you sir really appreciate that 👍 comments, likes and a cheeky share helps the channel grow. Hopefully it will happen.
How did u do the step to get in the Back I used the caddy one but I don't like how it sits
I just trimmed mine down but it doesn’t look to great, the caddy life ones are a proper one for the dear conversion
Take it easy mate
👌👍😎

That is a good point 👍 I really wanted a small van but if someone just wanted a bigger vehicle then yes it would have been a whole lot easier to just tidy the touran up.
What a day😀
Thanks francis 👍👍
Would you be better to cut the outer panels to get the seat belt fixings in? Then weld up and repair before paint. Caddy looks great!
@@mike_hayes Hi Mike the seat belts where definitely a pain, cutting it open would have made it a lot easier for sure 👍
Takk!
Hey francis thank you mate 🙏👍😊
Do you know if you can put mk2 touran dashboard in 2006 caddy mate?
Hi bud I’m pretty sure you can 👍 I’ve seen a few early caddy’s with them in but I havnt done it myself the bolt hole locations will be the same.
Did I actually miss this one. How????
Come on bro 😎
I have a renault kangoo looks just the same as this caddy .i think .
They are a very similar shape 👍
