  • In this video I will explain a step by step process of thinking like a data analyst. I and my friend Hemanand who is a data analyst manager did a little skit where I played a role of an owner of a software services company who is facing issues prioritizing clients and Hemanand played a role of a data analyst who is helping this company build a BI dashboard in power BI.

    great way to deal with client & understand business..
    basically i like that logic of giving weight to perticular columns like profitability & revenue..
    2 : your business depends on customer business /revenue hence considering the customer business / revenue status aslo good idea..
    3 : also knowing the preference of client wrt sliver , golden & diamond Also important whoch will help us to set classification matrix..
    ( i think we can use precision/sensitivity here ) so that diamond customer should not be predicted as silver , otherwise it'll be a big loss.
    4 : we can add no of products customer is selling to get an idea about customer business
    5 : Employees satisfaction index : really nice feature ( employees satisfaction proportional to cust_business & also proportional to your business )..
    very nice video sir 🙏❤️.

    Raw and basic conversations like these gives us so much idea, what actually goes through the data analyst thought process. Lectures are easily forgotten, but practicals are always remembered. Thanks a lot for sharing this video.

      Just a question, you got a Data Scientist job after cracking an interview which focussed deeply on Data Structures and Algorithms? That's something weird, please feel free to clarify. 😅

      @@anonymouslyawesome8125data structures and algorithm was one of the part of interview. It had a weightage of around 20%. Other parts include python, statistics, probability, SQL and obvious ML. So I prepared DS Algo from this channel.

    Thanks for such a helpful video! So important to clearly understand our client's requirements and break down each of the tasks to get a good understanding of the problem. Afterwards, we can look at their database and all the data sources involved. Once everything is connected to Power BI, we can develop the dashboards.

I figured out what i could do much better and I came to know that was the most important thing I could have figured out. Classification of customers.

      For a Data Analyst, you will have to be very comfortable to work with Data right from cleaning, transforming, analyzing, visualizing it. Be familiar with SQL, excel, tableau/power bi, pandas, numpy, matplotlib. Little bit of ML algorithms knowledge is fine.

    • @codebasics
      @codebasics  2 года назад +1

      For doing masters in USA, it is preferred you go for computer science. If you go for data analytics course you will most likely have issues finding a job that will sponsor your h1b. hence going for a generalized computer science course where there are tons of jobs and also employers are willing to file h1b will be more appropriate. You can select few data analytics subjects and later on become a data scientist even with CS degree
