It's funny, most of these supposedly hard stages are actually really, really easy if you ignore a few rules of fair play. Nintendo really weren't thinking when they put that superman feather in the game.
the feather/cape has to be the most ridiculous item in any Mario game.
sprocket2005 No the most ridiculous item is the raccoon suit in Super Mario 3. It doesn't make you invincible like the cape, but the way it works... Mario eats a dead leaf, which then turns him into a sort of raccoon-human hybrid that somehow flies. Then the raccoon hybrid becomes a full raccoon suit which also flies, but can also turn you into a statue... I'd love some of those Nintendo designer drugs XD

+Kristian Brandt Actually there are legends and tales in Japan that talk about Racoons with leaves on their heads and how they are shape-shifters, so Raccoon Mario makes more sense in Japan :) The other animal who had the same power was the fox and guess what? Luigi now turns into a fox!

I loved super Mario world, it made me feel so good about myself. Especially the messages in the special worlds. I felt like I was the best player in the world when I played them as a little kid

Sendy Lie Tubular was hard, but outrageous make me really angry until i think about this easy way to pass.
I remember how happy I was when I finally beat this and seeing that "You are a super player!" in the day, early 90's. Star Road was tough too. Tubular was just mean.

That's why Tubular is the hardest of the special stages rather than any of the later ones - it's pretty much impossible to get enough of a running start to be able to fly over the stage.

Wow! I actually did get to the Special World but I only defeated Gnarly once and never got further than Tubular. Thank you for uploading this because I've renewed interest in my SNES again and you have motivated me to try my luck with this game again.( I have defeated the game long ago, but I became frustrated with this world and gave up).

You mentioned that you enjoyed the video but you still clicked the dislike because you suspect that the uploader cheated. This wasn't a speed run, this wasn't part of a pressurized tournament. The uploader just wanted to show that he/she beat the Special World in under ten minutes. How about asking the uploader if he used hacks? I'll do it for you.

None of these levels seem hard at all really, tubular however....that level is a *REAL* pain in the ass. Even to this day I've never beaten it.

What I love about this game is that you don't even have to do everything to get the special levels
Here's a better way to beat 'Tubular';
Use a blue yoshi and eat one of the koopa-troopas and just fly all the way to the end of the level but avoid all enemy projectiles!
Magnificent! I still can't look at "Awesome", "Outrageous" and "Mondo" without grinding my teeth
This is bringing back some great memories! How many bugged out when they seen the turtles with Mario heads and the landscape in fall colors. But who got that done and someone erased or hit the game and you had to start ALL the way back at 0%?
When I was about 8 or 9 I had this game for the GBA. Somehow I actually managed to get this world unlocked. Level 2....my lord took me years because I would just fucking rage so much when i always ran out of air or got hit. So I stopped playing and then one day I picked up my GBM and did it in one try. Life huh.

As a kid, I always wished that the blue, green, orange, and red orbs at the top of the screen on the map for the Special World would have also been a level that you can go to. I even vividly remember having a dream when I was 7 that you could actually go there, but you had to find a secret exit in one of the Special World stages. Once you got there, it was a regular outside level, but there were different parts of the ground that you had to traverse through that were blue, green, orange, and red. There was also an assortment of fireworks that lit up the sky as you got closer and closer to the end of it. Then I woke up and was very disappointed that it wasn't real. Ah well, perhaps somebody will do a rom hack someday where you CAN actually go there.
+- COLON - Yeah it's the Famicom SNES button colours. PAL SNES is exactly the same. Would have been nice to have bonus bonus stages, but I guess these stages were already bonus ones from Star Road (a bonus world, haha).
One time I had a dream where I was playing Super Mario Galaxy 3... I was so disappointed when I woke up. It all looked very realistic, too.
I used to think that there was a hidden level in Super Mario 64, behind the Princess's portrait on the outside of the castle :)
I DON'T EVEN WANT TO ADMIT HOW LONG I'VE BEEN STUCK ON "OUTRAGEOUS!" I don't know who to be more mad at: myself for being an idiot or the game for mentally stumping me. ARGH! Both I suppose. Ugh.

@@sigmagamingg420 Here's my reasoning. With Tubular if you have a cape and Blue Yoshi you can use the koopa shells to fly to the end and since there's multiple times where you can get a koopa shell in that level all you really need to do is dodge the football's and fire balls. In Outrageous, neither the cape nor the Blue Yoshi will help you much. There's also just a ton more to dodge in that level with the little fire thingys that are really hard to see, the fire spitting piranha plants, and what not.
@@yumesama9883 Forgot to mention: Tubular is easy if you're not hunting for all 470? dragon coins.
It took me a bit over 1 hour to finish off this bit, I was so upset and angry by it. Almost broke something out of fury. And boy did I feel like a super player at the end
that tubular run is hands down the best thing i've ever seen.

Lets remember, I was like 5-6 years old trying to navigate a level with the P balloon while all this other shit is being thrown at me the whole time!! Level BROKEN!! lol. It was outrageously amazing how you cleared outrageous.. I guess outrageous is not so outrageous when you just fly above the whole stage..
I must have broken at least 2 controllers in anger before passing tubular. If you pick up the flying yoshi from the water level of star road it's much easier.
OH HELL NO! Now wait now! How did you beat _Tubular_ like it was nothing? When I was little, I could never beat that damn stage. I think I got so frustrated that I threw the controller one time. I'm hella taken aback right now. You just breezed through that level like it was nothing.

I remeber trying so hard to finish the tubular level and was so happy when i did. I also like the names of the special worlds
you sir really are a super player. i managed to complete special levels by running SMW on my xbox and using tonnes of in game saves that come with the emulator. even using saves on ever few inches on the level it still took me a few days to complete. you make it look so simple.
My brother and I spent many hours of our childhood playing this game! I remember it felt like a true acomplishment when we beat the special star roads!

I was replaying the game a couple minutes ago, beat it 100% again, and right after I finished that's what I thought. Lmao
I remember playing Gnarly. This dude makes it look so easy. I have my emulator loaded up now so I can try this tactic. When I first saw it I was thinking "This guy is NOT going to just float through this level without hitting the balloon..." .. tch! What-EVER! Made me feel like a chump :) Crazy skill!

What is called emulation? Is that the name of this emulator? Or were you saying that is what kind of gaming this is? I know an emulator is a type of software (znes, for example) and what we're seeing is an emulation. I apologize but I really don't understand your comment :-) Happy gaming!
Zackery Gee pretty sure what he's saying is to use the autosave feature with an emulator, to basically cheat your way through using autosave so you can press a button and go back if you die. i believe that's a cheap tactic to use though cause i'd rather have a challenge, so seems to me like lemon just isn't up to the challenge and would rather cheat his way through.

That second level on the special star roar took me a few days to beat. You did it mad pro. i Had to use the thing that makes you float in the beginning, and somewhere in the middle again.

That superman power-up really is far too good, considering how easy it is to acquire.
kinda, most of the levels were designed so you couldn't just fly through them to the end. making it useful, yes, but hardly ever the end all of a levels success.
Nathaniel Beven yea it is really useful for that one secret area where there are coins everywhere and the giant pipe pillers you can easily stack up seven lives repeatadly, i forgot the name of the level though wheere it is

I remember when i was a kid i would replay awesome to get extra lives. You could get so many utilizing the two invincibilities you can get.

Essenitally you have done a speed run, very well, which many gamers love to do. The best example being super metroid which is famous for its speed run where people try to do both getting all items or skipping them. You have done the latter here
