I just scored a 2017 frame BNIB and let me tell you first hand...its just as awesome if not better than the 80s model PK. It still took my breath away like it did back then and building it like I want and then giving it to my young son when finished, is a dream come true for this 52 year old dad. I cant think SE Bikes enough. They are the only bike company out there that thinks and lives 80s bmx when developing their product line. I will be making SE Bikes part of my son's life. Thank you for keeping the dream alive guys. Don Johnson Riverside California
These may seem expensive - But I'm from a different generation and I HATE mountain bikes or anything over 20's. - PK Rippers ARE truly CLASSICS. Just look at the welding alone, that's what every kid in Jr. High wanted, even when I pulled up on my Skyway TA, then my Streetbeat and then a Hutch Trickstar... and others with their CW's, GT Pro performers, Haros and Redlines just looked boring... - Everyone seemed to LOVE PK Ripper and that awesome radical Welding job. I actually wish this had even MORE insane welding and came in black with gold trim... or black with purple accessories...
I seen one PK ripper on ebay it had an absolutely undescribable frame, the seat stays where unreal, not just straight tubing it was nothing I've ever seen before on a BMX frame
How about a high polished titanium pk ripper in the future with matching titanium fork, bars, pivotal seatpost, and crank, as well as a lightweight set of mags(for that classic look and feel), and hydraulic disc brake. I'd definitely preorder one
are bmx cruiser ideal for commuting ? I already owe a 20" bmx but, I want a 2nd bike to commute to work in idk if i should cop the new "big flyer" or something like the "lager" for that purpose I want something comfortable to ride on, gears arent really an issue since im used to bmx please let me know 🙏🏾
The limited production is a factor when they hit our shores they are sold out and back order in weeks and you will wait until the next race season to acquire one.1984$500,1995$700,2010$900 today (2021)custom built$1100-2000.
It's cool, but I don't understand where the money is in these bikes. This is supposed to retail for close to $900, and there's really nothing I see that justifies it. It's a basic, welded, aluminum frame w/a steel fork. No component gruppo, no carbon fiber, no titanium, no suspension, no high-end aftermarket parts-why are these bike so expensive? I'm genuinely curious.
Understood; I never said that CF is a viable material for BMX bikes. The point I was making is that expensive road and mountain bikes are usually built from expensive materials that require equally expensive fabrication techniques, and a number of components, such as component gruppos, suspension, carbon wheel sets, disc brakes, etc. This bike is just some welded basic aluminum tubes, a steel fork, and a few inexpensive components-why does it cost $900?
The bike does have expensive and quality parts but another reason it's expensive is because the process of making the 6066 aluminum frames light and strong for hard core racing can be difficult, hope that clarifies :)
I only WISH that this came with 3-piece cranks... *THE Best cranks I've ever owned were totally aerodynamic Sugino Ct 3 piece cranks that used to come stock on the Diamond Back Formula One bike back in the early 80's - Now Those were some Insane cranks! - Why did they even put 2-piece cranks on this?????
Thanks for the tip. I ended up just buying the 2018 Haro Lineage Master and I'm very happy with it. *The cranks appear to be exactly like those old 3-piece Redline Flights... so you're saying that all 3-piece cranks today are actually 2-piece? My Haro clearly says that they're 3-piece. And I still LOVE the welding on the PK Rippers... I just think that SE Racing-Pk Ripper, has gone too commercial now with their names of the bikes and their larger tires meant for inner-city kids to cruise and do wheelies with... I WOULD have bought this bike here but it didn't have any freestyle accessories, like a gyro or pegs, or a chromoly frame, etc. And I really don't like those small necks, I've always had issues with always having to tighten them-up all the time. And this here is an Aluminum frame, not chromoly... no wonder why it's so light-weight. And it is less than half the price of my Haro Lineage Master. - Great bikes though. ***And the difference in weight with mine having the gyro, pegs and all chromoly is that my Haro is 28.2 lbs. - Not 20.7 like this one here...
Hi ! I have a PK Ripper with bottom brakes behind the sprocket & the seat clamp is part of the actual frame. I haven't fixed it up yet and haven't researched this model at all yet. Just wondering if you know anything about this model. Thank you 😎

There is NOTHING 80s about this. Like comparing a 69 Camaro to a 2022 Camaro. One is a classic and the other kinda looks like it with the same name.
@@jacksonmarshallkramer5087 it's the oldest running BMX model from the 80s still in existence. To us that's 80s nostalgia alive and well.

In 40 years, the original PK will still be THE or and this will still be similar.
Can't wait to race it!

1AppleofEden I believe that todays 3 piece is now become a 2 piece because the spindle is press fit on to the crank arm.

Modern road and Mountain bikes have this same design. A 2 piece with external bearings which is an upgrade from the square tapered BB.
Redline flights w/39 teeth and 16t rear.
20.7 lbs
@ SE hall need to send me a bike
It’s ugly tho
Yo mammy ugly foo
Just because u wheelie a 29" bmx, doesn't mean u have to hate on the old school 20" bmx
