Thank you so much for all of this very in depth information on ECU. 100 Percent Top Level video... I have ordered a GET ECU from TacoMoto and can't wait to try it out soon.
I’ve never owned a GET but I love my Vortex in my 2021 350 excf with a PMB END CAP! No reeds! Also the tidy tail with license plate light is the greatest invention ever..... plus the wrap around your fork blinkers are the only way to go Taco Moto is the best in the business when it comes to the road legal KTM he understands how great these bikes are!! Just my .02✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼🤙🏽
Had my ecu reflashed by one of those guys you mentioned back in 2015. Got a three way map switch... medium, mild and wild. Was the hot setup back then.
Again super interesting and info loaded. On the booster plug. I have one on a rNineT and it did lower temps on the bike through visual pipe coloring. (Polished them between the change). The way I understand it, it only steps in when blip throttle or down low when the bike is reading the stock map. I get confused on close loop open loop jargon. So a sudden change…..parking lot, let off and coast, no throttle idle, etc…. It will richen the mix just a bit to smooth the throttle out with extra fuel just at that brief moment. Otherwise as soon as the ecu kicks in with adjustments by reading air temp and oxygen sensor etc…..the bike goes straight back to it’s normal fueling. So I could see why a Dyno run would show no gain in hp…it did smooth mine out in the slow stuff….and I believe it would make the ktm500 more input friendly in that situation too.
Very informative and impressive presentation you are a plethora of information. 1st thing is to get my 22 KTM 500 and 2nd is to get it to you so you can do your magic 👍🏼👍🏼
Great info thanks, anything changed on the 24s im getting a 24 350 excf when it shows up very soon so just wondering if the get and vortex will have new vedsions or stay the same....thanks
Great informative video, shame you didnt talk about the Rapidbike module that doesn't require a dumb dongle to fool the ECU AFR's below 5000rpm like the PC needs
I'm confused about the TPS on the Vortex, I just watched a video where you stated that resetting the TPS was a Myth? Here you're saying reset your TPS? I have a 2021 Honda CRF450RL, air box mod (boot and screen removal) Full Yosh system and the Vortex ECU. According to Tokyo mods, they tell me that there is no need to reset the TPS, your thoughts? Also, hopefully this can be answered, my bike will blow pop and stall on deceleration but only within the first 15 mins of riding, then I don't have an issue all day. I've seen some Pro's (RUclipsrs) change there fuel to 5,6,7. I asked Tokyo mods about this and they stated to leave it at 5,5,5 or I can go to 5,6,6. The ECU didn't take away the throttle twitch, with that said, I never rode this bike stock I rode my buddies stock 21 450RL the other day and his bike was smooth as silk, none of the issues that all the forums were talking about. Do you have any recommendations for my Vortex ECU and should I set the TPS? Thank you in advanced, Shane
LOL my map #2 on my GET is still pretty damned hot... I would almost want my map #2 to be a fuel conservation map that was about as hot as my stock bike was. EXCF 500 on GET is fire.
If one has installed the traction control knob installed on the GET ecu, does it automatically override the programmed TC value of the maps? Say that you have it on 7 when you switch through the maps do you get everywhere a TC of 7 ?
just a regular rider here, dual sport that i ride to town and cruise around or to work. also do trails when i have time. would a new end cap and ejk tuner be enough for my riding? 2021 ktm 350 exc f
Really appreciate the video. Lots of great info!I’ve got a ‘16 FE350S and the bike doesn’t run the way I’d like for it to run. Flames out, backfires and stalls every so often. Would the JD tuner fix those issues? I’m just a casual rider and want a better running bike. Should I go with the vortex or JD? Any info is appreciated. Thank you!
is it possible to have access to Reset parameters on beta 4S with the GET Beta ecu, to be able to make stepmotor and tps resets, without chasing a BST odb2 dealer unit ? (BGET390STD-19). Thanks !!!
Hello, so I've been trying to figure out my next bike for desert racing/riding (just old man slow class). I want a wide ratio transmission because I currently ride a FX450 and had to switch up the sprockets, 13:48 to 14:49, but it does make the first couple gears really tall. Also ran into some scenarios where I might need a light. This is helpful because these bikes, fe350/501 or crf450x, seems you need an ecu as soon as you touch anything. But two things are really proving a pain, figuring out transmission ratios and stator outputs of different bikes. Do you know where to get ahold of this type of info?
It’s apparent that these ECU’s (Vortex & Get) have evolved since their time of inspection with faster chip speeds as well as their capabilities. My question is, are they backwards compatible with the 12-16 bikes? For example and as far as I know, the newer 17+ bikes have a larger ECU pin out than the 12-16 bikes. Please explain how that works.
@@TACOMOTOCO ????? So, my suspicions about the new GET ECU not being compatible with the 12-16 bikes were correct 😢I was so looking forward to purchasing a GET ECU but sadly🤬 it won’t work in my bike
No, it’ll just make whiskey throttle worse - more power, worse whiskey throttle. But you could install a throttle tamer (a part to ease into the throttle power band a little more gently).
@@RFlavin I don't have experience with the GET ECU's but I imagine if you're going from stock to any aftermarket ECU you are going to get a more powerful throttle response and so be at more risk for whiskey throttle. My advice for anyone that is timid due to a whiskey throttle incident, would be to watch RUclips on riding position and good riding techniques and then just work on getting more seat time - also stop riding once fatigued. Also as mentioned before, I've heard good things about the "Throttle Tamer" throttle tube. If I remember rightly it has 3 different levels of throttle taming to help keep you from whisky throttle.
2022 350 EXC FMF Ti Slip-on (SA installed) Vortex ECU Map 1 (Power Map) Others set on base 5,5,5 Rest of the bike stock. 3.7 hrs Flames out very easily still even with a moderate idle. Can you suggest a starting point?

I’m sorry if this is in the comments already, I’m skimming videos quickly. I have a 22’ XCF-W and it has a dual map switch that has TC selector as well. If I switch to a vortex or a get ECU is that map switch no longer valid?
@@TACOMOTOCO okay thanks you! i think ill get the power commander for now for my 2021 350 excf, hate how hot it runs. maybe ill get the vortex tuner later if i need it
Quick question. Do all of the sensors on your bike including the ones from the emission systems need to be installed and working for the Gets or Vortex? I bought my bike used and some of the emission sensors have been removed/deleted.
I just a bought KTM 500 excf6 out of state. I had it shipped from South Dakota to CA. The dealer shipped it to me in TEMP lock status. It ran for one hour now it only runs for 2 seconds. Is there an ECU I can buy to replace my ECU and overcome the TEMP locked state?
Not making a lot of power out of the exc f 500 because you love vortex.. not the best ecu, now for exc f 500 2017 plus, use a power commander v 5 made for sxf 450, that one you can work with gas and timing, its not built for the exc f 500 so you have to figure out some wires but it works beautiful, with stock engine you could get 63 hp, good luck!
