    • @CAPTAINDRONE798

      You go on AMAZON and simply buy a cable that has JST on one end, and XT60 on the other. This is how the billions do it in the RC hobby.

      @@MyKonaRC Yup, the olden day plugs (usually Banana type plugs) are a thing of the past. Today everything is pretty much XT60 and it is up to you to get the proper connector to go from your battery type to the XT60. People today in the RC hobby have all the required connectors. You buy them once and then keep using them with any charger.

      @CAPTAINDRONE798 great review. Since you say it's just a normal dual charger if you're not using the g tech batteries, which charger with this power would you recommend? For 300watts it seems like a good charger and value even if you're not using the g tech batteries. Thank you for the great content

    Anything wrong with Traxxas lipo batteries and their ID chargers?

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  Год назад +1

      Yes. If you have not noticed, those chargers are “dumb” chargers when they come to charging none Traxxas batteries, and further, Traxxas batteries have no balance plug so you can’t easily charge them on everyday chargers.

    • @firstlast7099
      @firstlast7099 Год назад

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 We’ve got 4 kids, all have Traxxas vehicles, 2S Lipos, and two double ID chargers. We race every week at local tracks. I think there’s a hidden balancing cable in the Traxxas lipo battery plug, but the plug looks the same as those without. For safety, I just tried to standardize and simplify the process so everyone could plug their battery in and the chargers recognize the battery and adjust their charge settings automatically.

    How do you parallel charge on the D300? Every time I try to parallel charge on it it will display an “Output voltage error” and ask me to confirm. After confirming it goes into idle mode and remains there until a different command is imputed. I’m attempting this under the “charge” mode on the dropped down function menu and making sure I impute correct amount of amps (times how many batteries I’m charging) and the cell count of the batteries (wish remains the same) Thanks in advance for any help…

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798

      Parallel charge? Do you mean you have the unit plugged into AC power and you have batteries of the same voltage and mw all plugged into a parallel board, and that board is plugged into one channel with balance cable? Or do you mean SYNC charging… using two ports to charge one battery?

    Cool looking charger. I have learned to respect the power of lipo batteries. Over the past 5 years in the hobby, I've only had one issue while charging a battery. But that was one issue too many. Scared the living you know what out of me. So I customized a metal ammo box to use when I charge batteries so if something happens it's contained in that box.. so I usually charge while I'm watching TV or something and the charger is about 5 ft away from me. One time about a year ago I started to smell a funny odor and heard a sizzling sound. I jumped up unplug the charger grab the ammo box and ran out the front door and got it away from the house. I really didn't know what to do, so I let it sit there for a while before I open the box. When I did all the cells had swelled up a ton. I'm not sure how far away this was from possibly blowing up. Maybe someone can confirm this but I was told to put the battery in salt water and that would discharge the cells. That's what I did then disposed of the battery. I would love to see a video on what to do when you have an issue charging a battery. I will say i have allot more respect for lipo batteries since that issue.

      Lucky you caught it. Usually they get hot then hiss before they pop. Lipos catching fire while being charged are always from one of the following:
      - damaged battery causing a short
      - incorrect number of AMPS select
      - incorrect cell end voltage selected
      - incorrect total voltage for number of cells selected
      - defective battery charger (doesn’t stop charging when end voltage achieved).
