    If you need a large spraybooth consider the Wagner Spraytech Medium/Large for around $50. It's meant for painting furniture and can fit something like drawer chest. Works extremely well esp. if you're planning to paint large cosplay 3D prints for example.

    Great demo of this spray booth. Seems easy to assemble but a bit flimsy. I use a converted kitchen cooker extractor hood with built in LED lights and carbon filters. It works well, removing all smells of lacquer and other smelly paint stuff. The problem is that it isn't portable, it is noisy, and it takes up a lot of space. I want to change it for a more portable, quieter type. I might look at the Master type. I notice that you have your venting pipe stuck into a Lowes bin, and "mikereeves3008" mentions something about your bucket/dust collector on one of your videos. I'm interested in seeing this if you can point out where you've put it. I must say that you present your subjects with so much ease. I just feel comfortable watching them. Thanks for a lesson in how to do it!

    • @janvanrenselaar5998

      Right on the dime you are. For $250 bucks i could make 2 spraybooths of that size. I build one using a brushless kitchenextractor, 2 dimmers, MDF plates cut to size and good LED strips, a few visors and it is also fold-able, weight is a bit more as this thing. But we are modelbuilders,why buy it complete when you can make it yourself. A de-hydrator is costing me in here in Europe about $150-200, I used a old frigdge,was on the side of the street,waiting untill the garbadgetruck came along, got the motor and compressor out,cleaned it with bleach and ammoniac.Used 4 60 watt lightbulbs and a chickenclock for the time and temp and i got a magnificent paint-bake oven for next to nothing. With some elbowgrease and clever thinking you can make everything,that is also part of the hobby, or am i wrong??

    I model in O scale, where we deal with cars and locos that can be nearly 2 feet long. I have been working up a design to build my own new booth wide enough to accommodate the long items we deal with. I had no idea that an out of the box solution existed for those of us needing a wide work area. I would be inclined to build my own front shroud area, and integrate it into the filter suction units.

    Duck/duct tape would defeat the portability of this booth. Maybe they should have included a bridging piece of plastic that could snap into the slots meant for the side walls you remove? I did wonder why anyone might want something so wide so thanks for showing it's useful for model ships.

  • @SpexSpexington
    @SpexSpexington Год назад +1

    I have one of these booths. It isn't a double, but maybe the size of one of the two booths. I'm not really sure, but it was an "extra wide" model. If anyone gets one of these for a more permanent setup, I recommend using duct tape along the edges and seams. It really helps to keep the thing together. Also, line the insides with newspaper or cheap parchment paper (I buy a roll of packing paper from Home Depot).
    I've heard that you can take the end of the duct and put it in a bucket of water instead of going out a window. Apparently, the water collects the paint fumes and any particles that make it past the filter. Only issue is that I don't know if you just point the duct down over the water, or submerge it into the water. I don't see any reason why you can't submerge it (in theory, I guess). It's not like the fans will sucks water up the duct. The fans also shouldn't be strong enough to blow water everywhere.

    Great review! Well, that company should watch your video, because you made it look better than it would look normally. Maybe they should include a roll of duct tape to actually tie the two units together. The units individually and this partially together larger unit does seem to work pretty good though. I think if you got the spray booth tent and a good single unit and put the two together, I think you'd be money ahead and probably end up with something that works at least as good, if not better. The price isn't terrible for two booths and I'm sure that there's a way of actually making it a single booth out of them, so there's that. I guess I'm just a little disappointed that they didn't make parts to make this one big unit.

    I have a HSeng HS- E550 which is 55cm (21.6"),a bit wider than the usual singles, with lights, variable twin fan and the vent at the top so it can go right back against the wall. (Vents outside with included hose). And it was around 260AUD (180USD) and is quite sturdy and works very well. Don't know if you can get it in the US.
    I clean the filter in situ with the Dyson vacuum hose so I don't have to take it out and shake paint dust everywhere.
