I've tried both with and without the arm rest. Haven't done enough thread chasing to determine which works better, but it seems like I have more control without the arm rest. I've purchased most of my tools but have made the point tool after watching the video where you introduced it. I 3D printed a jig to get the faces precisely set; looking back on that, I think that might have been a bit of overkill.

I want to try doing some threaded boxes. Now I need to make some inexpensive tools. Thank you for the suggestions.

I made my own recess tool from an old Allen key but I splashed the cash and bought the Ashley Iles arm rest tool but made my own handle. Corian offcuts are great for making threaded inserts and take a perfect thread

Thread chasing has been on my wish list to learn. I have a 16tpi set and have yet taken the plunge into the craft. Not knowing how and what woods to use has now been explained in your videos. Thanks Mike
    Take care my friend
    Cheers
    Harold

I knew this series on thread chasing was going to get below average views since few folks are interested in thread chasing. I am pleased to know it was helpful to those that did watch it. I appreciate the feedback, Harold.
