I really love seeing that float! I've not been able to fish for over a year due to a car crash, but seeing your float there puts my mind at ease. Thanks!
Good video. It’s good to see someone who still uses the same floats and reel that I use. I’ve a full range of Stillwater blues, great sensitive floats, also a few Makin floats. Just goes to show, if you look after your kit, it can last a lifetime.
I love that - 'kept away from the wife so I didn't have too many jobs' - my husband used to do that!!! By the way, I really love your show. It's one of the very best available on RUclips - you're a natural in front of the camera and really helpful for an angler like me who's only been fishing for two years. Thanks!
Enjoyed Part one, was out yesterday with a 10ft float rod, back to basics, bloody loved it! Lots of fish, lots of sport and good fun!! Part 2 spot on!!

Brilliant, I love your fishing Video's and Blooper's that add to your charm. I wish I could have gone fishing with you when I was a kid, I would of had some very special memories.
One of my favourite ways of fishing, close in on light gear. My best at the moment is landing a 10lb 3oz Mirror Carp on 4lb line and 13 foot match rod. But fishing that close in makes me think of a challenge if you are up for it. That is to do with the colour of clothing, does it really matter? Are fish really spooked by colour, or is it just any sudden movement? The challenge? Try catching that close in wearing a Hi-Vis , either a slip on vest or jacket.
Or on rivers, bud! Granted most rivers today are controlled by clubs, but there are public stretches and you are allowed to remove a certain amount of fish from them. Always best to check local rules first, though, and personally I like to see the fish I catch swim away for the next person.
at last sorcsed Baileys n0 1 in Ireland with my bran and maggots in hand had a great afternoons fishing on the grand canal , two nice tench hatful of roach some very decent and two lovely rudd , Baileys all the way,,thanks guys

40.00 in you tell me its mono... literally walking out of Barcelona airport duty free that could of been expensive! worth it for the totally awesome fishing show!!
Completely agree, flask tea is dirt! lol. Try just keeping hot water in your flask (bags, sugar and milk separate). So much nicer tea actually tastes fresh, although is a real pain when you get bites while trying to make your cuppa... Scratch that, camping stove and a maid solves all above problems lmao
Fantastic video mate awesome fishing just like the channel states and you crease me up big time 😂😂 not to serious yet informative I learnt a lot from this video would love to have a day on the bank with you keep them coming I love float fishing 🎣
No,don't worry I 'm pretty much burned out on Carp for the year. There will be more "carpy" films, but I don't think I can face any more for some time now...Its the call of the Salt now.
That flying perch cracked me up because i did the same once on the canal and it landed right in front of a very pretty girl walking past. face palm haha. You definitely beet me on altitude though Graham.
Great vids Graeme,i wish i could join you out there as i am just about to change my fishing from sea & loch pike fishing.I know very little about carp fishing, but really want to get into it now i think.
Graeme can i ask what line you was using and what lb? Also what size hook? Love the video, thanks for all the entertainment. The flying Perch was class, love the giggles and laughs you guys have :)
Love your vids all old school stuff, tackle shops must hate you. Going back 60 years i use to fish Ham Pits and Thames at Ham & Hampton Court by Hurst Park racecourse side.
I've been off the fish for a few years and sorting through mine and my late grandads kit has made me want to kit up again. But with lockdown, that's not been an option. I know these are old vids but you're a class angler.
Not exactly the situation for the antenna float, but anyway you caught. I love using an antenna on deeper still water on light tackle to catch fish from all depths. With the droppers spaced out evenly, you can count the time each dropper shot takes to settle and take the antenna down to it's new position. Any irregularity in the new positioning/ timing of the antenna tells you a fish has intercepted the hook bait and you strike even if the tip is still above the surface as this has taken it on the drop. A great way to catch fish throughout the water column, so pleasing when you have skillfully balanced the rig to do as intended.
good evening. just got back in to float fishing after a 10 year break, used to go with my granddad as a boy and started up again. does size matter with the rod?. I have a lovely 10ft match rod perfect for Rudd/roach etc and small carp, I also have a 13ft float road and quiver tip (match). should I stick the the longer rods?.
42:03 i ABSOLUTELY thought there was a weird techno dubstep song begining to play, and graeme was starting to dance...imagine my disappointment ...other than that solid video, just like the rest of graemes vids.
Another great video lads. You should see about getting yourselves a wee wireless mic for situations such as this. Can be got pretty cheap from china. Keep it up!
I find closed face better for trotting on a river as it has a slighter larger spool diameter than a fixed spool reel so less line memory, and less float disturbance as it goes down the river.Less float disturbance = more bites.
Maybe Ireland this year.Just don't seem to get time for the foreign sport with our filming schedule, though it would be nice.I once has 21 weeks out of the country in one year on assignments...those were the days...where's that suntan oil ! Rickalls Outdoors The chances are you're missing bites because the hook is too big so the fish can nick the bait without the hook ever going into the fishes mouth. I either float or ledger. my biggest being 10lb so far. I figure that's not bad for a 15 year old. I would like a 20 pounder though
I caught a 26 pounder at the age of 6
