I have one of these sets i wear for cold weather camping here in Pennsylvania when I'm hot tenting, love this set , Dad was issued it in the service, this thing is crazy warm.stirrups on the bottom of the pants are to hang up to dry them by the way, not for your feet . This system also comes with a inner fleece jacket and when combined its rated to -40 Fahrenheit
Thank you for the inside and the info on the bottom loops that makes a lot of sense and I agree this is a really nice set although they seem quite flimsy material wise I took mine on a event in the woods and was afraid that every brand would rip the jacket although it definitely seems nicer that those bubble wrap like down jackets thank you for watching and commenting

Outstanding review of the ECWCS system. I was thinking of going with a Gorka system but decided to go with a used set of these.
Thank you for your kind words You can't go wrong with either but with the current world climate it would be unwise to walk around in a russian gorka suit

I wear it in really most cold weather with layers as nessaary
One detail, the parka does not have a contract number and the trousers do. Do you know why this is? The contract number is important to know if a garment was made for military or civilian use. It contains, among other things, the year in which the garment was made.
I will add it thank you I would assume that it's made for the military as it says official US army ecwcs gen lll
@@wolfoutdoorreview I've had a few jackets, all USA, that are the same as military jackets but don't have the contract number (so I think they are for civilians). I even have a USAF All Purpose parka on the way, in gore-tex, that does not have the contract number on its label, I plan to compare its quality with the one I have had for some time that does have a contract number and is of great quality. I'll keep checking it out. Your trousers were built in 2007.

I am exactly 6ft tall and I wear 32x32 pants and a medium shirt hope that helps and thank you for watching

Thank you for the kind support it means a lot as I am always trying to help people ma(e educated military surplus decisions and there are definitely other options for example small short and extra small short I would definitely check those out this is by far the warmest winter coat and pants set for the money by far
how much does the jacket and trousers weight?
I am not quite sure I would definitely say under 4 pounds
Medium Long size Gen III Level 7 Trousers weigh 1.95lbs on my scale. I do not own the parka
