  • Can this new flexible drag harrow replace other implements for ongoing gravel driveway maintenance? A quick #shortsvideo of my new S3 Delta drag harrow being pulled behind my 2023 Can Am XT850 Outlander ATV. I have to admit this S3 Delta drag harrow really gets the job done on dry and compacted gravel driveways! Be sure to Like & subscribe to see more follow up project videos as I will attempt to determine the real answer if this drag harrow can actually replace gravel driveway grading implements! Thanks! #kapperoutdoors #kapperoutdoors2 #graveldriveway #grading #gradinggravel #graveldrivewaymaintenance
Wow! After decades of many different drag types & configurations I decided this year I was going to invest in a couple of 'real' drag harrows. And boy I was NOT disappointed! Join me for today's episode as I introduce the S3 Delta Harrows 500 REG 6X8 Section W/DB (Draw Bar). Here is the website for the S3 Delta Harrows: s3deltaharrows.com/
I purchased and ordered them through Little Tractor & Equipment from their Harrisburg, Illinois location. My cost was $615 each, which is really a very good price considering what you are getting, the very heavy duty nature of them, and the ability to use it in 4 different ways. I used them for a half dozen food plots already and I also used them behind an old 12' John Deere disc and for very wet dirt, they nearly performed a miracle using the most aggressive setting. They even deleted my tractor tire tracks in very wet dirt, which is saying alot. I've never had a different drag that could do that in wet dirt. I also ran them up our mile long gravel driveway to quickly create a new gravel finish and prolong the potholes and deterioration without needed more gravel or driveway stone. Stay tuned to the channel for future uses and testing of this S3 Delta harrow as I will be putting it to use for several types of land management, food plots and gravel driveway grading applications. Thanks.

I would take about 30 passes just because it’s so satisfying to watch 😂. Good to see the results. Well done, sir.

Throw a couple tires or a log on the front for a little weight and it'll dig even better. I use an 8' wide version for dressing up a motocross track. They work amazing for seeding new lawns also.

My gravel drive is only a little over a quarter mile but is curvy and steep in parts. I love my drag harrow and I usually put three concrete blocks across it and use heavy duty zip ties to hold them when working on the tines down side. This gives me a bit more aggressive harrow action and Yeah I go through a few zip ties. I then, like you, flip it to the smooth side and finish up that way. Works great.

Good call on the extra weight. I used to do it but got tired of breaking bungies! LOL. Drags are the best, low tech tool that I can think of!!

I'm thinking of getting this for our driveway which is about 1/2 mile long gravel road. Problem spots are: some turns you see where the tires on vehicles are lower with a raised middle portion, and on a hill where the run off has damaged the right tire path.
I would use the ATV as well.

There are multiple ways you can use that drag that I have not tried yet. I believe if you flip it the opposite direction it would even be more aggressive with the spikes digging some more. Best of luck though whatever you decide.

Finished result looks a treat 👌 can't you use a blade on the excavator or the tractor to pull some gravel back from the side of the drive where it's been washed away 🤔

yep good call. It is on my hitlist to do that, but it is time consuming. The tractor blade wants to bring up a lot of dirt onto the gravel drive. The tractor loader or excavator seems best, but its still very slow. Sometimes paying for a load of gravel every year or two seems to be better time management.. ? cheers, thanks.

Will it smooth out ruts on a dirt road driveway?

Depends on how hard or soft it is. But you could flip it to it's most aggressive setting to cut in and move more dirt. You can use it in 4 different ways. It is a great harrow!
