  • This applies to many windshield wiper motors with 4 or 5 wires.
My video for replacing the motor can be found here: • Windshield Wiper Motor...
The windshield wipers on my wife's 2010 Honda Fit Sport kept running for several passes after being turned off, and often stopping straight up or at a wonky angle. Usually this is a problem with the windshield wiper motor. To make sure that this is the motor and not the windshield wiper selector lever on the steering column, I test the power coming out of the wiring harness plug.
This is 1 of 2 videos, in the other video I replace the wiper motor.
The red wire supplies constant +12v while the ignition is on to allow the windshield wiper motor to continue to the park position after you turn off the wipers. Inside the motor is a cam that opens a switch connected to the red wire, disconnecting the power so that the motor stops at the bottom of the windshield in the "Park" position.

My harness is the same and when I test the ground it is in three wires. Is it okay?

I'm not clear what you mean by this? do you have continuity between the battery negative (-) and 3 of the 4 wires in your harness's plug with everything turned off?

@@workbenchz I meant when I test the ground in the harness with my tester hooked to the positive terminal of the battery I have continuity between 3 of the five wires , but after further checks I found out it was a short circuit between the ground wire and another wire and the third wire with continuity was the hot wire. After fixing it the wipers are now working fine except that when you spray fluid from the washer the fluid sprays but wipers won't run

I spent a half hour looking for a video like this, another half hour sussing the plug and signals on a chart, I figured pulling this out as a stand alone was worth it.
